Yes, she was the one I referred to in previous years but didn't feel it was my place to say. There were others who were looking to stand this year and their names haven't appeared on the ballot. I don't know if their names have come out as I haven't fully read the FF threads.

It's laughable that there hasn't been an AGM yet. As well as Mark being denied the chance to stand, there's been threats made by the current board to someone else in the past to prevent then to stand. I proposed someone else this year and their name has not appeared so I presume that at least one and I think a second have also been refused the right to stand. The current C1872 board appear to be acting as a cartel and are refusing to address members' valid concerns, and we have the sleazy sight of Dave King wanting to get his cash back rather than the club getting cash and entering the fray. I'd urge any C1872 members to pass their name and membership number to Rab Marshall (or pass them to me and I can pass them on) to allow him to try and get support for an AGM.

Murray didn't have any option than to sell. The bank controlled everything and they wanted their debt cleared and this deal did that. Murray did a lot to the club, mainly by gambling and by not taking account of the potential problems, but I don't think he ever set out to deliberately damage the club, unlike most of the others that followed until the 3 bears and King took over.

Totally agree. Rangers were unincorporated between 1872 and 1899. One company then ran the club between 1899 and 2012 and another company from 2012 onwards. Likewise Celtic. Celtic PLC was incorporated in 1897. Are people trying to argue that Celtic was formed in 1897 and not 1888? However, the actual football club (the company that plays their games) is Celtic F.C Limited (formerly HMS (402) Ltd) which was formed in 2001. Was the current Celtic formed in 2001? Or perhaps a football club is not tied to the corporate body that currently operates the club. It's not a difficult concept to understand but it seems that even educated lawyers struggle with the concept.

£100K max is relatively small for many of them so they may not take part. I'm guessing that the cash from this may be earmarked for repaying Dave King for his loan plus interest and the existing ones may have baulked at giving cash to do this.

I think there was a resolution at the last few AGMs to waive the pre-emption rights, which is why they've been able to issue shares around 10 times in the past year.

Was it not 8 or 9 months? That's fairly sizeable. However it could be the EBTs he was referring to but as the case was still going through the courts at that point, and whether tax was actually due had still to be finally established, his use of "non-compliance" doesn't stack up for me, although he could be using that word to put a spin on it.

He's got a point if he's referring to the use of unpaid PAYE and NI (and VAT?) to finance the running of the club for many months. One has to wonder why HMRC allowed it to go on for so long. Were they allowing Whyte to build a hole that they hoped we'd never get out of?
