Raith Rovers Team News

WALTER SMITH has named an attacking starting eleven for today's friendly against Raith Rovers at Starks Park.

Allan McGregor remains in goal with the Gers' gaffer sticking by his tried and trusted defensive unit of Kirk Broadfoot, David Weir, Carlos Cuellar and Sasa Papac.

In front of them Steven Whittaker, Brahim Hemdani, Charlie Adam and Kenny Miller look certain to make up a midfield quartet with Jean-Claude Darcheville and Kris Boyd up front.

Smith mentioned in his pre-match press conference that today's team would be close to the one that will face Kaunas midweek.

But his plans have been disrupted with Lee McCulloch and Kevin Thomson not in this afternoon's squad.

McCulloch has a throat infection while Thomson picked up a knock but should be fit to face the Lithuanians.

As expected the manager has a strong bench at his disposal and several changes are expected to be made throughout the 90 minutes.

RAITH ROVERS: McGurn, Wilson, Cook, Campbell, Ellis, Walker, Dunbar, Davidson, Weir, Smith, Ferry

Subs: Sloan, Silvestro, Wardlaw, Graham, Wedderburn, Aackie, Beveridge

RANGERS: McGregor, Broadfoot, Weir, Cuellar, Papac; Whittaker, Hemdani, Adam, Miller; Darcheville, Boyd

Subs: Alexander, Webster, Novo, Lafferty, Velicka, Cousin, Emslie, Furman

Referee: Steve Conroy

We'vejust got away with a decent penalty shout apparantly.

It is attacking though but still no creativity, says a lot when Adam is probably the one getting more of a mention....
