Slightly concerned about feedback from Green's NI trip
Bluedell replied to Max Rebo's Big Blue Nose's topic in Rangers Chat
I still fail to see why Rangers wearing an orange strip reinforces connections with the OO. There are currently no connections between the club and the OO. People can choose to make up one in the same way as they have done with our socks etc. However it doesn't mean that there is a connection other than in these people's minds. Is a Rangers fan who wears an orange strip promoting the Orange Order in any shape or form? I don't think so and fail to see why anyone else should. Is a Rangers fan with an Orange phone promoting the OO or is it because they offered him the best deal? What about someone with a RoI flag? The orange on that represents the OO. Are you suggesting that if you see an Irish Rugby match at Lansdowne Road you look at all the people with Irish flags as reinforcing connections with the OO? -
You mean like the one that I've got at Ibrox?

Yes, mate. There have been discussions with the club on BF1 and they are still on-going. The groups are discussing a couple of issues at the moment and are to get back to the club. As for the Section 60, this will be raised with the relevant authorities in the very near future.
-
The Working Group deals with the treatment and behaviour of fans. It doesn't get involved in other issues.
-
A strange comment indeed. The RFFF has a mndate for looking after its funds and that is all. It should not be getting involved in calls for boycotts or putting its name to Rangers Unite statements.

Yes. the assembly does not have any members as such. It only has member organisations, the RST being one. As far as I'm aware, the RST has one rep who attends assembly meetings on behalf of the RST. the RST did try and get the previous Assembly President to join the Board but it didn't work out.
-
2 groups issued statements to say they disagreed with the statement. I have not seen any statements in this regard from either the Association or the Assembly, and I even have been told that the Assembly put it up on their website, so one can only conclude that they support it, whether or not what was said at the meeting was different from the statement. As for the minutes, I guess they're taking a leaf out of another organisation's book
-
Not as far as I'm aware.
-
It's bizarre that the Association in particular can put their name to that statement while having 2 representatives on the the RST board. Was it an RST board member than actually chaired the meeting that the statement came from? Perhaps one of the RST board members who post on here can explain?

Here is their statement outlining the preconditions.

Cheers Steve. Yeah that's the one. We were singing that for a good few years before the more popular one came along.

It's great being a moderator and being able to view deleted posts.

I guess you've got that with the RFWG. This new USP may be similar if they dropped the preconditions before certain groups can join.

You can't combine all the groups. The BF1 groups need to be independent of everyone else.tTBO and UB could combine but they have different approaches and want to stay independent, which is fair enough. You have different forums (FF, RM, VB, GN etc) and blogs (TRS, CRO) which have different strengths and weaknesses. We have the 2 RSAs which concentrate on supporter clubs, and therefroe have different priorities from other organisations. You have the RST whose main aim is supporter ownership and representatuiion, and RU which is looking for a different approach to fan ownership. You then have groups which have very focussed aims (RFFF, RFWG) and yes, these could be dealt with by the Assembly but they do allow for a cross section of the support to be represented better than they might under one umbrella. Most of the groups have different purposes priorities and it's therefore difficult to combine them. There certainly is scope for the Assembly to get much more involved in things but they have taken a back seat recently for some reason.

My favourite top is the 92/93 season one with the red collar. I know it's not that traditional but always thought it looked superb.

There's another Wolverhampton song that used to get sung on our bus, but I now can't remember it. Anyone know what it might be?

If you're talking about the oranje cup final, that was 3 seasons before the orange strip was brought out. -

Sales of the last orange strip would suggest that it was very popular, more so than black, red or white away strips, so it would appear than when people are going to wear it is not an issue. -

There's a campaign to get rid of anyone who received EBTs, which is specifically aimed at Ogilvie. Even though he's been a pussy and allowed the open attacks on us, they still want rid of him.

It is the SPL clubs that voted us out of the SPL. It is the SPL clubs that tried to blackmail us into giving up our titles. It is the SPL clubs that are currently trying to steal our titles. None of them have come out and said that they believe that the current witch hunt, using Celtic's lawyers and a "independent" judge who has already been proven to have ruled against uis incorrectly. They are all complicit in this whole process. A boycott? Count me in.

Aye, the grumpy bassas club on these away trips must be quite small, so you're bound to know each other.

Boycotting what potential fixture? Edit- not sure if part of the statement is missing or if it's just badly written.
