  1. Well let's hope he does a better job than his last 2 attempts where he has managed to send off 2 Rangers players and infuriate Rangers fans with countless dubious and baffling decisions. In fact reading back the match reports he has denied us penalties in 2 games as well. I just hope he avoids all media outlets for the whole week, and turns up on Sunday and gets every major decision correct, gets most of the minor ones right, and takes a harsh line on persistent fouling. If he does that, I am confident we will win as we are the better side, and are playing at home.
  2. I'd go with Gordon Hutton Berra Kenneth Wallace Dorrans Fletcher Brown Adam McFadden Fletcher Play Brown to hopefully get injured, no bears to avoid injury, and no ex-beggers as you dont want to get too badly humped by a good Czech side. I cant believe he has picked Iwelumo, possibly the worst player i have ever seen play for Scotland (beggers aside) I was expecting better from Levein I must admit, why is he picking no-marks like Hartley and Robson? Awful players that I'm sorry are not still picking up wages at the paedo-dome.
  3. No I think I knew what you were meaning when I answered your post, and my answer still stands. If they are not interested come out and tell everyone. Similarly, if they are considering buying the club, make yourself public and answer both the personal and business questions like yours and many others. For something that would be so easy to do, and would more than likely find support from the fans, and reluctance to do so must leave us questioning either their motives or their judgement. Even the most strict confidentiality clause would not prevent a statement being issued saying who they are and that they are in talks, at whatever stage, with a view to buying the club. And that goes for anyone out there looking to buy the club, not just the Park family.
  4. That is the whole point of the article. We just dont know what his plans are, if he has enough funds, what timescale he is working to, because he refuses to go public and get the fans behind him. If the rumours are true, he has been working this deal long enough to surely be in a position to make a public statement either way. He must surely see that the fans would get behind him if he is serious about buying out Murray. If the rumours of his bid are untrue, it is the easiest thing in the world to release a statement confirming that he is not interested. It is the middle ground of refusing to say anything publicly one way or the other that is having a negative impact on the fans.
  5. I knew if I stuck around long enough I could finally agree with you on something Wabash For all we are hearing that he will never return this time for sure, I remember all too well what happened last time after McClelland had tidied up the books for him to come back and f*ck things up all over again.
  6. I had thought the game at Fir Park v Gretna on a midweek night in perhaps Jan of 08 wasn't live, but may be mistaken. It was a rearranged game. Dont know why I am thinking it wasnt on the tv. I'm sure others can clarify.
  7. Not only the Champions, but reigning cup holders as well!! :spl:
  8. If he put "Boss told me on GN" do you think the thread would have remained on topic for long?
  9. It could be that the Killie game does not get shown live. In that same round of fixtures (played on 20th March) SKY have picked the Edinburgh derby to show live. ESPN have not picked a game for that round so that may be a possibility.
  10. Friday thread to remind bears to get their predictions in. I'm having a dreadful run just now, just cant get any 3 pointers at all. Perhaps I shouldn't take Timmy to lose 4-0 every week!!
  11. A really hard one to call as nobody got a grip of the game at all, so I'd probably go for Boyd just for saving a point for us from nothing. McGregor had little to do but no clean sheet Papac beaten a few times defensively and poor going forward, gets credit for assist though Broadfoot - Really poor defensively Weir - Average but lost man a couple of times Bougherra - Best defender but unusually poor distribution Whittaker - A shocker, nothing came off for him and offered nothing going forward until very late in the game and chose wrong option too often Davis - Worst display in months, in preferred central role as well. Close with free kick. McCulloch - Another stupid booking, won lots of headers in midfield but was poor on ground. Naismith - Everything went wrong for him, including harsh free kick that led to Well goal, astonished he came back out ofr 2nd half. Miller - Still looked unfit to me, lacked sharpness Boyd - Starved of supply, preditors instinct remained for the one mistake an otherwise excellant Well defence made. Subs - Novo looked totally uninterested, Lafferty tried without success. Against better opposition we would certainly have lost the game, but on another day we could have had a penalty and Davis free kick goes in and we win the game easily. I'm hoping it works as the boot up the backside and we come out fighting against Hibs on Sunday.
  12. The unfortunate but very real situation is that we, as a support, are so fractured and split that there is absolutely nobody we will all get behind that is just a fan, or fans rep, or such like. That is why it has to be either a whiter than white, Rangers supporting multi-millionaire who is not afraid to put his head over the parapet and declare his interest and plans for the club, or a former player of great stature and integrity that will embrace all fans groups and allow himself to be the PR figurehead against the current situation. In the absence of this, the situation is such that we are left with small groups of well-intentioned supporters who want to do something positive and proactive, and that they will be sneered at by other supporters who do not agree with their methods. The whole situation is far more sad than it is surprising, and all the while far more important than to allow personal issues with whichever organisation/group of fans is organising any particular course of action at any given time. Wether the situation is as bad as we are being led to believe by some, or as manageable as we are led to believe by others, surely no Rangers fan can be happy with the off-field performance of the club this last few years, and especially the last 18 months. What we do about it is entirely another matter.
  13. In amongst protests and meltdowns and all that other unimportant stuff, please remember there is a league game between Motherwell and Hamilton that is included in the predictor. The upcoming midweek full programme of games is also available, with our match at Fir Park and timmy trying to get revenge on Hearts at the Piggery for their league cup defeat amongst the matches.
  14. There is no need for it to be a SKY game for any protest to succeed. IF organised properly and professionally, the media would send along teams to report on it, no matter when and where it took place. As such, a protest for the Hibs game may have some small immediate effect, and may be the start of something bigger, but I have to agree with Frankie that stepping back a bit, getting orgainsed and, dare I say it, unified, would be a much better way of doing things.
  15. This is also the bit I dont really get. Muir is employed by Murray through PPG. Yet all we hear is that he is the turnaround specialist for banks, and has been put in place by the bank to get their money back. Although if Murray's complete empire is in trouble (as we know it most certainly is) and the bank have put them into their intensive care unit, effectively running the empire then I suppose Muir can be used by the bank, whilst being paid by PPG, to try to tidy everything up, starting with RFC, for a bit fat fee of course to him personally. Not sure exactly, and we certainly ain't going to be told anytime soon, after all we are merely the paying customers and minority shareholders.
  16. But but but but Keano is a pure legend an that man no. He'll pure score millions so he will. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Timmy is going to go bust this summer with their "gamble". 10 clear and loving it.
  17. There is no way in hell Shittu would appease the fans if Bougherra was sold, nor any loan signing within our wage budget. I would happily go with what we have got, and have always looked at this window from the outgoing point of view rather than incoming. If we only lose Mendes, i'll be reasonably satisfied, given the scenario we were told about a couple of months ago. With Timmy buying up every available reject they can afford while flogging their more "timmy-minded" contingent, i'm more confident than ever of numbers 53 and 8 coming to a trophy room on the south side of Glasgow come mid-May.
  18. I did hear that rumour going round at the match on Saturday, and also the McArthur had signed rumour. But as the guy who was being told about McArthur replied that he had just spoken to McArthur's uncle in the pie queue and he knew nothing about it, it was quickly dismissed. As for Petrov, not in our wage structure so a complete non-starter. Might be on Walter's wish list, but financially impossible I would imagine. City dont exactly need to get players off their books now do they, never mind good players.
  19. Bringing this back onto the topic in hand, I watched the player quite closely during our recent run of 3 games against the Accies as I have heard for a long time the rumours that Walter really rates the kid, and he is a big bluenose and waiting for us to make our move. It is fair to say that while the boy has some good vision and a decent engine, he was poor in the three matches and failed to have any control on any game, despite us playing poorly for large parts of all 3 games. While 3 games might be enough for Ewan Chester to make his mind up about the player, I wouldn't write McArthur off for not lighting up the place in 3 games against the Champions, but it seems to me he is nowhere near the finished article, and would struggle to find the consistency required at a big club, much like Thomson, Whittaker etc have done in coming from a wee Scottish club to the Rangers. I also think it is fair to say he has not progressed the way many had predicted he would, so any valuation of him would have to be much more realistic and certainly not in 7 figures, more like the £250K-£500K mark. Of course Hamilton have invested heavily on the boy and believe he is their financial saviour with a big money move imminent given the interest shown from down south over the last couple of years, but that seems to have all gone quiet, and it could be implied that those teams have also lost interest due to his lack of progress. Could be worth a punt at a realistic fee or as a Bosman, but anything over £1M would be seen as a big mistake by this bear.
  20. 5 more SPL wins in a row will see us Champions, i'm sure. The 5th game in that sequence is the OF game at the end of Feb, so the MINIMUM points advantage would be 10 points, with only 10 games left. Our 5 against Falkirk(H), Motherwell(A), Hibs(H), St Johnstone(A) and timmy at Ibrox are certainly not easy and with the exception of tomorrow's game are all games we could drop points if we do not play well, but surely with Timmy in complete turmoil and in-fighting we must focus on just quietly winning our games and building the pressure, and sitting back and enjoying the Comedy Gold of the footy-phone-ins and Timmy work-mates in meltdown mode.
  21. Thanks for the link Amo, but I wouldn't believe Wikipedia if it told me today was Friday.
  22. It's that Friday feeling again. Dont forget your predictions guys for the weekend. They are also letting you put in revised predictions for the two games that were postponed over Christmas and are being played next midweek, involving timmy at Killie and another game. I'm doing rotten this last few weeks, so hopefully I can get a couple right tomorrow, including a 4-0 win for the Champions-elect (or is that too soon?)
  23. Cant think who you must be thinking of there MF, but Bentleys and an Ulster fry are coming to mind for some strange reason
  24. Been doing quite well recently in the bounce games so I hope this move can give him some experience and education and he comes back ready to challenge to get into the first team, as worked well for McGregor and Adam to name but two.
