You hear what people say. You read what people type/write. I think some of us are forgetting that he's managing Aberdeen. There's only so much he can achieve there.

Maybe Aberdeen were average on Wednesday because of the way we played. Ruling a manager out because his team lost a game is a bit silly. No one is saying McInnes will turn is into a team of world beaters or that we'll go on an unbeaten run of 66 games but he did really well with St Johnstone and so far he's got pass marks at Aberdeen.

The incident of Pena tracking back to catch the Aberdeen player was enjoyable to see but that's the minimum we should be expecting from our players. You can tell he's not the quickest but perhaps his brain makes up that yard when he has the ball. His pass for Tav near the end of the 1st half was superb.

Explain it how you want but Tav was offside. It was nice to get the decision though. What I noticed about Scottish linesman years ago was that if there was a close call they'd always flag for offside. Tav was offside and the linesman got it wrong but it's hardly surprising considering just how poor out match officials are.

That's how I feel about Pena.

Had Celtic beat Killie and didn't draw last night they'd still be ahead of us. Fact is we never won those games so there's no point with the imagine if scenario. Excellent performance last night. Aberdeen had us on the back foot at the start of the 2nd half but that aside we absolutely dominated them. Pena's touch seemed to have improved and he took his goal well. The jury is still out though. Ryan Jack seemed to take great delight in bossing the midfield against his former club.
