Why does Jon get all the abuse re: Boyd, when there's another poster obsessed with disliking a Rangers player for very dubious reasons, who has very questionable ability to analyse the game? I would be far more concerned with that tbh. A very strange attitude to have on a player of such obvious talents.

I personally give Jon abuse because of the constant repetitiveness of discussing Boyd, not because I am a detractor of said player - he needs thr right formation and if given it he will score a bucketload.

I hope that the poster you are referring to isn't me S_A.....

Im no bothered about the stick I get re Boyd tbh.

He IS the best we have at the moment and have had for a very long time. I like goals, I like a goal scorer and at the moment we have the best in the business.....

Play Body in a 4-4-2 and watch the goals fly in. Play him as the main/only striker in a 4-5-1 and he's pretty much useless.

I reckon it's WS who is in the wrong regarding Boyd.

Craig, my earlier post about Boyd cancelling his milk order is FACT! :D

I don't dislike him, he pretty much won us both of our trophies last season. I hope he gets more games because let's be honest, what a goals to games ratio scoring record he has, second to none.

spot on. There is a reason the song for Boyd is "he gets the ball, he scores a goal" and that is that the fact is he scores goals regularly and is the best chance of a 30 goal per season regular goalscorer since McCoist.

The endless debate about tactics do not take away from the fact that you need to play him every week and he will score you goals nearly every week.

See that's the point though, we play a long ball style of football and when Boyd is up top himself he can't win the high balls and there's no one around to help him out. If the ball is played into his feet, his 2nd touch is a tackle.
