  1. For anyone who's maybe interested in taking part, but not quite sure what the format is like, here's last season's final league standings table: And here's a photo of Kate Moss modelling Little General's GPL prize for last season.
  2. So what about some of the regulars who hardly missed any games last season? TheTinMan99, The Real PapaBear, Tannochsidebear, sairdyy, Mountain Bear, compo, BrahimHemdani, surely some of you guys are taking part again?
  3. Aye, but you missed 24 games last season pete.
  4. Ok, between the names put down here and a handful of regulars who've entered predictions for tomorrow's game we've so far got 26 players and I'm sure that number will increase as more folk join in, so we've got a decent sized league already. So far the 2015/16 season GPL players are: aftershock BEARGER Bearman Bluedell blueflag bluesea75 cdynamo1 forlanssister gisabeer Gribz ian1964 les186 Little General onevision pete rbr Rousseau Ser Barristan Selmy Siam69 Steve1872 stewarty the gunslinger trublusince1982 Whosthedado Yorkshire Bear Zappa
  5. Great start everyone! We've already got 20 predictions posted for tomorrow's game and there's certain to be quite a few more posted between now and kick-off tomorrow. There's no deadline for folk to join the league, so if you want to have a go this season, then get your predictions posted for our Hibs game at Easter Road tomorrow! Do it here - Predictions for Hibernian v Rangers - Challenge Cup R1 (GPL game 1)
  6. If true, then that would be a very interesting development. It's not exactly the coolest of things for a player to do, but it's also completely understandable in certain situations and this is one of them. It should also mean that Hibs can't hold us to ransom looking for silly money, which is a bonus, but an important one because we've given Hibs an absolute fortune in the past decade, something which their fans conveniently forget when bad mouthing us for our times of overspending.
  7. I'd actually be a bit pissed off if we spent anything over £350-400k on Scott Allan because we played against Hibs 7 times last season and while he's obviously a decent player, the lad didn't look like he was worth any more than that. I'd be happy enough if we signed him, but not for silly money. If someone wants to buy him for silly money, then good luck to them, but it shouldn't be us.
  8. Nice one, I'll see what I can come up with later on.
  9. You must be preparing a stand-up routine for the Fringe. WTFringe!
  10. Great turn out again and there's no deadline for joining in, so anyone who fancies having a go this season can join the league at any time. That's the predictions thread for the Hibs game on Saturday now posted, so get your predictions in! Do it here - Predictions for Hibernian v Rangers - Challenge Cup R1 (GPL game 1)
  11. They scored against Celtic tonight after 7 mins. I hope they did that 'toilet' celebration, lol.
  12. Still gutted I didn't win it last season when I had the best results. Those pesky f*@king double point cup games!
  13. He tweeted the following from Johannesburg earlier today before he started tweeting about his interview with Dave King....
  14. Folks, Everyone is welcome to take part and I'm starting taking names for this coming season's Gersnet Prediction League ahead of the start of the new competitive season on Saturday. The GPL winner at the end of the season will get a very limited edition Gersnet polo shirt and also get the 'GPL Champion' custom forum rank won by Whosthedado 2 seasons ago and Little General last season. The competition format and rules will be the same as last season and can be read here: GPL - League rules So, if you fancy your chances at predicting the results of our games in the SPFL Championship and our games in Cup competitions, then please put your name down by posting "I'm in" (or something like that) on the thread here. Cheers! PS - The predictions thread for Saturday's Challenge Cup game against Hibs will be posted later tonight or tomorrow. Link to last season's main GPL thread (just for quick reference): Gersnet Prediction League 2014/15 (prediction league for Rangers games only!)
  15. Jim White might primarily be out there to take in the Springboks v All Blacks game in Jo'burg on Saturday. The world sports press will be swarming all over Jo'burg over the next few days.
  16. I've moved these posts about the U20 game to a new thread dB.
  17. I'm pretty sure he's still regarded as being in the first team squad, so it would be interesting to find out why he's going to Ireland with Durrant's U20 squad.
  18. I would seriously just permanently ban any player who bites another. It's the action of unhinged kids, not pro football players.
  19. The lad Tavernier is meant to be a cracking player. He's also a family man and really looks after himself, so he fits right into the manager's idea of adding quality both on and off the pitch. As for the lad Waghorn, I don't know much about him, but he's obviously got a good level of experience, seems really hungry and could easily prove to be a gem.
  20. This is brilliant news. Welcome to Rangers lads!
  21. A supposedly professional football player biting another player should carry a permanent ban from playing football in this country.
  22. I expected us to be trying to bring Tavernier in on loan as opposed to buying him, but if we're buying him, then even better. I just didn't think Wigan would let a player like him leave on the cheap, but I suppose they're in a bit of trouble financially having a big squad and getting relegated. Fingers crossed that the deal gets done.
  23. I can see and understand your point of view mate, but I don't think I agree with it because it's not as if we're talking about a million or couple of million quid a season, we're only talking about a couple of hundred grand.
  24. If the majority of Championship/2nd tier clubs trust Drysdale and Mulraney to act in the interests of all of the Championship clubs, then it wouldn't make sense to vote in someone from Rangers or Hibs when there's a very good chance Rangers and Hibs will be promoted by next May.
  25. Truth is, they're actually there for all of the 2 foot tall football players....
