  1. Tomorrow we meet Stirling Albion on league business for the first time since March 16 1968. Orjan Persson scored a hat-trick - an og from left back Corrigan and another from Alex Ferguson completed a 5-0 rout
  2. ...and Liam McLeod should be abducted by...well I'll volunteer for the job...and taken to somewhere where he'll never be heard again in 'football' circles.
  3. That'll do for me (although I won't be watching it anyway) as long as they keep their cameras out of Ibrox, that's fine.
  4. Please, please please tell me that the baised fucked up bbc with the awful commentator, the squeaky voiced cunt macleod, will NOT be showing it live. Do Sky have any rights to broadcast this competition?
  5. After a trophyless season in 1976-77 under Jock Wallace, Rangers started '77-'78 with two league defeats to Aberdeen away (1-3) then Hibs at Ibrox (0-2)...the fans demonstrated outside after the game demanding the managers head. Wallace survived and went on to win his second treble.
  6. Rangers play Clyde on the Sunday before 12.45 k.o. Bheasts play on the Saturday before. With both at home, looks like we'll be playing on Wed night 31st
  7. Should be interesting though. Will the 'Old Firm' get back into bed with each other?
  8. CELTIC chief Dermot Desmond last night admitted Scottish football needs Rangers back in the SPL as soon as possible. The Parkhead majority shareholder spoke for the first time about the Ibrox clubâ??s demise and their demotion to the Third Division. And his comments are in stark contrast to those of Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell who claimed the club didnâ??t need their Old Firm rivals. Back in February, Lawwell said: â??Weâ??ll survive very well. There will be no material impact on our business going forwardâ? before the club hit out at First Minister Alex Salmond for claiming Celtic â??canâ??t prosper unless Rangers are thereâ?. Desmond, though, is adamant Rangers wonâ??t be out of the top flight for too long. And he insists their history and traditions are key to the Scottish game. The Irishman said: â??Rangers are a fantastic club with a great history. They will, in not too long a time, be back in the SPL. I have no doubt about that. â??And theyâ??re needed for Scottish football because of their following, the size of the club and especially their history. We certainly would like to contest with them every week. We believe we have a better team and management structure. â??For us, itâ??s disappointing that they are not there but thatâ??s decisions by the various clubs and leagues and we accept those. â??Rangers are one of the great clubs in Britain and we have to acknowledge that. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/celtic-chief-dermot-desmond-wants-1359461
  9. ...if it weren't for CL qualification liewell would already be out the door, but his time will come.
  10. THREE days before the above game Rangers had SIX players in the team for Scotland's World Cup qualifier v Czechoslovakia. Scotland lost 4-0
  11. In the first leg of the 1961 European Cup Winners Cup Final at Ibrox, with the score standing at 0-1 to Fiorentina, Rangers captain Eric Caldow missed a penalty kick - shooting wide of the target. This is Eric exchanging pennants with the Italian captain Alberto Orzan before kick-off.
  12. Here he is with the cup....... .....celebrating with the team.
  13. I looked for 'Rangers Legend' Brown on youtube and came up with nothing???? Telling a lie...he knocked out an opponent and that's it????
  14. I'm a fat bastard too (well what do you expect, I'm 27 now)...and some are kidding themselves.
  15. A lovely pink strip would be nice then no-one would complain, especially the pansies amongst our support even the fairies over at the unwashed would have very nicey nicey things to say about us....but we are MEN! Not pansies/fairies. Orange will do for me. Hope this post doesn't offend all things unwashed?
  16. Willie Thornton, Rangers centre forward meets Monty before the 1948 Scotland v England match at Hampden Park. [/img]
  17. In Sept 1976 after clinching their place in the Quarter-Final of the League Cup, Rangers were drawn against first division Clydebank, a side containing a 21 years old unknown winger by the name of Davie Cooper. In those days the game was decided over two legs. In the first game at Ibrox The Bankies went ahead 1-0, Derek Johnstone equalised, but before half time the away side went in front again - scoring with a penalty kick past McCloy. Alex MacDonald and Johnny Hamilton looked to have rescued blushes in the 2nd half to make it 3-2, but with only 12 minutes remaining Cooper squared it 3-3. The 2nd leg at Kilbowie Park John Greig put Rangers ahead 2 minutes from half time, but the young Davie Cooper netted on 62 minutes to cancel out the lead and no further goals were scored, the tie went into extra-time...no more goals, it finished 1-1. A replay took place back at Ibrox, the game finished 0-0 after another gruelling extra-time, Alex Miller missed a spot kick during the match. A second replay, this time at Firhill Park - Derek Parlane put the 'Gers ahead after only 7 minutes only for Cooper to level once again a minute later. Half-time 1-1. On the hour mark Bobby McKean scored for Rangers to finally put Clydebank and Cooper to bed. Rangers signed Davie in the summer of '77. It turned out a good signing for Rangers for they won the treble with Davie the main man in a very good side under Jock Wallace. Jock Wallace became the 1st manager to win TWO Trebles, John Greig won his THIRD treble as a player - a record for any one player. Thank God for Davie Cooper.
  18. You really have to laugh (I'm not) at some who stick up for ex-players on here, so Bomber done this and Bomber done that. WOW!! Amazing guys eh? He sold the jersey's - that's what I remember.
  19. That to me sounds dodgy with no foundation whatsoever.
  20. Bomber's an alky...so I'll write him off until he gets himself into rehab and sorted. In the the meantime JB stop going for a pay day to our enemies and slagging us off. Rehab Bomber.
  21. The man obviously needs help, the drink can do strange things to people.
  22. In May 1986 Rangers beat Celtic 3-2 in the Glasgow Charity Cup Final. Super Ally scored a hat-trick. Here he is with the trophy.......
  23. Personally I love the 5 stars, to me they enhance the crest. The unwashed hate them.
  24. Not sure 'Tennents' will be happy with it tho' lol
