  1. I agree, which is why I think there is a possibility of MCollCo settling for Blin IN Stockbridge OUT.
  2. I can't argue with that viewpoint except to say that it's unfortunate to say the least that of the the three other clubs only St Johnstone managed a couple of excellent wins and a draw, and that we are currently ranked alongside Luxembourg. Fortunately from the monetary persapective perhaps, Celtic still seem to be imbued with the biscuit tin mentality otherwise they would certainly have speculated more to achieve the great riches to which you rightly refer. I've written a great deal about the coefficients in the past so I'll leave that debate for another time if I may!
  3. Total attendance 8011, average 1335!
  4. I said "may", he will be well placed to count his supporters; I don't know if any of us here has that kind of information. But if the consensus here is that he will fight to the finish, I am not going to disagree; nor would I have a problem with an EGM.
  5. That win just put Kazekstan 3rd in the coefficients this year; we're 29th.
  6. I don't think anyone on here disagrees with that. No doubt MCollCo will way it all up very carefully before deciding their next move and whether sacrifices are in order.
  7. A very fair question that only he can answer. But I would liken it to a chess match. Both sides are prepared to sacrifice pawns e.g. PM on the McCollCo and BS/CM (perhaps off the Board but not the CEO position) on the incumbents side, in order to gain an advantage but both may have to agree to settle for a draw, at least this time around.
  8. I don't know that it would be portrayed as "casting aside". If they get 2 of their 3 targets, they might settle for 1 on 2 off rather than the turkey shoot of an EGM in pursuit of 2 on 3 off. Then it's just Paul, would you like to stand aside for the good of the Club etc etc.
  9. I agree with that; what I really meant was split them off P Murray, who is small fry compared to Blin. MColl doesn't want a seat on the Board, so my guess is they will jettison Murray and accept the offer to put Blin on in exchange for Stockbridge and perhaps Mather, thereby avoiding the open warfare of an EGM.
  10. You could put it that way; but I think it's a fairly obvious attempt to divide the McCollCo and I think it might well succeed.
  11. Eeez not so good now I no praktis long times
  12. The ticket is for the South Stand, Block BB, Row J Seat 0002, £17.00; only drawback is you would be sitting beside me!
  13. I have one spare ticket for Airdrie on Friday night, don't have the details here in my office but I'll post later when I get home. I think it's £17 or £18. Anyone interested please PM me; first come first served. Could meet in town any day this week or on Friday at the ground.
  14. Someone will need to be elected to Chair tonight's meeting of course; but that will only temporary. They might have been well advised to bring in someone neutral, perhaps a lawyer as they used to do sometimes at the AGM, just to chair tonight's meeting which could be extremely contentious. Who knows, they may have done that.
  15. Agreed. You'll recall that in 2010 MColl insisted on complete anonymity and said that if his name got out, the deal (to underwrite the fans' buyout) was off; unfortunately he was naïve enough to trust the Bank and Murray, and the rest is history. He may have learned a lesson from that.
  16. If McCollCo get in then I would think that Frank Blin is the obvious candidate; man with an impeccable international reputation. I have managed to connect with him and also got a personal introduction from a person on the same level (as him, not me!) but he is keeping absolutely stum right now and I don't blame him.
  17. Isn't this the same kind of paranoia that we accuse Celtic fans of?
  18. Disagree, there is only one issue; "Is he guilty"; if so he's out of out of football, probably for life.
  19. That makes sense especially in the light of all that's happening with FIFA/UEFA about match fixing etc. e.g. http://www.uefa.com/uefa/disciplinary/news/newsid=1974566.html I know we are not talking about match fixing here per se but betting on your own team to lose especially if you are playing in the match gets pretty close. Protecting the integrity of the game Published: Thursday 28 March 2013, 11.42CET The Professional Football Strategy Council has adopted a joint position paper that includes a concrete action plan to protect the integrity of football and fight match-fixing. http://www.uefa.com/uefa/stakeholders/professionalfootballstrategycouncil/news/newsid=1935156.html VI. Contribution of betting industry Organiser's right to a fair return in the context of sports betting as a compensation from the betting industry for the commercial exploitation of sports competition organisers' rights Contractual and binding agreements with betting operators, also to establish the types of bet allowed Prohibition to offer bets on youth competitions at national and European level Financial revenues to be deployed in the fight to protect the integrity of sport, as well as to support grassroots sport, youth development or CSR activities Introduction of betting operators standards in cooperation with sports bodies This may well explain the timing because if the agreement was implemented in March then it filtered through the various associations and they put the agreements in place with the bookies and Ladbrokes reported it to the SFA then all that takes a few months. You don't investigate a report about betting on 150 odd games overnight. Also I don't believe that this would have been sprung on Black or Rangers yesterday. I am pretty sure that both Club and player would have been on notice that he was under investigation and probably given the opportunity to comment before charges were brought.
  20. Most board meetings I've ever been to just about everything is decided in advance and there is little genuine discussion or decision making at the actual meeting itself. No sensible director would leave decisions on matters as important as this to chance "on the night".
