  1. Past hour
  2. Curiosity who was Captain before Tav, also Was he the longest serving player as some clubs usually go with senior players as there captains rather on overall captaincy role
  3. They are serial losers. Tav has been Captain for a fair chunk of that time. We finish second in a two horse race and have done consistently... part of that is our 'Captain' to blame
  4. At the time it seemed grim but it was never over by Hallowe’en. The last dozen seasons has been mostly embarrassing. Tavernier has been an excellent player for Rangers but the last two seasons show that his athleticism is falling off. Why wouldn’t it? That said, he has never been captain material which is not a criticism. Neither were Laudrup or Gascoigne.
  5. I have nothing personal against TAV , sure he at times was in control of everything from corners to free kicks and wouldn’t let anyone near them last season. Which at times stopped us from playing fast counter attacks etc, I think the club knows it’s his last season as a Rangers captain/ player and he wants to let his contract run down.He has been an excellent captain and as mentioned got us a lot of goals and far in competitions, plus his wonderful goals against the manky mob , I think this season would be a great opportunity for him to lead the team out and also come off at certain points to our new captain whoever it may be, I’d like Raskin but then again will he be persuaded to stay or have his head turned by a EPL side 🤞 we keep him for a few more seasons and watch him mature into a player he is capable of becoming.

  7. Looks like a younger ish version of Leon Balogun, sure he is 32 but looks solid in defence when at wolves, I don’t know his injury record mind you. another clip I found. https://www.ibroxnews.com/2025/06/07/rangers-ready-long-term-conor-coady-offer-as-transfer-talks-advance/
  8. It's amazing that 1 player takes the blame for successive failures. Flip it around, is Tav singularly responsibile for winning 55 and getting us to the EL Final?
  9. Serial losers all the same, if you go by todays fans assessment on this and previous squads - if you're not first and all that.
  10. Today
  11. I'd quite happily see him play much fewer games, and a better leader as captain too. My point is, I wouldn't expect a new head coach to air that dirty washing in public, before he's even met, never mind assessed, the playing squad
  12. From the clips on You Tube, the Israeli guy looks very like Igumane. And he's only 21. Exciting.
  13. Anyone that doesn't see a problem in Tav continuing as Captain, is blind. And I include Russell Martin in that. Symbolic of shit the bed, bottle Rangers. A beacon of failure. Shouldn't be starting this new era, with that massive chip on our shoulder. Completely refresh it, make Raskin captain, and put Tavernier on the bench, worrying about alienating players when we effectively want a rebuild in which most of the players will change anyway. Some fans aren't ruthless enough, far too much sentiment.
  14. If Tav had been captain then Rangers might not even have managed second place. A lot of their niar were close competitions. No seventeen points gaps then.
  15. England have huffed and puffed against Andora
  16. Dundee players have plenty experience fighting relegation battles. It’s not Tiffoney is it? (Does a good breakfast apparently). Shaughnessy - he’s only 32. I like Cameron. Good player.
  17. I think it's rather simplistic to put all our troubles onto Tavernier. I think it's more symbolic than anything literal. He has flaws but I still think the positives outweigh them, for now. He'll stick around, he'll remain captain - I think stripping him would create more issues - but he won't necessarily play every game.
  18. Did you knock back Real Madrid before they appointed Alonso? You talk a very good game.
  19. It's Juan Sara or Fabian Caballero.
  20. Really, did you apply for the Managers role? If all it takes to being successful is getting rid of Tav, you'd be a shoe-in for the job. See when John Greig was Rangers captain during Celtics 9-in-a-row, were we clueless keeping him?
  21. Keep on defending the guy , we are winning nothing again if hes still at the club and captain of the side , no matter who the manager is.
  22. Maybe, just maybe, it's not successive managers, countless teammates, opposition players and managers that are clueless about Tav...........
  23. One day, maybe soon, maybe not, someone at Ibrox is going to make a statement, or a throw away line that's not going to trigger Rangers Das.
  24. The clever man wouldnt have answered or spoke about Tavernier at all , but now hes said he sees no reason to change the captaincy and that only means hes going nowhere and hes still going to captain the team. Its the same mistake all the other managers made. Only a matter of time till Tavernier sees off another clueless manager.
  25. Unnamed at moment but I would assume one would be Mulligan, don't know who the other one would be. Their striker was decent but he was on-loan so not him 😀
  26. Who are the Dundee players? Cameron has already signed. Mulligan?
