  1. They can't charge 200 mate - UEFA have a hard price cap of 60 quid per game, they won't let you charge more apparently.
  2. Absolutely 100% this !!! This was exactly the argument I had to make whilst Treasurer of a club here. They are a "community club" so have roots in helping the community - the members were constantly looking for freebies or discounts or "how can the club help me".... It took me a while but eventually I got them to understand that you need to be a "business first, community club second". Without running it like a business and generating revenue, you can't be a community club and help your community financially
  3. Alfredo will stay IMO. GvB making the right noises in his presser about his attitude improving.
  4. Tinfoil hat time...... I don't blame the club for pricing it as they have. Yes, our fanbase are loyal and I would be very surprised to see the full allocation not being taken up which means the club have got it "right" - the club still need to maximise income and if the full allocation gets taken up at what are the maximum prices authorised by UEFA then they have done the right thing in terms of revenue maximisation. It is easy for me to say as I am fortunate enough to have the means to be able to pay it, so I absolutely understand people's frustrations. However, the "journey" has cost fans a fair bit of money but it has cost Park and the Board a significant sum too. We can't surely on the one hand be asking for the club to get us to self-sustainability and then bemoaning when they maximise a legitimate revenue stream ? I disagree with the "for all the money raised in the last 12 months" argument - are we to just rest on our laurels as a club and say "wow, we made a nice chunk from Patterson and Bassey, lets just give discounted CL prices as a thank you". Like it or not, it is a business. Maximising revenue is what they SHOULD be doing. And if the full allocation is taken up then they have done the right thing for the club. On a much smaller scale I was the Treasurer of a club here in Bermuda and it seemed that as a club we constantly would just give stuff away "to be nice" - free this and free that.... and the club ended up broke, with bills to pay and I had to completely restructure how we did things. Much smaller scale but the reality is that if you don't maximise your income then you are missing an opportunity. Always happy to agree to disagree - but IMHO the Club have done the right thing..... IF they maximise the allocation
  5. Facts which bear little resemblance to relevance, IMO of course. I just can't get my head round how results of 30-50 years ago are of more relevance and comparison than results of 3 weeks ago
  6. Must be me, but that makes absolutely zero sense to me. Recent form are the teams you play against now, not 50 years ago. The comparison between PSV of Wednesday night and PSV beating Ajax 3 weeks ago is far more relevant and pertinent than comparing our poor results against Ajax 30-50 years ago. You will need to do quite the amount of explaining on how you come to that conclusion.
  7. Jas Boyd posted the guaranteed numbers yesterday. Everything else, except for ticket revenues, will be subjective no matter who it comes from (as the club obviously wont state it)
  8. Remembering that PSV also just recently beat Ajax in the Dutch Super Cup..... They will be beatable with one of our recently often magical performances
  9. Aye, probably the bigger difference is Celtic having to split the coefficient money with us
  10. I think it happens with some folks when they mass block people - Jean Johanssen did the same to me a while ago when I was defending her against mentalist Tims.
  11. To be fair, was hard to split them - Goldson was colossal the last half hour when PSV were throwing the ball into the box at every attempt
  12. Even if he IS considered a midfielder, I suspect that he is going to get much more game time at CB than he would in midfield. Not only that, but he loves making vertical passes through the lines. Passes like a midfielder but can actually defend like a CB. And surprisingly good in the air defensively. I think that CB position is his to lose now, even when Davies/Souttar/Helander are fit again.
  13. Anyone ask Jas to unblock me - I think he has blocked me when he has done a mass block whilst we debated Tims financial fantasies
  14. Does the 18 mill also include the TV ?
  15. How much is it ? Not sure why but Jas has me blocked on Twitter, lol
  16. Best to ignore trolls mate
  17. It isnt really a simplistic take, it was a factual statement mate. He said they were down from 40 million to 30 million after last night and he is right, because the TV post is now split between two clubs rather than them getting the full 20 mill to themselves
  18. Agreed re all 3. Can see why anyone would give Sands MOTM - but I thought Goldson was an absolute colossus in the last half hour - I don't think he lost one aerial battle that second half. He was a rock !
  19. I honestly cant see him being that way. Certainly doesnt come across as a Dele Alli type. He was working on his fitness all the way through pre-season
  20. It would be a fair shout in all honesty.... this season maybe
  21. The first goal Goldson had virtually zero time to react as the ball dropped over the players in front of him. The second goal he didnt get outjumped by a midfielder. Obispo is a centre half. Seems we fans make mistakes as often as Goldson. Goldson was involved in both their goals but suggesting he is to blame for them is unfair IMHO. First one, no time to react. Second one was nothing to do with being outjumped, it was all to do with the zonal system - zonal system will ALWAYS give the attacking player the benefit when going up for a ball because he will be attacking it at pace, giving himself leverage - and the defenders have to somehow compete from a standing start. Defenders will always be at a disadvantage. Goldson often gets criticism and merited - but on Tuesday night there was little he could have done about either goal - IMHO of course.
  22. King is also comfortable in either side of CB, that versatility is important. His time will come for sure
