  1. Perhaps but that wouldn't make them members unless the existing members agreed at an EGM. I can't see existing "paid" members agreeeing to allow new members in for free.
  2. I hope it's OK to reply to myself. SDS understanding is that if RST wish to make membership free then they should get their members approval for this. They could in the meantime offer fans the opportunity to register with them for nothing and then make them full members should the members meeting agree the change. Alternatively they could do as the Man Utd ST do and have "E-Members" who join the organisation but are not members. They don't have voting rights and don't get documents by post. In effect they are simply on a communications list but it broadens the contacts that the trust has. Given the critical nature of the desire to recruit new members one of these routes should be fine. This information was relayed to RST around 2.00pm today, hopefully in time for them to discuss at their Board Meeting this evening.
  3. Thanks, you need to move fast around here! As stated, Mr Whyte is only Company Secretary but that is an important position with legal responsibilities. I have checked the FSA Register today and cannot find him registered in any capacity with any firm. That would mean (thankfully) he could not legally give anyone financial or investment advice.
  4. Remember the Private Eye article that I posted last April? FSA Notice On 10 February 2012, we issued a Supervisory Notice stopping Pritchard Stockbrokers Limited carrying out its business. In addition, we have frozen the firmâ??s assets and the investor money and assets it holds. Here we explain what it means if you are an investor with the firm. Why has the FSA taken this action? We have serious concerns about the way that Pritchard Stockbrokers has been running its business and handling investor money. We are concerned that the firm has failed to adequately protect the money that it holds on behalf of investors, and has allowed this money to be used to meet its own costs. (Ringing any bells?) What does this mean to you? We have taken this action to protect investorsâ?? money by freezing the firmâ??s and investorsâ?? money and assets. We are continuing to work with the firm, but for now investors cannot withdraw their money. Will you get your money back? We are carrying out detailed work to assess the next steps for the business and will keep you updated on what this means for your money. What happens next? Customers and clients should contact Pritchard Stockbrokers in the first instance. We have instructed Pritchard Stockbrokers to contact investors by 17 February 2012 with further information. Guess who was appointed Company Secretary of Pritchard Stockbrokers on Form: CH03 - Change of particulars for Secretary SECRETARY'S CHANGE OF PARTICULARS / CRAIG WHYTE / 01/10/2009 Filed on: 19 Apr 2010 The FSA Register is currently unavailable so can't check if he is still a director or not.
  5. That was about Mr Whyte, the ex-Mrs Whyte is quite another matter.
  6. I'd like him in chains but not at Ibrox.
  7. Happy to help you with that, Christine. The Society's Rules state inter alia: 11. Members are to pay an annual subscription of such reasonable sum as the Society Board shall decide, the first payment to be made at the time of application for membership. The sum of £1 from the first payment shall be applied to purchase a share in the Society. It clear from that that the minimum first memberhsip fee would be £1 and I think is arguable that even in succeeding years the expression "reasonable sum" implies an amount greater than zero. So IMHO the Board can set a membership fee down to £1 but removing the requirement to pay an annual subscription altogether would require an AGM. It MIGHT also be a breach of SD Rules, I am not sure but I can find out for you tomorrow.
  8. This facility already exists through Gersave which allowed the purchase of 83,318 shares (0.08%) for 50,000 in December 2007. The balance in that account in July 2010 was over £75,000 so I am guessing that it would be well over £100,000 by now. We had mapped out "The Road to Ibrox" with an initial target of just under £2M to acquire the 5% necessary to call an EGM and the £38M then thought necessary to acquire complete control of the Company.
  9. This was discussed at length when I was the Secretary in 2010 and we were formulating the plan buy the Club underwritten by a person who was unknown to us at the time (represented only by solicitors) but who who we later found out was McColl. There are pros and cons as has been said: free membership is likely to swell the membership enormously in the short term but is it meaningful? There is also the issue mentioned by PLG of fairness to those who have already paid annual or life membrship. If free membership was introduced then would anyone pay the next year and then how would an already stretched organisation cover its costs. Paid membership implies some form of commitment and there could be concessions for students and pensioners. I personally proposed a £5 fee for those categories but it was defeated at the time because RST being composed of volunteers, did not have the administrative capacity to cope.
  10. A slight over-simplification on my part, of course employer's NIC is not deducted from wages but is charged at the same time and is due to paid at the same time as the deductions for the employees' NIC and PAYE. So it will have been included in the £9M total outstanding. Non- payment of NIC affects the emloyee's entitlement to benefits although hopefully none of our highly paid superstars will be joining the breadline any time soon! Either way we are agreed that non-payment is morally indefensible and criminal.
  11. If you were starting from scratch the Hamburg model would be what you would go for e.g. there are committees with supporters representatives at all levels of the Club and the supporters ass'n have offices at the Club and run the away tickets etc. The problem with that in this country is the legal structure of limited companies and I'm not sure if it would work out of administration. However, Dundee proved that the supporters could bring a club out of administration and own a majority stake but in a MUCH smaller club; and quickly lost it again when big money was put on the table.
  12. Surely after all the negotiations any sensible person would have made sure that the Cousin deal was watertight before bringing in the Administrators.
  13. All that was tried two years ago mate and not one of them would put their hands in their pockets when the chance was there to buy the Club from SDM. Of course it's a different ball game now but agreeing a structure for it is the biggest obstacle.
  14. If you were a player now would you be motivated by playing for second place or could Ally convince you you still had a chance of winning the League.
  15. That sounds right to me Craig. CW/Wavetower/whatever has a charge/is secured on Ibrox Stadium, Murray Park, the lease for the Albion etc in respect of the debt of £18M used to pay off LBG (whether it came from Ticketus or wherever) Ticketus are secured on the next three seasons season ticket money for £24M (or £20M or whatever large sum of money). Close Bros are secured on the catering sales for money that was used to refurbish the concourses etc (£1.4M-£1.7M) The Bond/Debenture Holders are next in line but won't get anything. HMRC are next. Then other creditors who might include season ticket holders (although it's hard to see the Administrators going down that route). Am I correct?
  16. And it wouldn't exactly have come as a major surprise. I am quite sure the press release was written days if not weeks ago.
  17. A very strong argument I'd say. PAYE works both ways. The Club collects it from wages along with Employees and Employers NIC and should pay it over to HMRC by the 20th? of the next month. Failure to do so means that the Club is in effect using the employees tax deductions and NIC to fund other operations or debts. This is much worse than not paying for other goods or services or fees owed; although both could lead to a charge of trading whilst insolvent.
  18. I may be wrong on this BD but I was told some time back and again today that you are actually a secured creditor or have equivalent status (certainly ranking above ordinary shareholders) i.e. next in line behind CW, but it is likely that you will lose the free loan you gave the Club and with it the right to buy a ticket in the bond deck.
  19. Absolutely no doubt.
  20. I hope youi'll forgive me dB but I do not see what judges decisions in cases about sectarian songs have to do with the case under discussion here or other recent cases where Rangers (not Mr Whyte) have been taken to court for non payment of legitimate bills.
  21. Was in Malmo for the match, nice place but a bit pricey!
  22. No it isn't. In his ruling on the case, Sheriff Ross stated: "I accept the evidence led by the pursuer (One Stop Roofing) as credible and reliable, and supported by the available documentation. "I reject the evidence of Mr Whyte as wholly unreliable. "It is not possible to ascertain whether he is not telling the truth or is simply unable to recollect the true position, and has convinced himself that this arrangement is something that he would not have entered into. "Either way, his evidence is contradicted by virtually every other piece of evidence." Walter Mitty springs to mind.
  23. As I have said several times before, based on my conversations with his representative in Guernsey at the time of his aborted takeover bid and other information from his close friends, AE has no interest in Rangers per se, his interest is purely in property development. That's not to say he isn't going to work on "marketing and sponsorship" but there is no evidence that he is experienced in that area.
  24. Smacks of desperation in my view.
  25. Pascal Feindouno (born 27 February 1981 in Conakry) is a Guinean international footballer, who plays as a winger. Feindouno started his European career at FC Girondins de Bordeaux in July 1998, and scored the goal which gave the club the Ligue 1 Championship title in 1999. He spent the 2001-02 season at Lorient, and was sold by Bordeaux to Saint-tienne before the 2004-05 season. He missed Guineas lost quarter final against Ivory Coast in the 2008 African Nations due to suspension. In summer 2007 he was linked to a move away from his club, with many sides from all over Europe interested in his services. Feindouno stated his desire to link up with close friend and former Lorient team mate Jean-Claude Darcheville at Scottish side Rangers in May 2007 or in the January transfer window of 2008.[1] On 12 October 2007, it was reported that English Premiership giant Liverpool F.C.'s manager Rafael Benítez would make a bid to purchase him at the next January transfer window, strengthening the attacking field.[2] On 24 September 2008 he moved to Al-Sadd Sports Club in the Qatar National First Division for 7 Million, signing a contract for four years.[3] After a one year in Al Sadd Sports Club,he was transferred to Al Rayyan Sports club on a one year on loan. On 29 January 2010 he moved to Al-Nassr on 3 months loan. In the summer 2010 transfer window, he reportedly attracted interest from Everton, Blackburn Rovers and Bolton Wanderers but nothing came of it. Celtic are reported to be interested in the midfielder and have apparently offered him a trial. Celtic apparently offered him a contract worth £10,000 a week on 11 December 2010.[4] On February 2011, he confirmed that he has signed for Monaco after being at trial in Celtic, Wigan.[5] He left Monaco after their relegation and on 22 June joined Swiss Super League outfit FC Sion. On January 2012 he left Sion after Swiss Football Association deducted 36 points for fielding ineligible players. (Wikipedia) Another left footer we can play on the right perhaps?
