Takeover rumours - Consortium offer by next week?

Just like the Old Firm going to the Premiership, this story crops up at least once a season. I'll believe it when I see it. P.S. What's non-fact about Operation Tango -
I can't see what you're basing Ally having the makings of a top class manager on to be honest. Being assistant is very different to being the top man pulling the strings. Remember Alex Miller at the sheep? And Paul Hegarty? And Roy Aitken? And look at Steve Clarke, one of the best no. 2s in the game but never stepped up to manager. Completely different jobs, and as much as I idolise Super, he doesn't have anything like the experience required to become Rangers manager. This is just the latest phase in the custodian's downsizing of the club. Appointing Ally from the position pf strength we now find ourselves in is a ridiculous risk IMO.

Would like to know Novo's stats. Can't remember him missing one for us. Shearer must have had a great record too.

Sadly, a by-product of the Rangers winning the league is a summer of tims with typewriters/microphones bumping their gums about the "pyoor injustis" of it all. They can spout as much pish as they like - we'll just lie back, laugh, and wait for the arrival of the Champions 2008/09 DVD.

Nail on head. The guy is a complete no-mark.

Playing like we did on Sunday we would blow a hell of a lot of teams away, never mind Falkirk.

Ah the much fabled 'Celtic Way'....what does this mean, the Celtic Way? Career-threatening tackles, sly kicks when the ref's not looking, falling over anywhere within 25 yards of goal? Perhaps Peter 'MacGuire' should think back to how the most Celtic-minded of them all, The Blessed Martin, set his teams out. That's right, a back line of 15 stone thugs who clobbered everything in sight before hoofing long ball after long ball up to Sutton and Fat John who'd elbow everything in sight to reach it. What about Petrov and Larsson's antics, that'll have been 'the Celtic Way' as well eh? Muppets.

True, I've just taken a real shine to Edu though. Great attitude, good amount of brain cells and can stand up for himself on the park. Also seems to have really taken to the club and the support. He'll play in the Premiership at some stage without question.

Can see Walter getting next season and Ally the one after.

Very interesting reading that. It just shows you how important cash is. Look how much more we were spending than Celtic in 1999 and 2000 and think back to how good we were and how shit they were. Then you can see us cut back during the McLeish years and Celtic's spending rocket. That's a pretty huge jump in wage bill between 2007 and 2008 from us as well.

Surely the appointment of 'Celtic-minded' Roy Aitken will see a jump in season-ticket sales at the Piggery?

Sounds from that like Edu will probably make it but Mendes might struggle. Really hope Edu can make it, the boy has been magnificent since coming into the side and deserves his day out in the sun.

Totally agree S_A, I certainly won't be disappointed if he stays. £40k/wk would be a large slice of next season's non-CL budget I'd imagine. Go for it Liewell.

Come in Roy Aitken -
Booooooooooooo. See Puyol and co. were up to their usual tricks tonight. Rancid, Celtic-like club. The better team won. Pity they should never have been in the final.

Ha ha. That's almost badder than Zanders quote.

Think they've always been shit. Don't think they've ever been above the second-bottom division.
-
Just what those at the club say (read Pointless by Jeff Connor). Interestingly when he left the club to go to St Mirren, they were above St Mirren in the table.

How did a Kerrydale Street thread end up on here?
