I enjoy the trips to Inverness. The scenery is nice and they speak a different language. It's almost like a European game but with fish suppers. Hamilton is a dump.

Lets remember he's 'our' Pedro Caixinha - the manager of OUR Club
BrahimHemdani replied to Anchorman's topic in Rangers Chat
The fact that he tried and failed to outplay Celtic and Aberdeen (which could easily have neen 1-5 as well) at Ibrox could be taken as ambition but could also be taken as naïveté tactically. However it's clear from his pronouncements that he is only too painfully aware that the current squad are nowhere near good enough and I doubt that more than 2 or 3 of them will be in the team next season. There is an obvious concern about the quality of players he will bring in but I'd hazard a guess that not many of them will be currently on loan in the English League 1 or 2. -
The Official Car to Perth Match Thread So far the post split fixtures have seen Rangers win only one of three home games and the only away game at Firhill. We started with a disastrous 1-5 record equalling loss at home to Celtic, when the first 30 minutes saw the incredible statistic of Celtic 81% possession, Rangers 19%. By then we were already 2-0 down unable to cope with Celtic’s high tempo passing game and lethal finishing. Another two in the first 20 minutes of the second half, saw us face humiliation; with our blushes little saved by Player of the Season, Kenny Miller, netting in the last 10 minutes before Lustig brushed our feeble challenges aside to net Celtic’s fifth. Many Rangers fans left after the third unable to take the sight of Celtic playing us off our own park. Some gave Pedro credit for “having a go” at home; but most say he didn’t heed the warning of the Cup Semi Final or learn from Murty’s team’s gritty performance at Parkhead, or even Walter’s 2007/08, “anti-football” team that knew how to grind out results with five in midfield or at the back, when playing technically superior opposition. On to sunny Firhill, where the Maryhill Magyars also proceeded to play us of their park for the first 60 minutes, during which period Doolan scored an outstanding goal. However, double tactical changes, going three, then two at the back and the introduction of out of favour Mackay, who quickly proved his worth and a terrific run by Miller in which he beat three men inside the box and produced an inch perfect cross on the turn, saw Garner head the winner. It was difficult to explain just how ordinary a team we looked that day; and even more difficult to take. Rangers regained some composure at home to Hearts last Saturday, aided by the same Miller to Garner combination as had produced the winner at Firhill. This time Miller provided another inch perfect cross on the run from wide right and Garner’s flying header went in agonisingly slowly off the post. Mistakes from Toral and Holt saw 10-man Hearts get back into the game for all of two minutes before Mackay took advantage of a double goalkeeping error to tap home the winner. The much maligned Cathro showed his tactical awareness in setting up his 10 men and it often seemed that Rangers were the team playing short-handed in the second half. The only composed team at Ibrox on Wednesday night were Aberdeen who secured their first win in Govan for 26 years, much more easily that the 2-1 scoreline suggests. Had it not been for a string of fine saves from Foderingham, this could easily have been another 5-1 drubbing. Rangers lined up with youngsters Bates and Aidan Wilson at CB and they were soon joined by another under-20, Beerman at LB. What Aberdeen lack in terms of flair compared with Celtic they more than make up with their well-drilled transition from attack to defence. Shinnie took advantage of a double error by Windass and Toral to score the first as Aberdeen‘s solid if unspectacular formation controlled the first half. Early in the second period, I remarked to my neighbour that it was like watching a European home game against far superior opposition and suggested they would soon score a second; which they duly did and to make matters worse it was on loan Celtic midfielder Christie who nodded it home. Waghorn’s first goal for two months was small consolation in losing our last home game of the season. Another thing that struck me about Aberdeen was that with the exception of number 15, O’Connor, they had numbers 1 to 11 on the park; continuity goes a long way in football. If there has been one small crumb of comfort in this dismal spell, it has been the introduction of youngsters: Beerman, Bates, A Wilson and Barjonas. Beerman had a baptism of fire against Roberts but will have learned a lot from these games. Bates is a decent defender but his passing out of defence is shocking. I’m not convinced about him. I liked what I saw of Aidan Wilson on Wednesday, against experienced forwards he got right into the tackles from the beginning and acquitted himself well. Another point worth noting is that PC has been quick to drop those who he doesn’t trust to perform or carry out his instructions. Hence Halliday and more recently Holt have been benched and others such as O’Halloran and Forrester are nowhere to be seen unless you are at the 6.00am training session. Pedro has hinted that more youngsters will start tomorrow (well today now). I don’t know enough about our under-20’s to predict who that might be; but I suspect that Barjonas will start this one along with Bates, Wilson and Beerman at the back and perhaps we may see Serge Atakayi at some point. I expect something along the lines of this attacking line up to make the short trip to Perth in search of the victory that will send our troops of to the sun and sand for the extremely short close season. Foderingham Tavernier, Bates, Wilson and Beerman; Miller, Barjonas, Windass; Waghorn, Garner, Mackay. I expect Waghorn to start as much because he’s in the shop window as anything else and Windass may retain his place at the expense of Dodoo who has pace and skill but is far too easily brushed off the ball. Windass will only get a game if there is absolutely no one else but despite what I said about Waghorn, Atakayi could easily get a start in place of him or Mackay. I travel in hope. Anyone in East Dunbartonshire or environs interested in a lift to Perth tomorrow post here or PM me if you don't want it known.

If Wallace wouldn't move when we were on our uppers he sure as he'll isn't going to move now. PC rates Wilson so he won't be sold. Waghorn is proven at Championship level but no way will we get a million for him other than in your dreams.
-
As has been pointed out he has played every game but equally Cagliari have the worst defensive record in serie a outside the bottom two. Perhaps they are happy to let him go for a comparatively small fee but perhaps he would also like a shot at Europe with PC.
-
We won't sell Wilson or Wallace and I am sorry to say you are seriously deluded about the value of the others.

I would suggest that there is a difference inasmuch as I was complaining about innuendo from a small number of people etc about my past utterances and opinions; in the case of Mr King we are talking about the opinion of learned judges not the opinion of Gersnet posters however learned they may be. My opinions or evidence have never been criticised by judges; on the contrary when I was in court some years ago as a witness when my car was totalled by a careless driver, the Sheriff described my evidence as "credible and reliable". Also the opinion of Richard Millett QC, sitting as a Deputy Judge of the High Court, that King's evidence in the RRL case was "cynical and disingenuous" is very recent and adds to the pattern that has already been observed. Lastly, I am not the Chairman of Rangers FC and I did not say: “My view of what it will take to make Rangers competitive again is bottom end £30m but probably £50m — over the next four years. From the discussions I have to date I think there are other people who would come with me. But I would say I would probably have to put in £30m of the £50m over the period of time. And I could probably get other people to put in £20m. Would I be willing to invest £30m despite what happened previously? Of course. Sure.”. http://club1872.co.uk/news/stewart-robertson-meeting-summary/ So I would submit that it is perfectly fair and reasonable to hold our Chairman to account based on the standards applied when he has been in court.

Fair point, Alves is a hot head; but hopefully PC will be better at man management than MW.
-
I am most certainly in favour of there being a fans' representative on the Board and of course I agree that as a very significant shareholder organisation it would be entirely logical for C1872 to have a Director on the Board, as indeed they do now. However, I'd suggest that the blatantly obvious conflicts of interest in the case of Mr Blair, demonstrate how difficult it is to manage such a situation. If the Club Directors have any sense they will invite C1872 to appoint someone to the Club Board after the new elections. The point I would make about direct election from a membership scheme is that such a person would have greater credibility and legitimacy than a representative of an organisation that is at best factional and at worst divisive. I'm not saying that it would be any easier for such a person to take on the role and remain independent.

Nothing that Mr King says is ever straightforward.
-
Not only would that be great news of itself, but it would also encourage similar quality players to come. With Alves at CB and Kranjcar (hopefully) in CMF, that would be a good start. I'm wondering if he has anew goalkeeper in mind, which is why he's not bothered to look at Alnwick in a match. That said, Fods has been outstanding, saved us from a thrashing vs Aberdeen.
-
According to MW, Kiernan is a Premier League player, so he must be worth at least £10 million, surely.
-
I think, "disingenuous" is the word you are searching for, Steve.
-
I realised when I posted that, that it was a pretty disingenuous statement, the same way as he portrays share purchases as investment in the club. I'm quite sure that he fully intended most folk to read it as the budget for buying players; but I'm equally sure that if he's challenged on it, he'll give the answer you have provided.

Dens Park was owned by Dundee Utd Director John Bennet for some years. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/32240533 Not sure if that is still the case now the Americans are in charge and planning on the new stadium at Camperdown. At the very least they should ground share.

The only player we have worth any kind of money is Barry Mackay and it's clear to me that he is going to see out his contract then leave for nothing unless we make him a new offer or sell him in one of the next two windows. What's he worth, would you say, £1/2 million tops and not all up front. The others, don't make me weep. Kiernan, Waghorn, Halliday, Holt, Windass, Crooks, Tavs; doubt you'd get a million for the lot.
-
Now we know you are on something stronger than beer and tobacco. £11 million from where exactly? That will be the same "mendacious.....glib and shameless liar", King? The same whose evidence in the RRL case was described by the judge as "cynical and disingenuous". That Mr King? Surely no one now believes he's ever going to put £30 million into Rangers Football Club.

An amalgamation is long overdue.

Bluebear54's GPL 2016/17: Rangers v Aberdeen
BrahimHemdani replied to BEARGER's topic in Rangers Chat
You're right of course it makes no sense but it adds a bit of interest to the cup ties and IMO we should keep it. As Rousseau says we dropped the diddy cup this year and it only applies to a handful of games in the SC. -

I'll be keeping my tag thanks, it has the date on it, just like winning or being runner up in a real cup once you've done it you can't lose it. -
Hang on a minute here; if the ST money is all going to be invested in the squad, where are we going to get money to run the club and pay wages week by week? When are we going to see the next tranche of the £30 million?

Where are you getting all this stuff?
