  1. Past hour
  2. They are just finalising his pay off clause
  3. Done deal according to Sky. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11788/13379221/russell-martin-rangers-agree-terms-with-former-southampton-swansea-and-mk-dons-boss-to-be-new-head-coach
  4. And fullbacks according to this I watched earlier. Jefte is a fit for this, but a declining Tav, Ridvan and Sterling don't fit at all. Lots of work ahead for Martin & co.
  5. Why so many car parking spaces I thought the idiot council up they're in glesga wanted you all on bikes hence all the bike lanes I see not being used when I'm up in visiting
  6. I think part of the reason for his appointment is that he can get more out of this squad. However, you are correct: we need fast wingers/forwards!
  7. He's off to a good start. Keeps rosary beads in his back pocket Hired his wee pal as head of recruitment Hired a green party member and vegan as manager Bring back that wee James Bond baddie Wilson. All is forgiven.
  8. If the board think he is the man to take us forward, they need to back him in the transfer market. Don't appoint him and expect him to do anything with this squad of toilets.
  9. All fan media now says Martin is a go.
  10. To be fair to Ross, he was a good enough defender. Recent coaching experience with Fylde giants, Fleetwood Town.
  11. Russell Martin: Who is the Rangers frontrunner and what could the fans expect from the former Southampton boss? https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.skysports.com/amp/football/news/11781/13379015/russell-martin-who-is-the-rangers-frontrunner-and-what-could-the-fans-expect-from-the-former-southampton-boss
  12. A failure, too, then
  13. I only know that he's worked with Martin as a technical development coach for the past 5 years.
  14. Today
  15. Russell Martin and Maurice Ross will build the best defence ever...
  16. Sounds right to me as is your analysis of Walter’s stranglehold over celtic - solid defence, hitting on the break with very good players. Rangers defence has become less and less solid and there have been few very good players. (See my previous maunderings passim on Smith v celtic and City v Everybody)
  17. As good as Official. Change the thread title.
  18. Matty Gill? Where sits he in your panoply of failed hipsters?
  19. Ultimately, Martin's CV and playing style is a perfect example of what we don’t want. Low block an issue. Defence an issue. Failure at set pieces. Recent managers failed to address these issues and now we seem Hell bent on bringing in another manager who has these blots on his CV. FFS! Add in that he is a 'philosopher' who has never heard of pragmatism, far less empiricism, and who elevates style over substance, and we look done for. Wtf is Matty Gill? And wtf has he done to warrant a job at Rangers?
  20. Maurice Ross is a strange pick. I'm not sure where the connection is with Martin. I don't think it matters: he'll just be an assistant with a club link, like Alex Rae, because Martin does the coaching.
  21. My big concern about Russell Martin as Rangersmanager is that, from what I’ve read, he appears to be Warburton MK II (no plan B when plan À isn’t working. Just do plan A better). We need a good tactician who, when needed, makes effective changes during games. We don’t need another one trick pony like Warburton
  22. H&H haven't said anything for a day on this and what RR speculate on this morning, is nothing by 5pm. Keith Jackson for some reason or another keeps getting inside scoops that have been spot on (I'm thinking King). Stadium tours are cancelled tomorrow, and Record Sport are saying an agreement in principle between all parties is there. Martin's the new Manager, n he's bringing Maurice Ross 😂
  23. God loves a trier......
  24. The DR know about as much as we do. Article full or could's and maybes. H&H re-tweeting that we are still in discussions with multiple candidates and Rangers Review saying this morning the DA still very much in the frame.
