  1. That's a certain Mr Forlan paid for two £36.00 Counter Credit Gersnet Dinner BGC Now up to 11, how about someone making it a round dozen.
  2. I think you argue your position well and you have clearly thought it through. I don't think there is anything at all shady about the procedure that has been adopted. I was being a little bit facetious about the brick, of course; it is my intention to leave the Club that has given me so much pleasure over the years more than enough to put my name on several bricks and perhaps something like an endowment for a youth player's kit. I would be tempted to buy my season ticket in perpetuity if there was such a scheme. Now there's an idea. I am sorry but you are wrong about vehicle excise duty. The standard charge is for one year; you pay proportionately more if you chose to pay for 6 months. The one year figure may appear to be a discount but it is not. That said, I agree that the ST should cost less than paying for the equivalent number of matches on a once off basis; but there are other benefits that I have listed not least getting the same seat that you want for every match. I have absolutely no problem with you letting Rangers or your internet provider know about any issues you have; I do exactly the same. It might interest you to know that when Rangers tried to insist that Travel Club members have insurance (quite right) and use Rangers own provider (out of order) I complained to Trading Standards who instructed them to drop the insistence on their own provider and introduce a tick box if you already had insurance. When that was not introduced the next year, I complained again and Trading Standards appeared at the Ticket Office one day unannounced. Rangers were forced to invite those who had their own cover to notify and drop their own (Rangers) charge. This story is legend in the Ticket Office.
  3. I'll take that as a compliment, thanks. If someone had asked me if I was on auto renew I would have said, YES; and when I saw the indication on the email, I assumed that was the case. I will check the paperwork when I have time; but I am confident that they would not have auto renewed me if I hadn't so indicated and my recollection is that it goes back several years. Why is 19 days to cancel ridiculous when you can send an email?
  4. I don't recall anyone saying they wouldn't be; the Chairman apparently said the review would be out before the deadline, which is still possible.
  5. I'm sorry but you're loosing me here. To what public statement are you making reference? I have no idea to whom you are referring in respect of Hearts but unsubstantiated comments like that are likely to find more lawyers letters in Frankie's mailbox.
  6. Auto renewal works for the club because it cuts down on administration and hence costs and it works for me if not for you because it saves me filling in new paperwork each year. As far as I am concerned it is a win/win situation. Perhaps 21 days might have been better but 28 days would be too long in my opinion; long deadlines can easily be forgotten. There is more than ample time to cancel if I or anyone else doesn't like the new terms. I am confident that if you missed the deadline for good reason your case would get a sympathetic hearing. If I die and Rangers get an extra payment, I don't have a problem with that; perhaps they'll put my name on a brick. I think you are just looking for excuses not to renew. If you are so enamoured of your internet provider perhaps you should stay home playing games.
  7. That's going a bit far! To be fair to him, he has been a stabilising force at the back this season and I don't remember many mistakes aside from v Arbroath at home. And we have only conceded 16 goals in 31 league matches, which is a very decent record. But any thoughts of playing in Europe again are delusional.
  8. How do you know there won't be a rights issue and that Mr King won't get a share of it if he wants it? As to Hearts, they had a brilliant lawyer; happens to be the same chap who got Messrs Naismith and Whittaker out of Ibrox free.
  9. Can I claim I forgot due to old age. I think it comes into the category "knew or ought to have known". Please do not start me on PPI or we'll be here all night.
  10. There seems to be a contradiction here. Perhaps it means that those who are already on the pay the club direct scheme will stay that way but new ones will have to go on the Zebra scheme. TBH I didn't see how they could auto renew someone on to a different scheme from that which applied last year. So I don't have any issue with how they are administering this, except that the instalments commence a month earlier than usual but that's hardly a surprise in the circumstances.
  11. That doesn't seem to be correct; according to Chilledbear's post it's still the same £10.
  12. Quite so it is an auto renew; but I was paying by 4 instalments which they charged directly to my CC, so are they about to tell me it's all getting charged at once?
  13. ENGAGING with our supporters is one of Rangers main priorities and the ‘Ready to Listen’ engagement programme has highlighted fans desire for a club membership. Rangers is currently researching The Rangers Club Membership - to be launched summer 2014 - before inviting supporters to discuss and feedback their opinions and comments. All 2014/15 season holders will receive free founder membership (excluding joining pack) and have the option to purchase the membership pack for a discounted price. PLUS – juvenile season holders will receive free kids membership and will also have the option to purchase the discounted pack. Benefits may include discounts, offers, exclusive content, member events and will be confirmed following ongoing discussion as part of the next phase of the Ready to Listen initiative. Poor show not having it all worked out in advance.
  14. Seems mine's been renewed automatically You are keeping it warm for the generations to come. Because Rangers Football Club is bigger than any individual. We are a team with over 50 thousand players. One footballing family dressed in light blue. Turning up to play our part every Saturday afternoon and floodlit night. Season after season (and sometimes four seasons in one game). Warming up in the training ground, the park; with teammates, with friends. Celebrating every goal, every victory, every piece of silverware. Never giving up, even when the odds are stacked against us. This is a place where legends never die, they grow. Where even the players are lifelong fans. But we are all just custodians playing our 90 minutes and then passing it forward. Together we can make sure there’s always a Rangers. BH, thank you for renewing your 2014/15 season ticket.
  15. So presumably the SFA are paying Rangers to use the car park or more likely it is included in the stadium rental?
  16. Dear Mr Dragonfly Trumpeter, I will not dignify what you say in #41 by copying it here nor do I see any need to repeat Darther's clear answer at #42. Whatever has happened in the past, starving the Club of the vital ST monies will not hasten resignations from the current Board; it will just hasten more high priced loans and quite possibly another insolvency event for the Club. It is unfortunate that you do not understand the precarious position of the Club and do not believe the Chairman's statement but these are the unpalatable facts. It should also be noted that the share price has fallen more than 10% since the announcement, albeit in light trading; but knocking about £2 million off the value of the Club. If anything is calculated to delay the departure of the investors that you do not like, then a fall in the share price is at the top of the list. Surprisingly perhaps, we do have one point of agreement, namely that it costs about 10% more per game for a ST than it would on a per game basis. This is unusual for any kind of ST and it is something I have railed against whenever I have had an opportunity in the past. However it should be noted that when you buy a ST: You are guaranteeing yourself the same seat for every match This seat most likely is in your preferred area and beside the friends you have built up over the years It allows you to apply for away league games It allows you to apply for home and away cup ties It allows you to apply for cup semis and finals It allows you to apply for home friendlies It allows you to get your own seat for European games; or in my case a better seat when it is required by UEFA all of the above on a preferential basis and to pay for all the additional matches through the CC Scheme. I still don't think it should cost more than paying per game but no one is forcing you to buy a ST. Before I had one about 15 years ago, I was difficult if not impossible to buy a match day ticket from Rangers and when I did so I had little or no choice of where I sat. So I took to just going to Ibrox and trying to buy one in the street. Most times I got one and often had a choice of seats. One time I didn't, it was against Motherwell and I heard the crowd roar as Rangers scored when I was walking away. Most of the current Board are not responsible for the financial mismanagement other than not making the cuts to expenditure that are obviously required in line with our current income. That said it is difficult to see where these cuts might fall, given players and other staff will all be on contracts and cutting admin staff to save a few thousand is not cost effective. The major task is to increase revenue and we will see what comes out of the 120-day plan in that respect.
  17. Two different things entirely. There isn't any argument that the Club's finances have been mismanaged. Equally fans paid for season tickets and got to watch 36 games of football. Delaying or not buying a season ticket for next year will jeopardise the going concern basis and hence the company's ability to trade and put a team on the park. If that's what you want to happen then you know what to do. If I've lost the plot then it seems there are others like me around here.
  18. Perhaps not entirely but that's what's stated in the accounts. In implementing a professional basis for managing the Club, it remains a significant concern that external comment and ill-informed opinion continues to create uncertainty with regard to future income and cash flows. In particular, recent public comments suggesting season ticket holders divert payment away from the Club has caused a level of uncertainty over the timing and quantum of season ticket cash flowing into the Club, which as with many other football clubs, is Rangers' primary source of income. If this were to happen then there would be a negative impact on short-term cash balances and it is possible that the Club may need to seek alternative additional short term financing. This clearly would not be in the best interests of Rangers and would likely have a significant impact on our ability to progress the development of the Club in the planned manner. This possibility results in the existence of a material uncertainty which may cast doubt about Rangers' ability to continue as a going concern and therefore that the Company may be unable to realise its assets and discharge its liabilities in the normal course of business.
  19. The reason we nearly didn't achieve going concern status under the interim accounts was the threat of a boycott; the directors had to go out on a limb with their forecast to head that off in the short term. So I think we agree, well nearly.
  20. That's not the complete picture, of course; but yes we do and so does any club to a greater or lesser degree.
