When is it? Can't be bothered searching.

Kenny Miller's your cousin?
-
Anyone else think he looks a bit like Cousin in that picture?

Good question. Top side have the better goalie. Bottom side have marginally the better defence (Moore being the slightly weaker CB). The full backs are fairly evenly matched. Albertz and Gazza both give a great goal threat. Gazza is more creative, but then the other side have Laudrup to counter that. I'd rate Souness slightly above McCall, so may have to give the midfield very marginally to the top side. Top side have a target man in Hately but Mols and McCoist were better than Negri, so would go for a draw. The will to win of Goram, Gough, Souness and Hately may be the telling factor. 2-1 to the top team, but one hell of a game.

Once he has signed all we can do is hope he is a success. I'm not sure what message WS will get from now on. There's hardly likely to be mass protests. If Maurice Johnston can get accepted by the 99% of the support, then I would think that Miller will as well.

A statement from the RST: Last night (Wednesday 12/06/08) the Trust Board met considered the resignations on the table and has reluctantly accepted them. Those who resigned cited a variety of reasons for resigning, amongst other factors these included changing personal circumstances, professional obligations, a disagreement with the ongoing strategy of the Trust Board and differences of opinion regarding the implementation of policy regarding fans representation on the board of Rangers Football Club. Stephen Smith was elected Chairman pro tem and David Edgar will act as Vice-Chairman. This notice serves as advance notice of a Special General Meeting of the Trust requisitioned by the Board as per the rules for the purpose of appointing new Board members - date, time and venue to be announced shortly. The Trust Board wishes to make it clear that it remains committed to clarity, transparency and accountability and we view this SGM as an opportunity for members to become more engaged, and for those who share the Trusts aims and objectives to help re-energise and revitalise the organization. This meeting will be open to all current members of the Trust and we would strongly encourage all members to attend.

Given the notice period and organisation required, I would suggest that an EGM was not practical given the AGM is probably only 6-10 weeks away. They may look at moving it forward? I'm also not expecting any update today. But I could be wrong on both counts.

I believe that there was a board meeting last night, not an EGM

I don't recall that from either of the bits that Johnny posted yesterday. Response 1: "There have been resignations as the people involved felt that they had done as much as they could in their roles. There is nothing sinister in it. We are a voluntary organisation, and as such, other commitments come first. Some were unhappy with their roles in the RST, some didn't like the direction of the RST. It happens in a large group, as I am sure you will agree." Response 2: I got another reply but again it doesn't say too much. It basically said some members want to be closer to the club, some further away and some who are happy where the RST is now. Also some personal circumstances such as people not getting on and people who feel they have done enough and need a rest. And while letting their members know they will also be letting the 'enemy' know and could be used against them in the future. ===== Nothing there about being more militant, per se.

So far, it's just Daily Record speculation that the RST are moving towards Unionist/militant principles, and therefore should be ignored.

I now believe that the Lovenkrands deal is not happening. I'm not sure why not.

I was never a fan of either Tynecastle (uncovered, wasn't it?) or Tannadice. I much preferred the Beach End at Pittodrie.

There was no better atmosphere than the Rangers end at Hampden when it had terracing. It's a shame that the youngers ones will not be able to experience it. I'm a bit like Gisabeer. I'm knackered when I have to stand and these days I enjoy my home comforts. It's a pain having to stand at Parkhead. My mate, who has a problem with his leg, doesn't go there because he knows he will have to stand.

Good call. Fergie is more creative than Thomson and a davis fergie partnership could be excellent, but I can't see Smith going with it on a regular basis.
-
If we are playing a 4 man midfield then I'm not sure that we can afford Thomson. That is why it's a shame that we lost out on Brown. An on-form Brown beside Ferguson would be outstanding, and Brown (famliy problems not withstanding) would have been a ar better playter for us than for them.

Good shout.

I can't blame Bain for this one. There are better players available for the same money. This one lands straight at Walter and Ally's doors.
-
Dundee Utd also strongly sided with Celtic on the league extension issue.
-
Frankie, fair point, but it's not always that straightforward, I'm sure.

What David Edgar actually said: "The Rangers Supporters Trust received a huge number of complaints from members at the treatment of the club by the SPL and the SFA as the club were fighting on four fronts last season. Fans are looking for the club to express its dissapointment at this treatment. Suggestions from members already include withdrawing players from international duty, questioning participation in Cup competitions if still involved in Europe and refusing away ticket allocations from certain clubs, Dundee Utd in particular. The RST would like to stress that no decision has been made, but we will consider all suggestions at our board meeting and deliver our recommendation to the club. At this juncture, it would be wrong to rule out any course of action at this stage." ========== For what it's worth, I doubt that the RST board would vote for proposing that Gers players don't play for Scotland. My own opinion is that Rangers comes first, and there should be occasions when our players withdraw from internationals, but that already happens to an extent.

A simplified explanation is that the Board are elected by the members to represent them. It's obviously not practical to consult the membership in the thousands on every matter, but the members have the chance to express their dissatisfaction or otherwise of policies and/or Board members either at the AGM or by correspondence. The statement quoted above by Keevins is inaccurate (quelle surprise). My understanding from reading the reports in the Sunday papers is that the matter has not even been discussed at an RST board meeting so they seem some way away from "being ready to make a formal request."
