  1. Nobody can question his footballing ability but since becoming a pundit he is just a misery to listen to. The "class of 92" just dont seem to be able to cut it at maangement. G Neville was a disaster, P Neville has gone into the ladies game, Giggs - jury still out and Scholes jumped ship after 30 days.
  2. Alan McRae is his mate hence getting the job. McLeish was sacked in England, Belgium and Egypt and wasnt being considered for another club yet Scotland take him on. Its gone backwards massively and id say Strachan was doing OK. Even my Mum was sitting with me half hoping it would be funny if Kazak went on to score again. I know a lot of fellow bears have lost interest in Scotland for various reasons for a long time but I was a bit later and in the last 12 months Ive lost interest in them which is a shame. I seriously wouldnt be surprised with San Marino outdoing this and getting something on Sunday. You just look around Europe and see countries like Belgium and Netherlands rip up the current book and start again to produce good sides. The Spanish and Germans obviously have done it with better players. Yet look at all the former Yugoslavian nations who are only 25 years old and produce quality from somewhere. Eck is part of the problem but its far deeper than just the coach. A new younger fresher coach would help and it could easily be foreigner, Vogts has put a spanner in that idea wrongly IMO.
  3. Poor Gers. Not only did it let my accumulator down tonight for 400 quid but thats 3 wins Aberdeen have had after not winning in around 28 years. The last thing we want is to have hoodoos over Aberdeen and Hibs. I still cant work out why Katic isnt first pick. He must be thinking this also considering Worrall is a loan. That leaves a potential hole next season.
  4. McGregors timing was obviously well thought and a bit of a middle finger to the SFA. As Scott says with his names (his generation before mine) - did the names in the past probably underachieve?? Even in Euro 96 Broon used to get a bit of grief for his selections (Gough and Robertson should have been starters) yet he got us to tournaments but we was always a bit of magic short. Goram Hendry Gough Weir McNamara Ferguson Lambert Collins Robertson Durie McCoist
  5. Great win for the Arsenal. To think if Auba had put that pen away against Spurs last week they would be above them in third now, when a few weeks ago Spurs had a chance to go 2 behind the leaders - a big collapse at Spurs. Spurs still have to go to Anfield and City but Arsenal dont have to play another team in the top 6, they should be favorites for top 4 now. Utd still have City and Chelsea to play. Chelsea still have Liverpool and Utd away. I think prediction of the week goes to yours truly Southampton 2-1 Tottenham ? But a good shout from Compo on Newcastle. I was glad to see them come back as Pickford shouldnt have been on the pitch when he saved the penalty.
  6. 3 run on's in 3 games in 3 days - all televised.
  7. Have they gone mad? They cut Rangers allocation for league matches which they can do although its only for bitterness, yet for the cup match they have shot themselves in the foot for income by trying to be smart. After doing this what exactly did they expect RFC to do for the replay? The only worry is if the replay allows 50/50 split of cash because there will still be over 40000 bears in the home support.
  8. Man Utds overturn has been given all the media attention but Ajax's result is by far the best in the competition that I can recall. They humped Real against the odds. I still think Barca will win it this year. Atletico and Juventus have dabbled in the past few years but I think Messi will pick up another CL medal and will knock out Juve at some point. Not Man Utds biggest fan but it was good to see Neymar going out.
  9. A few agreements Scott! Perhaps the week where one of us scoops. Sat: Crystal Palace 2-0 Brighton Cardiff 1-1 West Ham Huddersfield 1-1 Bournemouth Leicester 3-0 Fulham Newcastle 1-1 Everton Southampton 2-1 Tottenham Man City 3-0 Watford Sun: Liverpool 2-0 Burnley Chelsea 2-1 Wolves Arsenal 2-1 Man Utd
  10. Travelling so didnt get to produce a worse script than Scott. Although today. Watford 1-1 Leicester Fulham 0-2 Chelsea Everton 1-0 Liverpool
  11. I like midweek games but the are more unpredictable. Cardiff 1-1 Everton Huddersfield 0-1 Wolves Leicester 2-1 Brighton Newcastle 1-1 Burnley Arsenal 2-0 Bournemouth Southampton 2-0 Fulham Chelsea 1-1 Tottenham Crystal Palace 1-2 Man Utd Liverpool 2-0 Watford Man City 3-0 West Ham
  12. Massive weekend and it could be in Spurs favour if they pick up a win. The big one at Old Trafford could be a belter. Cardiff 1-1 Watford West Ham 2-0 Fulham Burnley 0-2 Tottenham Bournemouth 1-1 Wolves Newcastle 2-0 Huddersfield Leicester 2-1 Crystal Palace Arsenal 2-0 Southampton Man Utd 2-1 Liverpool League Cup Final - Chelsea 0-2 Man City
  13. How long can Sarri last after that. 2-0 at Arsenal, 4-0 at Bournemouth and 6-0 at City. He must be the only man in the world who would move a double Premier League winner and World Cup winner from his best position and not correct it after it not working.
  14. Going for 55 didnt necessarily mean in the first season, it meant we are back and thats the aim now. Plus I dont hear anything like that coming from Gerrard in his first year and with a new squad, Id say SG is going for it!
  15. Perhaps a bit easier to predict this weekend although that could still flip. Fulham 0-2 Man Utd Crystal Palace 1-1 West Ham Huddersfield 0-2 Arsenal Liverpool 3-0 Bournemouth Southampton 1-0 Cardiff Watford 1-1 Everton Brighton 0-0 Burnley Tottenham 1-0 Leicester Man City 2-0 Chelsea Wolves 1-0 Newcastle
  16. McInnes is getting more bitter by the month. It was his decision (thankfully) to turn down a job that was perhaps too big for him.
  17. Felt we were the better side 11 v 11 but was surprised how we were under the cosh more when it went 10 v 10 as both sides had to make changes. Both were reds IMO. In the first game of the season Gerrard made an offensive sub late on when McCrorie was the obvious choice that day but last night he maybe remembered that occasion and went defensive late on which i fine but I thought a tactical switch to leave Candeias on could have worked. TBH I didnt see us getting a 4th. But what a finish by Defoe. Morelos second goal was quality out of nothing but I liked Defoe's finish. Kent has all the potential in the world and the best signing we could make in the summer would be him.
  18. I didnt mate which was a silly miss. I'll be back in the bookies on the weekend though.
  19. I'll go with Man City winning by at least 2 goals and cant see them conceding. Everton 0-2 Man City.
  20. A week ago the Liverpool fans were saying give Benitez a medal...I think the City fans will be saying cancel that and give it to Pellegrini. Very well deserved draw for West Ham. Noble and Rice should have put WHU 2-1 up. What a crime that would have been if Origi had scored in the last kick of the game as he was well offside like the opening goal. To think a week ago they could have went 7 clear but by tomorrow night they could be second is a good feeling. City are getting through a tough run of fixtures. Arsenal, Everton (tomorrow) and Chelsea (Sunday).
  21. Spurs could quietly go second today with a win. Then they have Leicester (Home) Burnley (away the same weekend Liverpool go to Old Trafford). They arent out of it yet!
  22. I'll just take 3 points in any way today. The hard work was done at the end of 2018 to get level albeit with 1 game extra played but now its a case of catch up again due the fixtures not falling too kindly. So its all about keeping within touching distance. Its without doubt the strongest squad we have seen in many a year now and with a low injury list we can have a right good go between now and May. 3 pts today and Im perhaps looking forward to being at our next game.
  23. Form and paper quality is going out the window. Tottenham 2-0 Newcastle Brighton 0-1 Watford Burnley 1-1 Southampton Chelsea 2-0 Huddersfield Crystal Palace 3-1 Fulham Everton 2-2 Wolves Cardiff 1-1 Bournemouth Leicester 1-2 Man Utd Man City 3-0 Arsenal West Ham 1-1 Liverpool
  24. Good job from Leicester, that will do. Keeps it open. Had Liverpool moved 7 pts ahead then its a 3 game swing City would have needed. But 2 is certainly doable. Liverpool away to West Ham on Monday night under the lights isnt a gimmie. WHU are doing their usual good spell / bad spell but after a thumping from Wimbledon and Wolves they should be up for this one. City need to take care of Arsenal on Sunday though.
