  1. The RST statement certainly appears to have been written very carefully.
  2. Here it is http://www.lynnnews.co.uk/news/Football-riot-victim39s-agony.4190060.jp
  3. Link doesn't work, mate.
  4. I'd assumed it was a team for Europe.
  5. Webster's not a right back. Whittaker's not ideal at left back. Davis is more suited to the centre. Weir's probably past it now. Not convinced about a Ferguson-Thomson partnership. Sorry. Oh, and as for Boyd......
  6. Hopefully you've now receive a reply.
  7. You've taken that too far......:admin:
  8. "RST members will be aware that four members of the Trust Board met with the Clubs Chairman and Chief Executive yesterday. The main issues discussed were around the current and future relationships between the Club and the Trust. We are pleased to report that the meeting involved a full and frank discussion and exchange of views and concluded constructively. Trust representatives briefly outlined a number of issues which members had raised, and it was agreed that correspondence would be considered prior to any possible subsequent meeting, following which a full report back will be given to Trust members." http://www.rangerssupporterstrust.co.uk/rstsite/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=219&Itemid=43
  9. That's because of the JJB deal, I assume. Bloody confusing!
  10. I doubt Weir will be first choice. Him and webster will be the back-ups to Cuellar and the new guy, who I understand isn't Simic.
  11. Because Weir is too old and Webster is unfit and may not be good enough?
  12. Are we not taking about apples and oranges? You are comparing strip sponsorship with merchandising. They get £5m from Nike. What do we get from Umbro? According to the following link, we get £6.5M. http://www.eufootball.biz/Sponsorship/1195.html If you read my previous comment, the JJB deal (different from the Umbro deal) is worth in excess of £5m to us. If we look at Celtic's accounts they had £13.3m and £14.3m of income from merchandising over the past 2 years. If you assume a margin of 20% then you will see that they are making between £2.5m-£3m.
  13. Welcome to the site, mate. Yes, rbr is correct. We spent around £3m on closure costs IIRC, so we are effectively getting £4.5m per annum, excluding savings in interest which could be worth up to £1m per annum. However do we not get money from Umbro on top of that?
  14. Hopefully this works (can't see due to firewall in work)

Yeah, they were singing that at the last old firm game. Nothing said in the press about it as usual.
  16. Why do you think the Nike deal is better for Celtic than our deals are?
  17. It's accepted in some quarters (well, by me anyway) that the JJB deal is good for the club financially. However the major downside is that the availability of merchandise has become very limited, even more so overseas, and our hugh street presence has all but disappeared. There are many stories of poor service in JJB stores and Celtic stuff being given a higher profile. Basically the club is benefitting financially but the fans and the profile of the club are suffering. Do people think it is a worthwhile cost and we were correct to go with the deal? My view is that it was correct that we went for it, and cash in the bank is more important as it allows us to strengthen our team. What do you think?
  18. Anyone else have look up the internet on that one?

    New Stadium

The casino (and the 5 star hotel) isn't happening as Glasgow never got awarded the mega-casino, and the law ended up not being changed IIRC. I doubt that there will be another casino in the area given the Alea is a 10 minute walk away. I've heard rumours of a hotel on the other side of Broomloan Road but I haven't a clue if it's part of any redevelopment plans or independent to that or pie in the sky.
  20. Yeah. What age must 26th of Foot be?

It's difficult to say as obviously the financing of such a proposal is key to it all. I'm certainly looking forward to reading the proposals when they are published.
  22. I find it hard to believe. Walter clearly showed what he thought of Boyd last season. I can't see anything that will have changed his mind.

I'm talking about the guys I go to the games with, and those that sit beside me at Ibrox, and it isn't guys who have to have targets. These guys don't boo our players. It's just their honest opinion that we are better off not starting with Boyd. Nothing to do with various media forms, including the internet. Boyd certainly gets a far better reception from the Broomloan than other parts of the ground, for example, although I obviously have no idea where you sit.

I don't see anything wrong with his comments. They accurately reflect my experience in the support.
