  1. Totally agree, don't see why would sign a player ineligible for European football!
  2. I just took it straight off stv news website!
  3. It was reported by stv news frankie who are usually very reliable!
  4. Don't understand why we would buy someone who is not eligible for the champions league or Europa league games if we drop into it! If this is true do u think walter is maybe just writing off the champs league this season and concentrating in going for the league in his swansong season?
  5. Nikica Jelavic has been subject to a bid from Rangers, according to Rapid Viennaââ?¬â?¢s sporting director Alfred Hoertnagl. The Croatian forward, who was linked with a move to Celtic in the January transfer window, has been attracting interest from Blackburn Rovers this summer. Hoertnagl told Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung on Monday Rangersââ?¬â?¢ bid for 24-year-old Jelavic was ââ?¬Å?not practicalââ?¬Â, before confirming the offer made by the SPL title holders, the amount of which is unknown, was short of Rapidsââ?¬â?¢ valuation. 6ft 2in Jelavic, who moved to Austria from Belgian club Zulte Waregem in 2008, scored against Celtic three times across their two Europa League matches last year. The Croatian scored Rapidââ?¬â?¢s goal in their 1-1 draw in Glasgow, before scoring twice in the first eight minutes of the 3-3 draw in Vienna. Capped five times by his country, Jelavic has just one year left to run on his contract. He scored 18 times in 33 league matches last campaign, finding the net nine times in 12 Europa League games. This season he has continued his scoring form in Europe, scoring twice against Lithuanians Suduva Marijampole in the second qualifying round of the Europa League in a 6-2 aggregate victory. Because of his involvement in European competition already this season, Jelavic would not be eligible to play in the Champions League for Rangers unless they reached the last 16. Uefa rules forbid players playing for more than one club across both of its club competitions, except for the knockout stages, where a player can represent another side provided his previous club did not take part in the same tournament.
  6. Three cheers for the real heroes, the heroes who leave there families behind for months at a time, the heroes who don't get recgonised enough for the unbelieveable selfless jobs they do and most of all the heroes who serve our queen and country! GOD BLESS THEM!!!!!! NO SURRENDER!!!!!
  7. Didn't fancy mcarthur that much neway, decent player but quite slow and would much rather Davis and edu in there.
  8. Ally McCoist has said Rangers have not made any bid for AZ midfielder Brett Holman, either as a permanent signing or on a loan deal. The club has been persistently linked with a move for the player in the last week. Speaking after Rangers arrived in Australia for their pre-season tournament in Sydney, McCoist admitted he was a fan of the Socceroos star but insisted there was no deal being discussed. ââ?¬Å?He's certainly a player I like and I know Walter [smith] likes him,ââ?¬Â he said. "I saw him a couple of times at the World Cup and he's somebody who's impressed me and he took his goals well," said McCoist. "I won't lie to you, he's a player who excites me," added McCoist. "But there's been no contact at all between the clubs with a view to getting him over." Rangers hope to sign three new players Wilson completes Liverpool switch The denial from Rangers comes after Holman told AZââ?¬â?¢s website he was unaware of any interest from the SPL champions. ââ?¬Å?I hear from others that there are rumours about Glasgow Rangers, but I know nothing,ââ?¬Â Holman said. ââ?¬Å?I have been on holiday for two weeks and no one has spoken to me about that.ââ?¬Â While Holman may not have been approached, Rangers are looking to recruit new players before the beginning of the season. Following the sale of Kevin Thomson and Danny Wilson, Rangers chief executive Martin Bain has reassured fans that moves are underway to sign replacements.
  9. The Northern Spirit club was founded in 1997, and had its first season in the league in 1998-99. Backed by Australian soccer star Harry Kewell, and featuring international players such as Graham Arnold and Robbie Slater, the club's first match at North Sydney Oval attracted a then-record regular season home crowd of 18,985. The game against Sydney Olympic resulted in a 2-0 loss for the home team, but they consistently attracted crowds of over 10,000 to their matches, and made the finals. The team's second season was not as successful, only winning 11 of their 34 games and finishing 13th. The team finished 13th the next season also, before managing 8th in 2001-02. Crowd numbers continued to dwindle, with the team moving some home matches to Manly's Brookvale Oval. Despite finishing 6th and making the finals for the second time, home crowds did not exceed 4,000 for the entire year. In the team's last season, they moved to Pittwater Rugby Park, which was a significant distance from their regular home ground, but represented the club's ambition to find new supporters by moving into new areas, especially due to a defect to rival club Parramatta Power. Current supporters found the ground very difficult to get to, and home crowds averaged less than 2,000. The club was not helped by ownership issues. An intended partnership with Mark Goldberg, then owner of English club Crystal Palace, never eventuated and the club was born with a shortfall of capital. Scottish club Glasgow Rangers bought Spirit out of debt but seriously misjudged the Australian market, believing that the club could be used to promote Rangers at the expense of local football. Rangers eventually bailed out, learning a hard lesson in the value of their own brand. Subsequent owners failed to turn the club around before the national Soccer League was shut down and the A-League established in 2005. Hope this helps!
  10. Who was asking these questions and why are they accepting the answers and not hitting back with more questions related to the subject he just answered? Or was the questions not done face 2 face, was it just questions that were sent in?
  11. I don't really know what he is telling us that we don't already know, we know we need players I would suggest more than 3 at the moment and I would reckon there will be another player or 3 to go! Is he also saying that they nd 2 sell season tickets to ensure new players come in seems to me he is bribein us although I have already renewed my ticket which u have to do in may before the transfer window opens funnily enough I don't think the supporters are being treated fairly let's face it without us there would be know club, we need respect and honest answers!
  12. The Norwegian boy was not travelling to oz as he has a game with his own team on Saturday, so I would have thought he would have featured!
  13. I still think he would score goals up here giving the chance! Neway I would still sign him just to see him mimic playing the flute at the paedo dome!
  14. If he is a fan like he says he is he would come here and take a wage within the clubs structure! Don't think it would cost that much to get him from Sunderland either as he has hardly featured for them!
  15. Sunderland striker David Healy has targeted the fulfilment of a childhood dream by making the switch to Rangers. The Northern Ireland record goalscorer has struggled for playing time with the north east outfit and ended last season on-loan at Ipswich Town. After Kris Boyd's exit, the Glasgow giants need a new marksman to keep them ahead of rivals Celtic. Speaking to BBC Sport, Healy hoped Walter Smith would make a move for him.* "I am contracted to Sunderland, so talking about leaving is not the proper thing to do," Healy said. "But if Rangers came knocking I would certainly not be saying no." The 30-year old added: "I have been linked with going to Rangers for four or five years now. "It has been well documented that I grew up supporting Rangers and my dad is a big Rangers fan, but that does not mean I am ever going to end up playing there. "I am keen to get back to Sunderland for pre-season training, get fit and see what happens." Our**provides the best breaking news online and our**football fan community is unmatched worldwide. Never miss a thing again! Hope this happens he could get back to his goalscoring exploits with us and he is rangers to the core!!!!!
  16. Not anymore craig, although we still sell our merchandise in the highstreet through Jjb stores the 5 year deal we had with jjb finished in 2008, remember we made our own strips during that spell aswell, well that is over aswell and umbro now fully make our strips, don't see what good selling our merchandise through jjb in the high streets is doing though!
  17. I would rather have marlon dingle than marlon harewood really can't see him doing a job for us, the phrase lump of wood springs to mind!
  18. there isnt a lot of they burnley fans rate him is there? Inconsistent, turns up when he wants, san dancer, salad legs, pretty boy with big head, arrogant git etc etc etc. awwwwwwwwwww nawwwwwwwwwww
  19. Did miller not score 20 plus last season? Can't really comment much on lafferty because he hasn't had a lot of games in his NATURAL posistion and when he did he was under so much pressure because of the stick he was getting he wasn't doing it until the last half a dozen games. We need to have supporters there next season not season ticket holders that are not goin to go games I think you call that glory hunting when things aren't going the teams way you stay away! Remember we are the champions here and WE WELCOME THE CHASE!!!!
  20. Although I had high hopes for thomson at rangers before his injury I think we have an able replacement in mo edu, thomson had his injury problems and he was always prone to diving in and picking up needless bookings and in my opinion edu is just as gritty and just as good if not better with the ball at his feet, and another plus is smith will be forced to play Davis in his rightful posistion in the middle of the park! As fir the rumours in the sun newspaper I would be delighted to use the thomson money to by eagles, he is a player we havnt had in a while, someone who will scream for the ball and run at players all day, puts in good deliverys and can chip in with a few goals!
  21. Christian dailly is out of contract!
