  1. Kenny Miller is our top scorer in the league with 9 and second top overall with 12. He also has 5 assists in the league, which is equalled only by Lee Wallace. In my book that makes him our most valuable forward this season. What's not too like about that? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/rangers/top-scorers
  2. Thanks, I checked just now and not surprisingly it's not there yet; but I am checking that account daily now, so I'll post when it's in.
  3. I forgot that but still tend to think it's best done at Ibrox.
  4. Lee wallace is not 30 till August and at this stage is till a far better player than young Beerman. LW is a sound defender, scores goals and gets to the bye line for cutbacks. Beerman has shown good promise but that's all at this point. I'd give him a new deal on the basis that a bird in the hand is (cheaper and) worth two in the bush; but I wouldn't get over-excited about his prospects just yet.
  5. Oh my goodness, it didn't sound good yesterday, but this is terrible news. Black armbands on Sunday for sure; but perhaps best to wait till the next home game for a minute's silence? He will never be forgotten for THAT goal.
  6. Miller is the player of the season by a mile; with Clint Hill second IMHO.
  7. Miller scores the winner in the 2010 CIS Cup Final vs St Mirren Danny Wilson was one of those sent off from this team: Rangers 25 Alexander 03 Weir 05 Papac 16 Whittaker yellow card 66 Wilson red card 06 McCulloch yellow card 07 Davis (Edu 45) 08 Thomson red card 09 Boyd (Naismith 79) 10 Novo (Smith 89) 18 Miller
  8. I'm counting you IN, Gribz If you can't make it just send me the air fare and we'll have a very good night on you.
  9. Admin please make this a sticky, thanks.
  10. All the best to him.
  11. Yes thanks, still trying to get the IBAN number for you (and Gribz?). I also have a message from Colin Stein (ours not the real one) who is in Spain with no access to internet and is coming in a party of 3. I think we're in the range 16-20 at the moment but it's often slow to pick up and some folk need to wait till the end of the month to pay.
  12. At this time 6 tickets have been sold, to: me, GS, plgsarmy, rbr, BD and Boabie. Approximately 5 others and one or two possible guests have expressed interest in the original thread. Unfortunately previous attendees, Charltonman (and the lovely Samantha), Mountain Bear, TB and SteveC have indicated that they cannot attend on this occasion. I will be in touch with all the others who have attended in the past but I would stress that we do need 20 confirmed by next weekend to make this a viable proposition.
  13. The Fifth (formerly Semi-Annual) Official Gersnet Dinner will be held at La Fiorentina Ristorante, 2 Paisley Rd W, Glasgow G51 1LE, following our last home league match versus Hearts on Saturday 13 May 2017. In line with the 12.15pm KO we will congregate at the restaurant from around 2.30pm for 3.00pm. Our special guest will be Ally Scott. Ally was a striker who signed for Rangers from Queens Park in 1973 and went on to score 20 goals in 54 appearances (including at least one vs Celtic) before leaving for Hibs, Morton, Thistle, QoS and East Stirling. Ally was a striker who signed for Rangers from Queens Park in 1973 and went on to score 20 goals in 54 appearances (including at least two vs Celtic) before leaving for Hibs, Morton, Thistle, QoS and East Stirling. Ally played cricket at school and holds a 1st class honours degree in Natural Philosophy i.e. Physics. Since retiring as a player in 1982 he has had a long career in financial services and works as a part time journalist at Ibrox on match days. The price is £17.50 per head for a 3-course Italian Menu. Lump sum payment is preferred but if that causes anyone any difficulty I will be happy to accept a £10 deposit. Full payment or deposit must be paid by Saturday 29 April 2017 with the balance payable by Saturday 6th of May 2017. The restaurant is under new management since January this year and almost all the reviews on TripAdvisor are ***** Now it has changed hands its back to its best! The food is superb and the staff are really attentive - nothing is too much trouble. It has a lovely, friendly and welcoming atmosphere again and is fabulous value for money. My steak was the best I've ever had..... The food was gorgeous, the restaurant very cossie (sic) and the staff very polite! By far the best Italian I've ever been to! Beautiful food in a very friendly atmosphere. The staff were very helpful handling our large group plus late comers easily providing great food promptly and the restaurant itself was a pleasure to have a meal in. Had an incredible time here at the weekend celebrating with friends. Such a great atmosphere in La Fiorentina, like a little part of Italy in Scotland. The staff were incredible, very welcoming and on the ball. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g186534-d1087984-Reviews-or40-La_Fiorentina-Glasgow_Scotland.html#REVIEWS We have a private room at the back of the restaurant but this does mean that we require a minimum of 20 covers to go ahead. The maximum seating will be 36; first come first served. For those who have attended in the past, the bank details remain the same. Newbies please PM me for details. Please post to this thread when you have paid and I will confirm. Refund Policy Full refunds will be available up to Saturday 6 May 2017. Thereafter, there will be no refunds, except in exceptional circumstances. My decision on that will be final, subject to appeal to site admin. There will be no refunds at all after final numbers are given to the restaurant, date to be advised. No exceptions.
  14. Both Boabie & rbr are now confirmed paid for tickets #5 & #6.
  15. I don't recall any such in my time, she could "assist" me any day.
  16. MESSAGE TO ALL NEWBIES Please consider coming along to the Gersnet Dinner after the Hearts game on Saturday 13 May, where you can meet and greet fellow Gersnetters. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?81786-The-Fifth-(formerly-Semi-Annual)-Official-Gersnet-Dinner Ally Scott (Rangers 1973-76) is our Special Guest.
  17. Sorry but that's not an acceptable excuse. You can bring your son and his friends and then go on from there. :drink:
  18. That's perfectly fine, all they should need is the sort code and account number but remember to ask them to put "Boabie" as a reference then PM me your real name please so I can match it up to the payment.
  19. THANKS. Think about coming along to the dinner and sharing some of these stories.
  20. For the avoidance of doubt I have no idea who the blogger in question is nor am I interested, I have never read any of his stuff and precious few other blogs at all; and only read the piece because BD was kind enough to draw my attention to it as it referenced my RST AGM Statement from 2010. It is simply the case that I was approached last night as I indicated and was happy once I'd verified the reason for the intervention, to pass on the message. It seems a fair retraction and apology to me. I did also take it on myself to pass on the suggestion that the offending tweet(s) be removed (though that may already have been done) and I am told that at least one (offending tweet) has been removed. That said, I am not sure that I am 100% in agreement with everything you say because it has quite often been the case in the past and indeed the very recent past that comment on here has been accompanied by foul or abusive remarks that personally I find objectionable e.g "sticking them up your f&king arse"; but apparently are considered acceptable.
  21. It will only be my opinion of course and my opinion is not always very welcome by some as you may have noticed; but I'll try to put something together. I may try to answer you and Craig at the same time; but I don't think it will be tonight now. Please consider coming to the dinner, where you'll meet some of the lads and share opinions!
  22. #2 #3 #4 Sold. GS, plgsarmy and BD are all confirmed paid with thanks.
  23. I would appreciate if all those who wish to attend could please pay in full (£17.50 each) or a deposit of £10.00 by Saturday 29 April 2017 and the balance by Saturday 6 May 2017. A reminder for those who have attended before that the bank details are unchanged. Please quote your Gersnet name as a reference. Please post to the thread when you have sent payment and I will confirm. I've PM'd some newbies with the bank details others please PM me or post here and I'll supply the details. Based on posts on here and PM's I would say that around half the 36 tickets are already accounted for so the only way to secure your place is to make a payment as above. We had a large number of late call offs at the 3rd Dinner in May 2015, some but not all of which were unavoidable, so for the avoidance of doubt, there will be no refunds after Saturday 6 May 2017, unless in exceptional circumstances. My decision on that will be final, sujbect to appeal to the site admin. There will be no refunds at all after final numbers are given to the restaurant, date to be advised.
