Celtic could win 10 in a row and the Champions League and I still don't think they'd ever get over Helicopter Sunday. That particular scar runs deep with the bheasts.
-
I didn't feel a shred of nerves going into Helicopter Sunday. We were dead and buried and had nothing to lose. If tomorrow goes wrong....I just can't bear to think about if tomorrow goes wrong.

Thought I was doing ok, now I'm ready to start chewing my arm.

Aye, probably be easiest if you just ask for one pic though Videos from Edwardian times are likely to be thin on the ground...

Disappointed for Inverness but the league table doesn't lie, they simply weren't good enough.

"Helicopter Thursday". That was laughable. Must they copy everything we do?

Interesting the scum only got 84 points in 06/07. Our turmoil deflected most eyes away from how poor they were as well. There was actually a feature in FourFourTwo magazine a few months ago about the Top 10 'worst champions ever', and the filth's tainted title of 2007/08 was in it. Whatever the reasons though, financial or otherwise, your main point about declining standards is absolutely correct. It was around 2004 that both teams lost their genuine European class players (Larsson, De Boer etc.), and you can see that from the stats above.

St Mirren to go down on goal difference? Just how delightful would that be...

Manager Walter Smith insists Rangers' desire for Scottish Premier League glory should count for more than anything Celtic say. Victory at Dundee United on Sunday would guarantee the title and end a run of three consecutive Celtic successes. However, Celtic striker Georgios Samaras said his team were better and deserve to win the championship. "The motivation to win a championship comes from within," said Smith. "That's good motivation." In what is sure to be a tense finale to the season, Celtic can overhaul Rangers' two-point lead on the final day if Smith's side drop points at Tannadice and the defending champions beat Hearts. But Smith is confident his players are aware of the demands at Ibrox and will not need any extra spur from Samaras's comments. The Greek international suggested Rangers would be unworthy champions but Smith insisted: "That's a poor motivation for anybody. "Everybody in Scotland has opinions. We read them every day and we listen to them every day. It's just something that happens. "If that's the player's opinion, then fine. I always say to players that's not a good motivation. "If you have to grasp onto something else all the time, then that's not the proper motivation." Smith enjoyed great success during his first spell at Ibrox, steering the club to their nine-in-a-row success in the late 1990s. He returned at a time when the Ibrox club was in disarray following Paul Le Guen's disastrous 200-day tenure and now has the chance to end a period of Celtic dominance. But Smith claims the weight of expectation is no greater this time around. "I don't feel an added pressure," he explained. "I knew the expectations when I came back a second time. "Even the first time, you know you are putting yourself in the position with a major club that you have to win. That's what you have to do. "It's not an added pressure, it's just something that's there and you have to handle it." Smith was also quick to refute suggestions that his future at Rangers will not be determined by whether they win the championship or not this weekend. A final-day triumph could allow Smith to walk away from the dugout and take up a director of football role, while paving the way for his assistant Ally McCoist to take over But the former Everton and Scotland boss was tight-lipped about the prospect of any changes taking place this summer. "There has been a lot of talk about my own future," he said. "We will see. "There is nothing that will happen in the next few days that will determine my future one way or another - unless the chairman says otherwise!" http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/rangers/8064341.stm

An unrepentant Bluenose is our Jeff.
-
If he wants to win the game, Novo. If he wants to sit tight and see what happens, someone else.

Quality reply from Jeff to one of the moaning tims:- "Hibs 0 Celtic 0 !!!!"

Welcome McD

I still can't get over the brass neck of them writing that after last season. That's almost unbelievable. If they didn't exist we'd have to make them up.
-
Bwahahahahaha!!!! That is an absolute fuckin classic! The guy that posted that is welcome to approach me at 2.50pm on Sunday and ask me if it's an "empty and pyrrhic victory"...bwahahaha....

Ach, I'll settle for any sort of win and chimp-on-chimp fighting at the Piggery.

From the Ukranian miners applause, Phil O'Donnell-gate (then playing after Tommy Burn’s death because “it’s what Tommy would have wanted” apparently), turning the PO'D memorial match v Motherwell into a title celebration, ‘sporting integrity’, the 'tour of Japan', wallowing in the trouble in Manchester and exploiting it for their own ends, mock Famine Song outrage, attacking poppy sellers, spitting on the graves of our war dead, celebrating the death of one of Rangers’ most dedicated fans in Garry Lynch, trying to get our fans into trouble with the authorities at every opportunity whether the offence be trumped up or not, the IRAokes at every away match, Novo death threats, the constant, unpunished diving of Nakamura and McDonald, wrecking seats across Scotland when things don't go their way (or do, as in the recent reserve match at Ibrox), and now this pish over Bougherra. Our greatest rivals have been an absolute cancer on the game and Scottish society these past two years, and if there's any justice in the world the royal rampant Rangers will come through and win this championship, sending the bheasts into a long, painful summer. Think of all the chimps sending UEFA youtube links trying to get us punished, think of Graham Spiers’ one man campaign to UEFA after Villareal, think about Craig Levein’s despicable antics last season, think of Zander Diamond pumping his fists at us on that fateful night at Pittodrie, think of the SPL and the referees cheating us out of last season’s title, think of the glee from the rest of Scotland when we got beat in Manchester, think of the delight they took in the rioting and the pictures of our injured fans they laughed at, think of the Aberdeen fans celebrating the deaths of our 66 absent friends, think of George Burley and the Tartan Army’s ongoing campaign against the Rangers, think of the mock outrage over Kyle Lafferty’s simulation, think of the incessant, unrelenting media campaign intent on tarnishing our good name, whether players or fans. Think of all the poison and all the hatred thrown at our great club these past four years. We are better than all of them. This is our time. Come away the Glasgow Rangers.

No problem with Drogba's decision, he acted like a clown. My gripe is that while both Drogba and the referee let themselves down that night, only one is being punished for it.

...while the referee is allowed to carry on with his job...

Walter Smith: Title crunch will not decide my Rangers future
Norris Cole replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
And don't the bheasts know it. It's why they mock us as 'Dignity FC'. -
Rangers playing it smart? Celtic's media own goal?
Norris Cole replied to Super_Ally's topic in Rangers Chat
It's the Celtic way, no class whatsoever. Fortunately for us they never learn. -

One of the greatest days in my life. My brain could hardly compute what had happened. -
My train gets into Dundee around 11am. I'm going to need a few drinks before 1pm to get through the game.

Quite simply the slowest week of my life, had butterflies since full-time at Easter Road on Sunday. Man I need to get out more
