  1. Would love to see him play at Parkhead as anyone who remembers the League Cup QF there a couple of years ago will know what he is capable of (scored both in a 2-0 Hearts win). Sadly he'd probably need a month to get up to match fitness now. WTF is he doing in the reserves?
  2. Aye, I saw big Velicka got a goal. Why Walter spent £1m we didn't have on him and then refused to play him we will probably never find out. I mean £1m in our current state FFS. A good player who I'm convinced would do a job for us. Scored a vital winner at Falkirk on the first day of the season and hasn't been seen since. At first Walter said he had an illness, then it was tiredness because of the amount of football he had apparently played in Norway. Well fuck me Walter what is it now that's kept Kenny "crisp poke" Miller in the team ahead of him despite an atrocious run of 'form'?
  3. I would suggest that if his shot had gone in against the filth at Ibrox you wouldn't have made that post.
  4. If we lose the league, it'll be down to our failures against the St Mirrens, the Dundee Utds and the Aberdeens. We know we can beat the chimps, home or away. However that's over two years since Walter's return and he still hasn't proven he can win away from home on anything like a consistent basis. It's absolutely essential to winning titles. Celtic have managed it in the last three seasons. We haven't.
  5. He's not a blood and thunder type of player though. And neither is he a shrinking violet from what I can see. He's had a couple of shaky games in the last few weeks - St Johnstone springs to mind - but show me a more consistent player at the club these past two years, other than Kevin Thomson. The incident you mention at Parkhead for Samaras' goal was the first mistake I can remember him making for rather a long time. Players with far more natural ability than Papac have flopped at Ibrox through lack of application. You don't have to like Papac as a player, but no Rangers fan should question his commitment to the cause.
  6. Seems strange they want to broadcast this one - the last non-OF domestic game at Ibrox I can remember being televised was a Scottish Cup replay against Dunfermline in 2003.
  7. Sasa Papac, now there's a man who deserved a league winner's medal last season. Don't think there'll be any shortage of motivation on his part.
  8. Therein lies the difference between the Rangers and the Celtic. If it's not Samaras it's big heid Caldwell waxing lyrical about how better they are than us and what they are going to do to us. Could Peter Grant not have told them it doesn't work? How many medals did he win again?
  9. I believe he had a haemorrage of some sort. Sad loss, as he wasn't that old.
  10. I was at a gig in Glasgow during the Euro 2004 qualifier 2nd leg with Holland. Guy next to me said it finished 6-0. "Who to?" says I
  11. This'll be the same Samaras who mouthed off before we pumped them 4-2.
  12. Whittaker, now there's someone that infuriates me. He definitely has something Broadfoot doesn't, and has the potential to be a good player for us for a number of years. He's just not doing it this season for whatever reason. I hope he sorts it out and makes something of himself at Ibrox. Too many good players have fulfilled their potential after leaving Rangers.
  13. Dare I say it, Kirk Broadfoot has been one of our better performers this season. In any case, any Rangers player criticised for having "wimited abiwity" by the Scotland manager should be able to rely upon us for support. I'd love us to have Cafu at right-back but there have been plenty worse players than Kirk Broadfoot at Ibrox in recent years. It doesn't help him that his predecessor was the best right-back Scotland has produced for 20 years. Sorry kinda hijacked the thread. Neilson? No ta.
  14. "during a heated session, the winger repeatedly called Boruc a "fat p****"." "When Boruc's temper snapped he raced to the Republic of Ireland international and swung a punch but failed to connect and fell to the ground." The fat bigot can't even punch properly now. So Boruc has gangster connections, has let his weight get out of control, has split from his wife after playing away with a young thing, has been caught fighting, drinking and smoking dubious looking cigarettes, not to mention his, err, peculiar performances this season. More trouble in store for the roly poly goalie? Whatever it is, that rancid club will have started the cover-up already. They have great experience in that field I've heard.
  15. In saying that I'd have him on the bench as he's looked reasonably threatening in the games I've seen him since his return.
  16. Very true. Football is the national game in Scotland, yet Murrayfield is better than Hampden in just about every way you could imagine, even leaving aside the fact it has 15,000 more seats. Any rugby fan visiting Hampden must feel like they've travelled back two decades in time. And that's after the much-vaunted rebuild. I don't actually mind Hampden, but we could and should have done so much better.
  17. Paedo harbourers 0 - 1 Rangers Weir;)
  18. I'd have forgiven McLeish for going there with a 4-5-1 during the dark days when the mopes were five times the team we were, in an effort to avoid a battering. But the situation is completely different now. By far the weakest area of Celtc's team are their centre back pairing. While the mhedia try desperately to dub them Scotland's new W Miller and McLeish, anyone watching them this season can see they are vulnerable from first minute to last against the most pedestrian of sides. It's an absolute waste playing one up front against them. I'd have though Smith would've realised that by now, given events of the last 12 months or so. If he plays for the draw we will get beat, no two ways about it. Bayonets fixed and in about them.
  19. Playing 4-5-1 would be a far bigger mistake than merely playing Miller. Whether it's Miller or Boyd, the fact is that there isn't a striker at the club who can play up front on their own. Cousin was the last player we had with the intelligence to do it with any kind of effect. If we go with one up front on the 15th we deserve to get beat. Miller shouldn't be anywhere near the first team given his current form, but if he's going to play it has to be as part of a two man attack. Would have loved to have seen Novo up against Heid It and Hoof It once more.
  20. Wonder how long it will take Burley and the Tartan Army to run him down. I'll go for two weeks.
  21. We really are taken for mugs aren't we. It would surprise me greatly if a man of tradition such as Shearer would have opted for a minute's applause. As I said earlier, he was the sort of man 21st century Rangers would do everything to disassociate themselves with so it's no wonder he was treated with such disdain in death.
  22. Care to elaborate? Get a feeling it's something I won't like - Bobby Shearer was the sort of man who would not be made welcome at Murray's Rangers.
  23. I'll take it. No Smith, Conroy, Murphy or Brines (who can't do anything from the tunnel thankfully).
  24. As another one bites the dust, Fergie simply marches on...
  25. You see it clearly in the post match interviews these days. They're all trained in how to deal with the media, with the end result that all you get is zombie-like cliches like "it's not about me it's about the team", "the most important thing was the three points", etc. Listen to Steven Gerrard after any Liverpool game. The man has the charisma of a wet cardboard box.
