  1. Cannot see the stadium being rebranded with Sports Direct included in the name. This deals is only for one year, unless of course there's a nod and wink for the future.
  2. From Dave King. Last 12 seconds or so of his press conference today. See q
  3. James Blair led the negotiations.
  4. King says there will be further announcement on Ashley's share holding, not sure Im going to like it!
  5. Seems that they have dropped their claim.
  6. Must the club and SD agree on prices? Would it be possible for price in megastore to be different than at SD store?
  7. There will be plenty others thinking that way, but it's only for one year. After a year we can get rid of SD, I presume?
  8. Statement on Retail Deal Dear member, Club 1872 welcomes the announcement by Rangers that the long running dispute with Sports Direct is at an end and that a favourable deal has been secured which will see Rangers’ retail operations once again benefit the club. This announcement – coupled with a number of new players and a Director of Football arriving at the club – shows the great strides being made by Dave King and the Rangers board. We commend them for that progress and for matching the commitment shown by supporters who have once again backed the club with record season ticket sales. Prior to the formation of Club 1872, several fan organisations were at the forefront of a supporter campaign to boycott retail operations due to the unfavourable deal entered into with Sports Direct by the Charles Green regime. That campaign was not entered into lightly and it has been extremely difficult for such a large number of our supporters not to feel able to wear the Rangers jersey during that time. We hope and anticipate that with the resolution of this matter we will see the Rangers jersey once again become a symbol of pride and support for our club. We appreciate that some supporters may still be reluctant to end their boycott of the retail operation due to the ongoing involvement of Sport Direct. We would like to inform those supporters that we have been reassured by the Rangers executive team and board that this deal does represent good value to Rangers. Club 1872 is entirely satisfied that supporters can once again meaningfully contribute to Rangers success through the purchase of replica kits and other items. As has previously been the case we would recommend that, where possible, supporters purchase items from the Rangers Megastore or direct from Rangers’ online platforms. As the official statement from Rangers and Sports Direct makes clear, purchases from these outlets are the most profitable to the club. As we look forward to the new season, Club 1872 would like to thank our members for their continued support and would ask that other Rangers supporters consider joining Club 1872 to assist with the process of taking our great football club back to the pinnacle of Scottish and European football. Club 1872

  10. Where is BH when we need him.
  11. Honours system is a nonsense, a Knighthood for reading the news!
  12. Jamie Walker: Hearts turn down second Rangers bid for attacker 13 minutes ago From the sectionFootball Share this page Jamie Walker Jamie Walker has been a regular in the Hearts team over the past five years Hearts have rejected a second bid from Rangers, believed to be in the region of £600,000, for winger Jamie Walker. Hearts value the Scotland Under-21 international at around £1m. The 23-year-old attacker is contracted at Tynecastle until next summer and has turned down the offer of an extension. Walker, who has made more than 180 appearances for Hearts and who scored 15 goals last season, can sign a pre-contract agreement with another club from 1 December. Rangers' initial bid was rejected on Wednesday. Hearts director of football Craig Levein said last month that Walker wanted to leave the club. The club subsequently stated "the player would prefer to see out the remaining year of his contract". Rangers finished third in the Scottish Premiership - two places and 21 points above Hearts - and have signed defenders Bruno Alves and Fabio Cardoso, midfielder Ryan Jack and forwards Daniel Candeias and Dalcio this summer. The club, who will enter the first qualifying round of the Europa League later this month, have also had a second offer for Norwich City midfielder Graham Dorrans turned down.
  13. I did not realise that Derry City played in the League of Ireland. Why is that?
  14. Just been told that Wilson Wood died on Tuesday. The older guys on here will remember him, played with us 1963-66.
  15. Hopefully these new guys will do the business. To be honest the only foreign signing I had heard of was Alves.
  16. Gordon is a dumpling.
  17. 2-1 I don't feckin believe it!,
  18. Now 1-1 You may be correct but with the players England have they should not be dragged down to our level. I'm not saying they have world class players btw, just a lot better than us.
  19. You look at the players England have and wonder how their such a poor team. How many of ours would get in the England squad?
  20. Goalie ffs.
