  1. Now you're talking. Instead of all this put your ST money in a trust nonsense, and make no mistake it IS nonsense and will achieve absolutely nothing at all except put the future of the Club in jeopordy; how much better would it be for King and the UoF et al, to hold up banners saying SAFEGUARD THE CLUB, BUY YOUR SEASON TICKETS AS SOON AS THEY BECOME AVAILABLE "It would be foolhardy for fans to once again commit their money without any kind of transparency or security." says Chris Graham. On the contrary, it would be foolhardy to withhold that money. He doesn't "see that they are putting the Club in jeopardy"; on the contrary that's exactly what they are doing. "If this were to happen then there would be a negative impact on short-term cash balances and it is possible that the club may need to seek alternative additional short term financing. "This clearly would not be in the best interests of Rangers and would likely have a significant impact on our ability to progress the development of the club in the planned manner." (David Somers) This is not the blackmail that has been portrayed it is the stated opinion of the Chairman of Rangers International Football Club; who is , I would suggest, far better placed to know than Messrs Dinnie, Graham or Houston. This condition relating to the timing of receipt of season ticket monies, along with the details provided in note 2 to the condensed set of financial statements, indicate the existence of a material uncertainty which may cast significant doubt about the Company's ability to continue as a going concern and therefore that the Company may be unable to realise its assets and discharge its liabilities in the normal course of business. 2. I believe that if the marketing is done right for next season there will be a significant increase in ST sales. See us battle back to the SPL against the likes of Hearts, possibly Dundee, Dunfermline etc, which will be the most competitive league in Scotland. A new manager would be a big boost to sales as well; don't know anyone who thinks McCoist is up to the job and he certainly wouldn't get another one anywhere else. I do not understand how a businessman like King cannot see the "serious financial consequences" created by the "material uncertainty" about the payment of ST monies; but at the end of the day I doubt if 10% of those who have signed up to the trust scheme idea will actually commit their money. Quite simply the Board will say pay up and get you seat; don't pay up and lose your seat. There is not a snowballs chance in hell of them signing over our major assets for a few million of ST money. In any event, I don't think it will come to that. I am convinced that when THE PLAN comes out; DK will drop the ST scheme; otherwise he won't get what he really wants.
  3. A dazzling player that's for sure; actually he reminds me of Bobby Shearer, only 10 times as fast but without the growl or the biting tackle.
  4. Is it a contest between him and Wallace? Foster looks like Castro to me; but not sure if he plays football either.
  5. Absent, Black (almost certainly), Law (probably) Daly (if he's got a hamstring pull) this is my team: :rf::sf: :cg::ap::kh: :jig: If Daly is fit McCulloch will be in his usual place and Faure on the bench. If Law plays, Peralta will be on the bench; Hutton has done enough to retain his place unless Black is fit; and even then might get a game in 4-1-4-1 at the expense of Clark.
  6. SOLD to the man with the bald head.
  7. I think that's a tad harsh TB, they did a video of Man City and have learned a lot about Rangers over several months; glad it has not put you off coming. You can wear an Ally mask if you like; or we can just tell them not to film you or edit you out if that is your preference.
  8. Thanks again to Frankie and a number of the guys on here the VILLA FOR SALE 35 minutes from Alicante airport has now been retweeted to 14,000 people, amazing! Mucho gracias ustedes!
  9. Let's get this one over first, we can take a consensus at the dinner. On the filming side, no objections so far, just Juancorneto & TB to opine.
  10. I was thinking of planning well in advance for the last home game of next season; but a pre-season one is indeed a fair shout. However, with holidays it might be more problematic than this one. That said we could think about sunny Spain
  11. Sorry, you can't be there. I'll see if the film crew can do a video link.
  12. That's terrible if true; but it's been obvious for some time that it's been more serious than a straightforward virus, possibly a cover story then to keep it out of the headlines.
  13. National intelligence was one of the main driving forces behind the establishment of the FoCUS Unit. It seems to be working.
  14. Be an other 2/3 hours, just passing 1,000 words; but I'm not awarding myself dinner till it's done.
  15. My late mother used to say that if I (me) get any better looking I'll have to start taking ugly pills; but that was some years ago.
  16. He/they didn't actually, Rangers FC did it! This just in from Visit Scotland in response to my complaint: Dear Alan Thank you for your feedback dated 28 March 2014, regarding The Rangers Football Club Ltd business listing on http://www.visitscotland.com. I am very sorry to hear of your disappointment. The web listing you refer to was requested by The Rangers Football Club Ltd, but created by VisitScotland. The normal process for adding a business listing on our website involves the business selecting the most appropriate category and, in this instance, The Rangers Football Club Ltd selected to be listed as a museum, with a 4-Star Tour logo as they operate Stadium Tours. Due to this selection, the business listing would not allow an additional ‘football stadium’ subcategory. This anomaly meant that the Ibrox listing didn’t appear in the ‘Stadia’ search. VisitScotland has recognised this inconsistency and created an additional business listing for Ibrox Stadium. This second listing has been set up as an ‘Activity’ listing which does allow the correct subcategory. I hope this response has been helpful to you and thank you again for your feedback.
  17. I don't tend to agree with the conspiracy theorists but it's hard to see how this could be a genuine error, if you know enough about Scottish Football to know that New Douglas Park is a football stadium, you surely must know that Ibrox is the same. It may have been because we have a 4 star Scottish Tourist Board Tour rating showing on the site. I suppose, it's also just about possible that it's been some kind of coding error but it has hard to dismiss the possibility that it was deliberate. At least there is a picture of Broxy in the tunnel on ours; Celtic Park, Hampden and Firhill just get awful washed out thistle water marks.
  18. I can give you an absolute assurance that nobody is going to be filming your body, double, treble or any which way. But if you know any one whose body might be worth filming, my couch is right over there...... Meantime, as with SC, I'll take that as a YES to filming, thanks!
  19. And I haven't forgotten about the Arbroath game, though the Main Page suggests we're going back to Brechin again (under the Arbroath badge). I'm making a big pot of coffee and giving myself 4 hours to get it done.
  20. That's not going to happen so it's irrelevant. What is it the assets would be secured against? If the ST money is now to be paid when it falls due, rather than drip fed as previously suggested, there is nothing to secure against and no reason for the club to do so anyway. Even if ST money was a loan which it isn't; it isn't a big enough amount of money to grant security of £50 odd million worth of assets and it would be imprudent of the directors to do so. Whilst they say that they have no present intention of granting security against these assets that does not rule out such a possibility in the future. If you and 3,000 or 30,000 others bought season tickets for one of Mr Easdale's bus lines would you expect him to grant you security over his bus garage becuase you may or may not like the way he runs his buses? Hildy is spot on; the fans owning the Club and the ground with it is one thing and I am all in favour of that; but the present proposal is foolhardy because it has created "material uncertainty" about the Club's ability to trade as a going concern.
  21. It's not similar at all; and that's precisely the point. A loan is a debt that has to be repaid at some point in time, whether it's an overdraft that the bank can call in at any time, a 6-month loan from shareholders or a fixed longer term loan; the lender takes security against the possiblity that the loan will not be repaid. Season Ticket money is a payment you make to allow you to watch games at Ibrox; it is not repayable by the club, even if you don't attend any games. Therefore it is not regarded as "prepaid" in accounting terms, it is simply "Income"; so there is absolutely no reason why the directors would grant any form of security in return for ST money. If you want to buy a ST you get to see all the games; if you don't you don't unless you buy tickets on a game by game basis. That said I still think there will be a compromise.
  22. There is no confirmation there of any increase in the playing budget, nor could there be in the present financial circumstances. That sentence allows for the necessary reduction in the budget. The only issue is how is it going to be achieved given so few players out of contract and Ally's insatiable desire for new blood. I would tell him to find anything else he needs at Murray Park.
  23. Just wrote to my MSP, Fiona McLoed, who happens to sit on the Sport Committee, before I saw BD's post. I am sure that you will be as surprised as I was today to find that Ibrox Stadium is not listed as a Football Stadium on the Visit Scotland web site, either under Glasgow itself or Greater Glasgow and The Clyde Valley, which does include: Cappielow Park in Greenock, New Douglas Park in Hamilton, Fir Park in Motherwell and St Mirren Park in Paisley. Ibrox is listed as a Museum, which is strange because it doesn't have one; whereas Hampden, which does have one, is listed as a Football Stadium and the Scottish Football Museum has a separate entry. Needless to say, the conspiracy theorists, of which I am not one, are already at work on possible "reasons why"; so I am confident that you will want to follow up on my message below to ensure that the necessary correction is made as as soon as possible. Won't do any harm, even if the correction is in hand.
