  1. You don't? I know loads, and I'd like to include myself in that.
  2. He didn't say there was. He only said that many Rangers fans do, which is 100% correct.
  3. So what? Should the club come out and condemn me if I get caught speeding? Should the club have someone up at the high court every day checking on the football allegiances of anyone found guilty of any crime, so that it can condemn them? It's a ridiculous suggestion to ask the club to get involved in commenting on a crime just because the guilty parties may support the team.
  4. Can he play for us though? Would he be included in the squad? Is there the same issue as we had with the players we were allegedly unable to sign?
  5. Why? WTF has it got to do with Rangers? Why should the club get dragged into something that has nothing to do with it?
  6. I think that we could do with him as a squad player given the lack of defensive cover. I have heard that it was for non-footballing reasons as to why he left.
  7. Do we know that for a fact? I know Whyte said it, but I'd hardly call him a credible witness.
  8. There aren't any directors left from the previous 2 regimes. Anyone below that level never had any real authority and would not be "running the club". Can't see any problem with keeping competent staff and getting rid of them and replacing them with people with no experience seems pointless.
  9. Andrew Dickson was appointed as number 2 in the finance department around 1991. I went for the job at the same time. I was interviewed by a Murray HR girl through in Edinburgh (Gyle), who told me all about Rangers, which was quite amusing as I obviously knew far more than her about it. I came away from the interview feeling that they were looking for someone slightly less experienced than me and as it turned out I did not get offered the job. It certainly seemed that there was a bit of work required on match days that would result in missing some of the games and I wasn't too bothered. From memory, Dickson seems to have been well thought of and was promoted to Financial Controller 10 years later, although still number 2 to Douglas Odam who was Finance Director at that point. At some point during the last 10 years (I can't remember when) he moved out of the Finance Department and became Head of Football Admin, perhaps taking over much of the responsibilities that Campbell Ogilvie had. He has never been a formal Director. He has been sitting in the Directors Box (on the back row) for a number of years and I'm sure his knowledge and experience would be invaluable to Green.
  10. As has been said already, a CEO runs a company on a day-to-day basis whereas a Chairman is more involved in strategy and would not necessarily be involved daily. A Chairman and the Board would normally have the power to appoint and sack a CEO and more power would normally lie there. Murray has in fact alluded to this and said that he has the power to sack Green. However I'm not so sure in this case. The power lies with who ever controls the board appointments and it's unclear as to who has this. It's almost certainly not Murray. It may be Green, it may be some of the shareholders (Zeus, BPH?). We don't know where the real power lies at the moment.
  11. What is it that he should have been saying? Would he have known anything financial?
  12. So people should be allowed to go about deliberately telling lies? Disagree.
  13. I wonder what the procedure is if they can't agree.
  14. I haven't noticed it, particularly where I sit, but a couple of other people said to me yesterday that they see a lot more kids going to the games this season. Good news that we are getting the next generation in.
  15. I am loving this season so far. I have left Ibrox on a high after every game I've been to. We are seeing some good goals, good play and some promising youngsters together with great atmospheres. We are not seeing the same boring opposition and don't have to put up with a lot of the crap from other SPL supporters. I haven't been to any away games, so can't comment on them but the home games have been enjoyable. I know some have got complaints about the manager or a few players but I can't get too concerned about it at this point. More of the same, Rangers!
  16. Was wondering why I didn't see you at the game today, BH.
  17. It has probably getting steadily worse over the past 10 years. Perhaps it's a generational thing. Guys who have been going to Ibrox consistently over the last 25 years are sitting freezing on a cold wet February night at 9.30pm thinking that there is nothing on show to excite them any more. Perhaps they are thinking that they can watch the games on the net from the comfort of their own homes? Not sure. However I hear the comments and they have been getting more and more and you do see a few people not renewing that were previously regulars. Perhaps it's become more marked over the last couple of seasons as the fall in season ticket numbers would testify, falling from 43K to 40K to whatever it ended up at last season (36K-37K?). I don't think that you can bring this season into it to any great extent as you can't judge the standard of football on this few games, and before the team has been finalised. However there is a general expectation that it should be possible to put a more entertaining team on the park given the level that we are playing at. Whether that is achieved may have an impact on renewals in the future.
  18. Who specifically is that comment aimed at?
  19. What I said was it has been getting worse. When it was "good" is a totally different subject.
  20. RU certainly don't seem to hold the concept of confidentiality in high regard.
  21. I guess it's reassuring that you are dealing with the "staff" and not the reps on the board.
  22. Of course they can expel Trusts from membership. They have received complaints about the Celtic one, and did nothing apart from ask for meaningless assurances which were then ignored anyway. However I take your point in respect of point 4. As for the Board members in Scotland there is definitely an anti-Rangers feeling there. If SD are not holding cash as was previously suggested and it is held independently then that is fine.
  23. We are to give money to Supporters Direct? Seriously? 1. The Scottish Council contains Morag McHaffie who called for Partick Thistle fans to boycott Rangers games if we ended up in the 1st Division. 2. The Scottish Council Chairman's own Trust were against us being admitted to the 1st division, threatening boycotts. 3. They allow the IRA supporting, Jeanette Findlay led Celtic Trust to retain their membership despite all of their pro-IRA statements. 4. The ArabTrust are one of their leading members who have reported our fans to the police. 5. Supporters Direct did not offer any support to the Rangers fans generally over the past year when we had all of our problems. I can't see me entrusting any of my cash to an organisation riddled with such anti-Rangers feeling. I want nothing to do with supporters of other clubs and would not be in favour of giving them any cash from Rangers fans to hold.
  24. This is largely correct. The product has been getting worse for a number of years and I believe that some fans have renewed due to the situation that may not have done had we been in the SPL because there's little on the pitch to get fans going. I think that the novelty factor will carry us through for a while yet, but we need something to get us going. Putting the manager situation to one side, as it's been covered elsewhere, I think a major issue is the lack of a real flair player/wingers. Aluko saved last season from an entertainment viewpoint, and we could do with getting in someone similar to get the fans going.
  25. Fair enough, but my point still stands and you're missing a great opportunity by not addressing it.
