  1. Its cost them 52.4 Million to get rid of Moyes, Van Gaal, Mourinho, Solskjaer and Ten Haag. 15M Mourinho was the highest with 14.5M for Ten Haag just behind. 4.1 Million for Ashworth after getting him out of Newcastle then parting just a few months into the job. Disaster ran club.
  2. These predictions are to easy! Great result for Arsenal, its title race on if they win their game in hand.
  3. Now that Real Madrid have negotiated the play off they will be favourites to win the tournament now. City not being able to compete with them for the first time in the last 4-5 years. Third Italian team to go out with PSV overturning them. Feyenoord and PSV knock out AC Milan and Juventus!
  4. Will be interesting if they get Leverkusen. Its either them or Atletico Madrid. PSV v Juventus (1-2) is the better match tonight - very much in the open. 2 Italian teams went out last night, could be another tonight. Cant see Man City overturning Real Madrid, there seems to be hype because City thumped Newcastle with Gonzalez now being the new Rodri after 1 game.
  5. Chelsea definitely need to rebuild or build new to progress, Stamford Bridge is holding them back with only having a 41000 capacity. There still isnt much room behind the goal to the right (camera view) nor the 3 tier stand with the railway directly behind it. But they can easily turn the pitch and move it down. Ive stayed in the Hotel at the stadium before and there is a bit of space while walking around the old shed end and the other stand. But it would be a massive job to build a new stadium on that site but they dont have much options as Battersea power station was pretty much their only option. Im also surprised they dont have a shirt sponsor for additional revenue.
  6. A rearranged game tonight, Villa not in the best form - having a sloppy draw with Ipswich at home last weekend. But they are good under the lights in the big games and I fancy them to get something. Aston Villa 2-2 Liverpool
  7. Im on the same page as you. Every Rangers team I can remember has had the odd home bizarre defeat like the Motherwell game, I remember being a game in 2000 under Advocaat as Kilmarnock won 3-0 at Ibrox. But they were total one offs and the bounce back was immediate. That defeat at Dingwall for me was the game where it all started and thats the one we didnt recover from.
  8. Goodison gets a good atmosphere but if ever there was a stadium that was tired looking its that one. Im sure there will be the digital advertisements and scoreboard around the concrete middle before the start of next season which will finish that stadium off nicely. I thought the capacity would be a bit more than 52,888 they could have got nearer 60,000. Clubs building stadiums like Leicester, Stoke, Southampton and Derby was common for a while but there seems to be a lot of people saying they become soulless and clubs have gone away with that which is great. Aston Villa are adding 8000 seats with a new stand which will make Villa Park up to date and pretty awesome. Spurs built on White Hart Lane Site. Man Utd will either rebuild Old Trafford or build on site. Newcastle will build on current site (albeit may move 100-200 meters behind the current stadium). Nottingham Forest are staying at the City Ground and building a new stand. Palace - Building a new stand.
  9. Poor result for Bayern that! Fair one to Feyenoord, I fancied them yesterday to go through.
  10. Capitulated is the right word - and havent recovered since those results, just further regression. If it was a blip then fair enough, he originally had enough credit after getting us into the title race this time last year after Beale disaster but now we have gone a longer period with these poor performances and results so quite rightly massive questions to be asked.
  11. Second legs tonight. AC Milan v Feyenoord (0-1) - This will be tough for Milan to overturn, I think it could go to Penalties. Atalanta v Club Brugge (1-2) I think a home win and enough to go through. Benfica v Monaco (1-0) home win to finish the job. Bayern Munich v Celtic (2-1) I think Bayern hit them for 3 or 4.
  12. Sunderland have probably blown their chances of auto promotion, a couple of bad home draws and lates goals. Although its Sheff Utd v Leeds next Monday night so the door may open again especially for Burnley.
  13. There is no way they will go down, Ipswich and Wolves would need to win 4 more games out of 13 than Man Utd and thats not happening.
  14. Yeah Butland. Outfield Hagi but Dessers was good when he came on.
  15. Holy Mahogany - Long long long time Pete. Hope you are doing well. For the thread - I'm trying to think of the most bizarre, it would defo be overseas somewhere
  16. Tottenham win to get back to back league wins and 12th is slightly better on the eye for them. But Man Utd are in crisis, I dont think Amorin signed up for this and I can see him walking unless he gets about 7 first teamers in the summer.
  17. Agreed chaps, Boyd drives me bonkers. He seems to have a personal agenda. We all want more effort and more attractive football. However we still have a far bigger budget than the other 10 league clubs and there is no excuse for being so poor away from home at St Mirren, Motherwell, Dundee etc.
  18. I hear what you are saying but yesterday was a bizarre way to win, no way can we rely on 2 own goals every week and the keeper keeping us in it at 0-0.
  19. Not sure what to say. That might go down as our worst win ever if there is such a thing. Second half was better than the first but it wasnt exactly difficult to play like the first 45 again. I dont think the manager or players can hide, that result actually papers over a lot of cracks. Still - a nice way to stick it up to Hearts though.
  20. Got to sign McCart in the summer It was a great ball from Hagi back in his 10 role
  21. One team that cant defend against one team that cant attack, it could be any scoreline. Liverpool v Wolves isnt a great game to be part of a Super Sunday double, fair enough if it was at Molineux but this should be a routine comfortable home win.
  22. Absolute dire on the eye, Butland 3 top notch saves although he created the third one. Very lucky to be leading.
  23. Depressing. I have the feeling we will get out numbered in midfield today
  24. City back in the top 4 and I expect them to stay there and eventually get 3rd. There are just grounds teams never turn up and Newcastle cant show up at the Etihad. Bournemouth in 5th is unreal, and as it stands in a Champions League place. West Ham - disaster. The PE teacher is off to a slow start. The manager they should have went for was in the opposite dugout. Everton - What a transformation Moyes has done, they are now going for top 10. Arsenal - cant run the rest of the season hoping midfielders will bail them out like that.
  25. And Eustace first game is a hammering at QPR that was so bad they dropped into the relegation zone on goal difference. The teams around them have 2 games in hand but luckily for Derby that Hull, Luton and Plymouth all have tough fixtures today
