  1. 'Lack of direction' is a bollox argument Norris. Results are what count the most in football & lack of direction wouldn't even be mentioned if we hadn't had some terrible results lately.

People actually talk about Walter as being poor at bringing through youth players, but in reality there's an absolute shit load of players that have gone out on loan to gain important experience while he's been back & we've currently got 1 or 2 U19's in our starting line ups. The crazy thing is that it's not guys like Fleck or Wilson who are letting the team down, it's the higher earners & ultimately the manager for making piss poor team selections.

IMO Smith should be given this season without being harassed by the GTF brigade. I hope he retires having led the club to another league title.

I dont really see that we have an option , we have no money to get another manager of any quality in , even then they would want money for players and again we have none

  2. Isn't it strange how often the words don't match the reality. I've also noticed a growing intolerance and tendancy towards closed shop mentality. Funny what goes around comes around. It's a mystery to me what on earth you could have been banned for, apart from not automatically jumping into line and agreeing with everyone else.

Although I post regularly on some forums and occasionally in others, much to my surprise I've found my original thoughts on Gersnet completely contradicted and I think you'll go a long way to find a more agreeable place to debate and share opinion - or a more tolerant community (or I'm damned sure I wouldn't have survived). That's tolerant, not easy or forgiving, which is how it should be. I don't mean to sound like a brown nose, just saying what I think.

I have to agree I have probably learned more and had my own beliefs questioned on here more than in all the years I spent posting on FF , also as I said to UCB it's funny how FF is now almost completely behind the RST where as a year or so ago it was 100% anti RST

  3. Two words.

    Smoke. Mirrors.

RBR - You're wasting your time on him.

Cheers Totti I realise that , I had a we bit of fun with him last night but at his age he's obviously getting a bit past it in the upstairs dept .

  4. I posted this on a reply to that spanner , spanner , It was Duffy who contacted king and gave him the heads up on this proposal and that king could quote him on it , he would give no more details only saying more details would come out in the next few weeks , this was in the form of a phone call at approx 4 pm friday , now given that the deadline for the evening times and herald is 6.30 it didn't leave them much time to get the story written properly as the two papers had to be completly rejigged the final copy only going to Cambuslang at 7.30pm, I will know more next week but this is far from a done deal , what is certain is that Murray is playing no part in this anymore , he is totally perifferal

  5. It is now time for me to withdraw from the pointless discussion and speculation brought about by the remark made by WS, with regard to the bank.

The Bank has made their position clear, the Chairman has made the position of the club clear, and the former Chairman has made the position of the Parent company clear in a two part interview with the Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday.

For whatever reasons there are those who flatly contradict all three parties, apparently they are better placed to judge the situation, better placed and more knowledgeable than the three main players.

I shall continue to watch the efforts of the "experts" to prove how clever they are, while in reality tying themselves in knots.

I believe one of the "experts" is having lunch with someone "close" to the action today, I think large dollops of humble pie will be the order of the day. (http://tinyurl.com/yaejh4r)

The Rangers will continue to dumbfound the critics and speculators Miami or Disney based, business as usual will be and is the order of the day at Ibrox.

    http://sport.scotsman.com/rangersfc/Interview-Sir-David-Murray-in.5867157.jp

I take it that is for my benefit , well so be it , I am no expert I just read the same as you and listen to those I respect and have known and trusted for a number of years .

Firstly I would not believe anyhing that comes out of Murrays mouth , this man has lied , lied and lied again over the years and his mismanageent of our club has led us to where we are today in the mire , now you can continue with your " we are all right " stance that's your perogative however the facts are far from that .

As for this guy Duffy the truth is he contacted King , not the other way around , no details of his plans were put to King or really anything other than King could quote him and that he was putting proposals together and further details would be made available very shortly .

Now the other thing about the timing of this is that another paper were about to do a job on Duffy so whether this was a pre-emptive move no one really knows , all of this came in a phone call at 4 pm on Friday , now the evening times and the Herald's deadline for print is 6.30 on Friday night they eventually got this out at the back of 7 after redoing the two papers , that's why some of the details especially about Duffy's past business ventures were very sketchy and rushed , more will come out this week but this is far from any where near a done deal.

Also you put a great deal on what wasn't an interview but a political broadcast by the SDM party that even Gordon Brown's spin doctors woud have been proud of , as for selling his prize asset in Bothwell St for £20 million less than value and that it also has a 5 year 100% lease , that is being done because he thinks it's a great time to sell get real .

As for you last coment about" business as usual will be and is the order of the day " I take it you believe further cuts are immenent as that seems to be the only order of the day a Ibrox just now and for the last year and a half

  6. Did you get banned - I saw you take some flack but thought you handled it well. I thought the people running VB made a big point about free speech and everyone being entitled to their views without censure. It would be disappointing to think that's a fiction too.;)

yes my account has been suspended till next sunday , I have e-mailed the admin/postmaster but had no reply , I thought the guy was a wee bit out of order stating he would believe SDM before anything that appeared on FF , I dont really see the point of that to be honest

  7. Are the club on board with this then? I'm assuming that they're not & that this Duffy rumour is currently an RST-based initiative? If so, it would mean that it's not a case of 'Rangers opening the club up to supporters in a meaningful way', but more a case of that being requested of the club by the RST?

That's a much better way of saying what I wanted to say , damn I need to get out , see you all tomorrow

  8. is is true then all well and good QUOTE=Union City Blue;180195]A new, lead, potential investor is quoted in the media today discussing membership schemes and supporter involvement. If you think about it, that is massive progress in itself.

Pro-Trust and anti-Trust is petty and irrelevant IMHO. It's about Rangers opening the club up to supporters in a meaningful way.

It really depends if this guy is the real deal or just using us for his own ends , I am having lunch tomorrow with a very good friend whom is very close to this , will let you know more then , if this is proper then all well and good until then I stay a sceptic

  9. They say and rightly so, that knowledge be the food of life, I see you are starving.:)

Oh spanner your really struggling now , I expected much much better from you than a very poor one liner , not much fun having to think for yourself is it , much better your usual rehashing of other peoples points of view , right I'm off out cant wait to hear your thoughts tomorrow , I really cannot wait , seriously I,m all excited , every days like xmas waiting for your literary presents :whistle:

  10. :D understandable mate :D

I tell you what UCG , first time I've been of FF for a while , well after getting banned from Vanguardbears for sticking up for BarryBaldy but that's another story ,but since when did FF get such a hardon for the RST .

I have never seen so many pro Trust threads , as a lifetime member myself it good to see , I take it the RSt's membership must be going through the roof

  11. "Rangers have £122m of assets and a £30m overdraft. Does that mean it's a bad business? No. I don't think they are in financial trouble - very far from it. Panic buttons have been pressed for some odd reason."

    http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/scottish/scottish_news/622898/Graham-Duffy-vows-to-let-fans-see-bid-to-take-over-Rangers.html

So Financial Times , Racing post , Daily Record and now News of the World , hmmm interesting

  12. Totti , I used to share your view on the trust and as a lifetime member still agree with fan ownership and am also a fan of David Edgar as I believe the passion he shows is genuine , however I also had a debate with Maineflyer after which I had to seriously question my beliefs as he asked questions that i had neither considered or had answers to , and it's only after having these discussions and also reading other posters views that we all begin to see the bigger picture .

The night of the big cull of the RST a year or so ago is still a watershed as power was grasped away from the original board for others personnal reasons , that is still my opinion and led me to get ban from FF for asking or rather giving my view , Mark Dingwall keeps getting mentioned in not a very good way whenever certain subjects arise and I am not sure some are entirely happen if the RST is trying to muscle their way to a position of strength if as we are led to believe they have been holding talks with potential new owners .

  13. Spanner: you'll not fin anyone here who is not pro-rangers. My point being I just wanted to understand where you stood on those individuals. I'll state mine as a sort of prid pro quo:

    SDM: anti although previously pro.

WS: pro but my patience running very thin

AMc: Pro. Not sure he's manager material yet by I'd give him a go

Spanner has no opinions just takes the piss and doesn't answer anything just posts more questions , he's very very obvious now , best to ignore really

  14. The problem is it is you who cannot see, there is no such thing as a free lunch, success often comes at a price and as our chairman said the club is a going concern, with manageable debt, or do you expect everything for nothing.

Murray's biggest fault has been his loyalty to people, who have been proved to be able only to buy their way out of trouble, and often unsuccessfully.

So there you have it folks , this king of Industry is too loyal and it's everyone else's fault . never mind who appointed them in the first place , it's all a big mirage , everything in the garden is rosey

    .

Spanner what colour exactly is the sky in your world , in fact dont bother answering as it will only be another rhetorical question :giruy::giruy:

  15. Let me reiterate, Muir works for Murray not the bank, the club is a going concern that has a manageable debt, there have been no overtures for due diligence regarding any club takeover despite the pish spewed by Bollox King, Duffy is an ex- bankrupt I take it he has been discharged, that in itself does not make him a bad person, and nothing if anything will happen until the restructure of MIH debts. Where you get the idea that SDM will rise at the AGM you will have to take credit it for that , I doubt he will appear. I take it you see 32 trophies as a lack of success. :)

I can wait until the AGM my good fellow, then we will see who is flushed , those were your words and we will wait with baited breath , as for the last 9 years , an absolute debacle culminating with Murray running away and hiding behind John McLelland , as for te first 11 , as I have posted many times we were so far ahead of every other team that we should have been set for ever , scouting , youth set up finance , instead we are a shambles of a club and where's the man responsible , he's done a bunk again but this time not of his own choice , though you will disagree wiith that as well

  16. Much as I am very wary of SDM, I would think that 32 trophies during his tenure entitles him to be cut some slack if not respect for his word, 32 trophies is still 32 trophies.

Spanner as much as I believe you are a wind up merchant not even you can believe that dross , the question of are we better off now after 21 years of Murray's stewardship is an absolute certain no .

We should heve been set for good with scouting , finance and youth set up the envy of the rest of the UK such was our advantage when he came to own us , yet here we are ,scrambling around looking for Bosman's or loan signings , our esteemed chairman doing a bunk for the second time ( though this time he wont be allowed back ), the bank effectively running the show , though I realise you have a polar opposite opinion to the rest of us .

The sooner this sorry mess comes to an end the better ,but according to you Murray will arise at the AGM and return triumphant , and announcements will be made that will make a fool of all of us and show you as a genius I cannot wait for the 7th Dec

  17. he lack of options is really going to cost us , the ability to get by by playing strikers out wide in midfield , or central midfielders out wide or as today sticking with young Fleck when there is no players with the ability to play the role can only work so many times .

Why we kept trying to go down the center is beyond me , but we are where we are , I really hate wishing my life away but the sooner this season is over the better
