  1. New thread started for the upcoming championship. All things Euros in here. I dont like it being spread around, I always prefer one country to hold the event (Its almost like they knew about what was coming). Some countries have home games yet others like Wales v Switzerland being thrown out to Baku - its just bizarre. I backed Belgium at the last World Cup - I think that was their best chance to win something. Eden Hazard is out of form and De Bruyne has the injury from in the CL final - it looks a sore one. England look very good on paper but have a tough route. I will have a look at the groups before Prediction the winner. I currently have a sneaky Portugal will retain it.
  2. I vaguely remember the name. Wasnt that the bloke from Bergerac? Now an episode of the latter in the day might have been worth watching over a game. I cant believe Mrs Comp didnt drip a few drops of liquor into that pop.
  3. Was wondering that myself - I think not. With him excluded Blackpool are a good team to look out for as Im sure we have all had good nights out there - I know I did. Division 4 one year Championship Play offs the next etc (not literally obviously).
  4. Blackpool up to the Championship, beating Lincoln in the play off. Good on them.
  5. Easy tiger - There is about 50 Euro Championship games coming up to predict
  6. Yeah random was probably the wrong choice of word, what I was more meaning was the changing around of the false 9 he plays. He has these 5 or 6 players and they have been moved around into different slots throughout the season. De Bruyne should have been deployed deeper to get on the ball and dictate the game then they could probably have got away with no DM. Torres is a form player and I was surprised he never started. But Chelsea played with hunger and intensity and were impressive. Some of the defensive blocks were cracking but unlike a Mourinho type team they were ready to break. The more I see of Tuchel the more I like him and think he is going to be a superb coach in the Premier League.
  7. Yeah. My mate sat in line with the goal line Broomloan end and quite far back. You cant see the corner flag and part of the pitch at the Copland / East Enclosure.
  8. Yeah it can be difficult. But as some have previously said front and centre has some viewing but there are quite a bit of restricted views - and the cost up their was very high when I had mine. I wonder if part of the refurb could be to reduce the capacity a bit in the Club Deck to make it better viewing and more spacious. I think it holds 7000 but a shuffle around and taking down to 6000 may work better and add 1000 elsewhere in the ground if possible.
  9. Best final for a while for the neutral. Very well deserved from Chelsea. Tuchel has Peps number, 3 wins in a row. A lot is being made how Pep got it wrong but Tuchel got it equally right. I actually wonder if Pep may fancy a change of scenery and head back to Barca. Pep not starting with a holding midfielder was wrong and he should have changed it at half time - plus he just randomly positioned his 6 midfielders out on the park. But if you dont play a holding midfielder at least play a striker to give some shape. Chelsea superbly never let any of Citys key players have any space. Kante was just immense and Azpilicueta was superb. I like Havertz he will only get better and has the potential to be one of the best players in the league. You have to ask have Chelsea overtaken Arsenal as Londons elite side? Trophy Count: Europe: Chelsea 6-1 Arsenal (Not including Super Cup or Inter-cities Cup) (2-0 in the big one - Champions League) League Titles: Chelsea 6-13 Arsenal FA Cups: Chelsea 8-14 Arsenal League Cups: Chelsea 5-2 Arsenal Total: Chelsea 25-30 Arsenal
  10. I actually thought this was a wind up most of yesterday until last night reading they are in talks.
  11. Very good final for a change, Chelsea with a well deserved lead. They look more up for it and are playing well. If Werner could shoot they would have taken the lead sooner.
  12. Eagles (Palace). Well done Brentford, nice to see a new side into the league.
  13. Champions League Prediction. Ive said City will win it for months and will stick by that. Im going for: Man City 2-0 Chelsea
  14. ? ? They dont have a plan B. No way do they have someone else lined up after months of talks with Howe. Cant blame Howe for doing a U-turn, he will get a decent job in England. Kennedy would be comical.
  15. Noticed Tottenham released Danny Rose yesterday. If we could do a deal with wages doesnt anyone think he would be a good signing as back up for Barisic so Aribo doesnt have to fill in at LB? Rose will know Defoe and Gerrard well from the England set up.
  16. Everton have got a good sized support in the far east. I went to one of the summer tournaments a few years ago with Arsenal, Everton and Stoke. Everton rocked up with a big crowd from their SE Asia supporters clubs. They filled a section of the stadium. Arsenal are the current under achievers with the biggest potential though. A mega rich owner who could spend a bit of cash their would blow Spurs away.
  17. I loved the Club deck, had a season ticket for couple of seasons up there. Back then it was still quite fresh though. The only fault up their for me was unless you were a midget you left every game with bruised knees as there is zero leg room. Im average height - no idea what it must feel like for guys 6ft plus.
  18. Didnt hear that Dundee Utd one. Another one done yesterday at Bramall Lane. Sheff Utd appoint former Fulham and Watford manager Jokanovic. He got both those sides promoted from Championship so it could be a shrewd appointment.
  19. Thats Allegri off the market - he is going back to Juventus and replacing Pirlo. A few big sides have missed a trick not going for Allegri while he was on a free - bizarre one. Mo Pochettino in talks about going back to Spurs? Whats going on! That would free up PSG - Zidane??
  20. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11788/12317854/sir-kenny-dalglish-says-rangers-boss-steven-gerrard-should-sign-more-scottish-players Never heard so much nonsense. Where do you begin to debate this one. Firstly we sign players who benefit Rangers and the national team is not our responsibility at all.
  21. Also - I didnt add - What the club have been doing over the previous summers of doing internal upgrades and repairs is very sensible. This would be first and foremost. Lots of Man Utd fans are complaining about how Old Trafford internally is being run down with leakages in the roof etc.
  22. Interesting. I wonder what capacity they are thinking about.
  23. Conte leaves Inter after winning title. Zidane reported to have left Real Madrid last night. Lille manager Galtier leaves after winning French title. Tottenham, Wolves, Palace, West Brom all looking for new managers. Celtic obviously are also but cant seem to get Howe over the line unless they are waiting for Steve Clarke (I hope so). Malky McKay returns to management with Ross County - he is a manager I actually rate and think he could do much better. Looks like the manager movements from club to club will be more busy than player transfers.
  24. Well done! Hope you had a flutter on that.
  25. Its embarrassing to have someone in the SFA getting football mixed up with bowls. The most Scotland could win is the fair play award. I fear the England game at Wembley plus Croatia at Hampden. Both could be cricket scores.
