Super_Ally 0 Posted October 29, 2008 Author Share Posted October 29, 2008 Was hoping this would be more an appreciation of the fact that Boyd has been doing some things in the last two games that just haven't been seen before, expecially in terms of linking playing and holding the ball up. Totally agree he needs to continue this in the upcoming games and when he's given his chance in the bigger games, he needs to replicate this kind of display. However I hope those who appear to be waiting for him to fall on his face again (not aimed at anyone here btw, but there are some who it appears can't wait for his performance to drop again) give him more than one off game before shouting about how they were right all along and it was a false dawn. Lets watch his performances over the next half dozen games or so (assuming Walter doesn't chop and change too much) and see if he manages to keep to a relatively consistent level. At any rate, it's been encouraging to see (one cross field ball alst night was almsot sublime from Boyd) and let's hope it continues. 0 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

And last night was a continuation of that. So, in that vein, if Smith doesn't play him against the better sides then I fail to see just how Boyd can convince him. His overall play has been much better of late, he scores goals, is starting to link up play - he is showing he deserves at least a chance to show he can do it against the better teams. But he also needs an extended run against those said teams rather then one game where, if he doesnt score, the consensus once again is that he can only do it against the wee teams. 0 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
