  16. Club 1872 Launches First Project Dear member, Last month, Club 1872 members voted overwhelmingly to support the launch of our first project. Club 1872 has now funded 100 places at the Rangers Soccer Schools summer camps, with places going to kids who may not otherwise have been able to take part. Club 1872 director Laura Fawkes spoke to Rangers TV prior to the launch of the project - view here. All feedback since then has been incredibly positive. Club 1872 is delighted to have been able to provide these opportunities for kids, and the kids themselves are thoroughly enjoying the experience. Club 1872 will provide further updates on this project in the coming weeks, and will be putting our next project proposal to members in the near future. Thanks to all who voted for this proposal. We look forward to bringing you further opportunities to benefit RFC and the Rangers community. Club 1872
  17. Rangers hero Peter Lovenkrands has returned to the club as academy coach. The Dane built a reputation as a cult hero over six season at Ibrox, racking up nearly 200 games, scoring more than 50 times. Following a move to Schalke 04 and spells at Newcastle United and Birmingham City the 37-year-old returns to Ibrox to work with the club’s under-15 side. He expressed his delight on his Instagram page saying “Feels good wearing @rangersfc badge again! First day of coaching today”, while being offered congratulations from former Rangers striker Michael Mols. He has been joined on the academy coaching staff by former Rangers striker Andy Little who currently plays for Stirling Albion. Lovenkrands will be remembered most by the Ibrox faithful for his winning goal in the 2002 Scottish Cup final against Celtic as well as a number of big European strikes, playing either up front or from the left-wing. His brother Tommy had a spell with St Johnstone.

  19. Club 1872 Welcomes Surge in Support Dear member, Club 1872 is pleased to announce that following our share purchase two weeks ago, which made us the second largest shareholder in RIFC, we have seen a significant number of new members joining the organisation. We have added approximately 700 new donating members and seen many previous members reactivating their donations following time away from Club 1872. Euan MacFarlane from the Club 1872 Membership and Fan Engagement working group said: "It has been a really exciting few weeks for Club 1872 and its members. We've been delighted to see significant increases in new and rejoining members and it is vital we maintain and build on this momentum. Our Fan Engagement group are working with the board to communicate an events roadmap including meeting our supporters clubs, engaging with lapsed members as well as increasing our presence on match days. We look forward to sharing the long term vision for the organisation and the upcoming projects with prospective members. Hopefully the broader Rangers support who have been pleased with the recent share purchase and stability at board room level will give serious consideration to joining us." We will shortly communicate further with current members on how they can help these efforts and will be contacting lapsed members to encourage them to return to Club 1872 as we look to grow further. Sign-up events begin this week, and we would welcome contact from supporters clubs, community groups and anyone else who would be interested in participating in this kind of event. Club 1872

  21. MK Dons target Gers’ Rob Kiernan Rangers defender Rob Kiernan has been linked with Milton Keynes Dons. The English side are believed to made a move for the 26-year-old after he was reportedly told by Rangers he was surplus to requirements. MK Dons are however thought to be struggling to meet the £200,000 price tag set by Rangers to complete the deal. Kiernan has a contract to stay at Ibrox until June 2018 but did not impress last season. (HITC) ‘Europa League exit had no impact on my decision’ Rangers midfielder Graham Dorrans insisted his desire to come to Ibrox wasn’t dampened by the side’s shock exit from the Europa League. Rangers’ latest summer signing, Dorrans, 30, insisted putting the heat on Celtic was his main priority. He told the Record: “it had no affect on me coming here at all. I was just desperate to be part of the club I’ve supported all my life. “And competing for the title is the most important thing for Rangers anyway. It won’t be easy because Celtic are a strong team.” (HITC)
  22. That's true. How good was Alan Morton? I never saw him so cannot comment. I did see Laudrup and Baxter, the former was a great player the second was world class.
