  1. Whether that comment was directed at me or dB it is complete and utter nonsense. You have absolutely no evidence for that at all. In my case, I have made the point that King hasn't invested what he implied he was going to invest, he has been disingenuous in referring to share purchases as "investment in the Club" which it is not and I very much doubt that he ever will invest the £30 million that he said he would invest (and yes I agree not all at once) AND I think he is making a big mistake saying that more will be invested ONCE we qualify for Europe; because IF we qualify then we will be playing next mid July, so how and when are we goiung to acquire and bed in the new players required? AND I've suggested in a light hearted way that there might be a greater possibility of getting £30/£50 million from Rd Bull than DK; something with which I would suggest to you many fans might find themselves in agreement. Which part of any of that suggests that I haven't "got over king ousting leach and lambias" or that dB suggested that by disagreeing with SBS comment? I'm sure dB will also enlighten you if he feels the need.
  2. That would be great if he was. Give him a call and let us know what he says.
  3. In a poll on this site, yes; and I've explained countless times why I thought that was right at the time and later changed my mind about them. Can we please move on. I'm not entirely clear what that has to do with Red Bull possibly investing in Rangers, please enlighten me?
  4. Why don't you ask your pal Big John the same question; he's not managed to get much out DK's petty cash so far, has he?
  5. Put it like this, I think we've more chance of getting £30/50 million from them than Mr David King.
  6. Bearing in mind John Gilligan's background in the drinks trade, it's not entirely beyond the bounds of possibility that they could be persuaded to do something. Obviously they're not going to get naming us the Red Bull Rangers or Red Bull Ibrox Stadium but I would stick a red bull on our jerseys and give them Murray Park (or is it officially Auchenhowie or something else now) for the right money. Red Bull Park (so what). Rangers are exponentially bigger than Leipzig will ever be in name awareness around the world, so why not? At the very least our directors should be sounding them out when they're over there.
  7. First and foremost we need to be solid in defence. So Hodson must come in for Tavernier and if Hill is fit he should replace Wilson. Tavernier has cost us three goals in two games, so his time is up. I don't like Kiernan but fact is Kiernan and Hill have been our best combination at CB, it's a critical game, so they have to play. I wish I thought there was a chance of us going 4-4-2. If there was then I would opt for Garner and Dodoo up top. Dodoo is the only player who's had the ball in the net for us in the past two games (and made the other goal for Forrester v Thistle), so he's made or scored all our goals in the last three games and surely he has to start, but not as a loan Ranger up front. It's worth noting that if the "goal" at Tynecastle had counted he'd be joint top scorer in the League alongside Halliday, Garner, Miller and Forrester with a massive 3 goals. (When was the last time at this stage that we had barely amassed a goal a game in the League? Hearts have scored 10 more than us for the loss of only one more; Aberdeen 3 more and 4 less. I won't mention......). If it's goals that count then Forrester should start as well and that criteria would let Halliday in, much as his performances don't merit him a place, who else do we have? IF we are going for a win and it's 4-3-3 then Holt, Halliday & Forrester might be the best MF (and IMO, MF is Forrester's best position, he's not a winger); leaving Dodoo (not a winger either), Garner and McKay/Miller as the front three. If per chance we go to 4-4-2 then the only other midfielder available is Crooks at the possible expense of McKay/Miller up front. Most likely Plan A again so: Foderingham; Hodson, Kiernan, Hill, Wallace; Holt, Halliday, Forrester; Dodoo, Garner, Miller or McKay. But I think that MW will play Crooks & Miller, which means that either Dodoo or Forrester won't start.
  8. I have no idea if the story is true or not but one has to wonder how this friendly came about. However, if there's one iota of truth in the story and even if there isn't; a large contingent of well behaved bears in Leipzig will do wonders for our cause.. If RB see 4,000/5,000 fans travelling from Scotland to Germany for a meaningless friendly in January it might make them stop to think. Equally of course, any sign of trouble, will have the opposite impact.
  9. Yes, I'm looking at Friday to Monday as well but plan to stay in Leipzig, not because you're staying in Berlin, but because I've been to Berlin before.
  10. Anyone up for a trip post here or PM.
  11. Rangers just received an allocation of circa 4,000 tickets.
  12. I doubt they would respect it for DP but perhaps with the added Chapecoense team they will surprise us; I certainly hope so.
  13. Now I'll agree with you, it's really 4-5-1 and that's because not even the magic hat can fit square pegs into round holes.
  14. My g-d, did you (and every single bear) just agree with me FS, need to put a stop to that.
  15. Is that not a good reason to change to 4-4-2?
  16. I think it's fairly obvious that Waghorn is not getting a game for other reasons.
  17. Hearts are above us on GD and Aberdeen are 2 points behind with 2 games in hand; of course Saturday might change all that. Celtic, Aberdeen and Hearts have all beaten us by a collective 9-2 admittedly all away; and we failed to beat St Johnstone at home. However, in terms of football played this season, I would suggest that Aberdeen & Hearts have shown the better than us. All teams have injuries and have to change their team; we have a 23 man squad as we are constantly being reminded "it's about using the squad".
  18. I think it's a bit of both. IMO the players aren't good enough but at the same time, I think they've lost faith in the tactics employed because they know that without a quality CMF player or a mobile striker they can't play 4-3-3, we're being overrun in MF no matter how hard they try or don't try and my feeling is that they would be a lot more comfortable in a solid 4-4-2. For Halliday to say that they had (yet another) team meeting and they're all going to pull their socks up (paraphrasing) is some condemnation of what has been going on recently.
  19. You have consistently argued since the start of the season (I'm not going to waste time researching the first iteration) that Rangers ARE the second best team in Scotland; the facts prove that they are not and have not been up to this point. You defined the question not me. I'll answer your question once we've played all the teams twice and I see what the January transfer window brings; but right now I think we'll struggle to finish above Aberdeen.
  20. An interesting and well written piece, thanks.
  21. That wasn't the question. The question is: are we the second best team in Scotland right now?
  22. As far as I can trace he scored 33 goals (and 21 assists) in 167 games in the English Championship. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/martyn-waghorn/leistungsdaten/spieler/61674/plus/0?saison=ges https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martyn_Waghorn Given that a significant number of his appearances were on the RW, I think that qualifies as "holding your own" if not exactly electrifying.
  23. Benefit of hindsight perhaps but are you still saying the same about Tavernier after Wednesday night. To me he's lost it going forward and hasn't improved defensively. He's cost us 3 goals in the last two games.
  24. Yes he did, Craig; see OP (7) quoted at #80.
