Any interesting news from last night's RST AGM with Charles G in da house?
Bluedell replied to Zappa's topic in Rangers Chat
Wow. Surprised that Joanne and Sie have stepped down although I guess they have been at it for a long time. Not surprised at Kenny given his (presumably current) location. -

Which board members stood down? Are there not 6 new board members? -

I guess it's a fair point. The RST board members stick their heads up (and get a bit of criticism when they do so) and have a presence on forums whereas I'm not aware of the likes of Andy Kerr, Ross Blyth or John MacMillan doing it, although the RST want individual members whereas the Assembly and the Association are more interested in supporter clubs, and in general don't really care about how many they represent. -
You obviously can't say who it is, but can you say what field that they work in? Sports, music, acting?

I'm not a member of the Assembly or the Association. -

Waiting for approval is unsatisfactory. Why should members have to wait a year for minutes to be produced? They should be made public within a reasonable time-frame (a month?) and be subject to approval. As for the applications, they should still need to be voted in and members should still have the power to refuse to sanction their appointment. -

It raises the question of how members who are unable to attend AGMs can vote on these elections. There was no agenda issued, no notice given to members of who is being voted on and therefore a total inability of members to submit proxy votes. It's not very democratic if voting is limited to the normal 1.5-2% who attend the AGMs. There is also no way for members to find out what went on at the AGM given the refusal to issue minutes. I know I keep harping on about this, but it is very frustrating. I have requested the minutes of the 2010 and 2011 AGMs and they have not been forthcoming. They should be put on the website so that all members can view (together with the accounts). Members should not have to specifically request this information. -

Were there any elections at the AGM on Friday? -

FA written report on John Terry decision

Daming evidence against Terry and Cole. -
It was closer to £4.2m from JJB after accounting for the lump sum.

My understanding (and I may need correcting) is that there has been 2 statements issued by the USP. The first one was where they basically said that they weren't going to allow the RST to join and if the RST wanted to talk then they had to contact RU's executive assistant. That was the one that RM and RTID NI said that they didn't want their names put to. The parties did see the statement before it was issued and feedback was given prior to the given deadline but it was issued with their names on it anyway. The second statement was in respect of the boycott and I'm not aware of anyone withdrawing their names from it. I think that they may not have all fully cleared it (or even seen it) before issue but they don't have a problem with the general gist of it.

Sales were only that high because we manufactured our own strip. He's havering, or showing a lack of understanding of our accounts if he is using that as a target. As for the profit that year it wasn't published but did it really jump from 20% in 2004 to 27% in 2005? Very doubtful.

Thanks. So I can nip away when all the boring stuff starts.
-
Possibly. It's certainly a bit haphazard at the moment, although I don't think that any of them make it a laughing stock. I have respect for all the signatories, although I'm not sure that the RFFF should be getting involved in it. In general, you are correct. It's a small percentage of our support that read the forums. However, there are a number of great things that have spawned from the forums, such as the card displays and the banners. They can also be used to get messages accross like getting rid of stuff like the Red Hand Salute. You are never going to have total success but it has worked to a great extent. It woudl be wonderful if something like the TRS was a lot more influential. Our support in general is certainly nowhere near as influential as it should be.
-
Thanks. When is he due on tonight? At the start?
-
This isn't the Andy McGowan who used to be on the RST board, in case of any confusion.
-
Fixed that for you
-
Will it be a similar spiel tonight or will it just be focussed on the share issue, do you think?
-
Can't see what the issue is with CRO putting their name to the statement. I don't really think that size matters. Are Gersnet not allowed an opinion just because, say, FF are 100 times bigger? They aren't trying to make out that they are something that they are not. They, along with the TRS are obviously looked upon in some quarters as being influential. If some people disagree with the message then that is their entitlement. It's going to be an emotive subject. However don't fall into the trap and play the man instead of the ball.

They always sit towards the front, usually on the right as you look up at the box.

Haven't noticed him over the past few games, but I'm fairly sure he was there earlier in the season. However there's been a bit of change in the seating arrangements for the directors. It used to be that they would all sit up on either of the back rows but now they seem to sit all over the place. The FD tends to sit near the front, for example. I'll keep an eye out for Malcolm at the next game.

Message from BH, who can't access the site at the moment: Tell the guys that I have been advised that the old away scheme is being reinstated for the rest of the season and there will be an email with a form out today from the Ticket Office. Thank everyone who commented and voted in this poll. BH

No. I keep checking but he always just misses me. For example, in the photo below, if he moved the camera slightly up and to the right, you'd see me. In fact the black bit over the guy on the very top right's shoulder may be me.
