  1. I am pretty certain they did and still do sponsor a stand at the Scumhut as well as printing the club`s magazines et al.
  2. On a related note, while scanning for transfers et al, it struck me that Sky and some other sports news outlets have used our 150-year crest instead of the usual one. E.g. Sky Sports.

  4. The first post has been updated. For those who want a quick look, Transfermarkt provides the overview as well as the squad by position options. The goalkeeping slot is well covered, with three main goalies and Firth as back-up, whatever his role at the club is. We`ve got 4 primary centre-halfs, with Bassey also an option. Each fullback position has two players, with Balogun an option for RB too. The DM role falls unto Kamara and Jack, either of which will partner Davies, possibly Lundstram. CM is covered with lots of utility folk who can play deep or more forward. The front three slots (assuming we keep going with the 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1) can be filled with quite a few people, as there is some versatility now. You would hope that we stop playing people out of form - or shall we say, not at 100 %. We`ve got Wright and Sakala now, so let`s use them. Quite a lot of those who have nearly no chance to get minutes have been shifted out, and we all have to wait and see what becomes of Barker. With Stewart, Jones and Middleton away, he is one of only 3 "real" wingers left (I don`t few Hagi as a winger), even though we hardly ever used a strict winger. All in all, we can be happy that we have kept all of our best people, let`s hope the team clicks again and keeps getting results. NB: Kevin Nisbet will have endeared himself to the Hibs support if he - as cwoodloyal noted - had agreed a deal with us. Maybe January then. EDIT: As cwoodloyal (ITK man) remarked, we had a deal agreed with Nisbet, but the money Hibs wanted was too much. They knocked a bid of 5m away a wee while ago. While I have heard a lot of good things about McCann, our midfield is loaded, our B-Team McCann a hot prospect ... so spending 1m on someone to be loaned out is probably not in our business model right now. Maybe next season.
  5. Itten played in 38 games last season. Morelos has his ups and downs, Roofe ain`t the most reliable on in terms of injuries. The latter was more often than not also used alongside another striker. We are an injury and a suspension away from relying on a player who`s not tested in Scotland and did not play in a sole-striker line-up either, plus Defoe and possibly Alegria. Downright silly IMHO, but no-one knows what the future will hold.
  6. Season long loan with option for a January return and - according to Fürth - option to buy.
  7. That`s downright silly ... but we shall see.
  8. Like we had all summer, mainly from supporters who like him and his style. Thing is, our midfield is loaded to the hilt, we`ve just signed Bacuna, who IIRC playes exactly McCann`s role and first there need to be slots available, as I cannot see many displacing Kamara and Davies who are not named Jack, Aribo, Lundstram, Arfield et al. And signing someone for hard cash to be loaned out immediately and reared for the future ... hm.
  9. Or he was not being used since he is about to be loaned out. Just saying.
  10. Wouldn`t be surprised to see McCann and Alegria being brought into the first team sooner than we expect. There were some murmurs that we may sign another two players, but nothing more was said. Source never backed it up. It will sure be some "interesting" 36 hours or so, but aside from Katic moving out, and possibly Barker (unless Covid-19 prevents that), I`m not sure that there will be much movement.
  11. If the Covid issues remain, there will be no Tavernier or Bassey, hence the only question in defence will be, whether it is Helander or Balogun next to Goldson. Kamara and Davis are certs, and I hope for Roofe - Morelos - Wright/Hagi up front, Aribo behind them. Kent can come on later and hit them with pace. We need to show up from the off though. Alas, I`ll be working and the last game that was the case we won 4-1. Hope it was a good omen.
  12. Ever since I follow, watch and listen to Old Firm games, the formbook oftentimes wnet out of the window. The one exception was the season after our return to the top tier, when you simply knew what was coming our way. As with last season, I have not looked at their squad and will probably not recognize half of their current players, and why should I. When we turn up, we can cause trouble to anyone. That's what I hope for.
  13. We have a good record in Europe, this looks like a group we can go through, yet, what's past is past and those we have need to prove themselves again. Let's take one game after the other. Served us well enough.
  14. With Roofe, Sakala, Itten and Wright we have quite a bit of firepower. Kent is off the boil somewhat, and Morelos, for all his all-round better play, needs to hone his killer instincts. Roofe is far more clinical IMHO, but we would do well playing e.g. Roofe, Morelos and Wright up front.
  15. BTW ... can`t speak highly enough of the old warrior Steven Davis.
  16. Job done. No more, no less ... and good given the circumstances.
  17. Alfredo misses two "sitters", Arfield should have done a wee bit better, Aribo unlucky that the goalie touches on the post. There are days when Alfredo just needs too many chances to score, Roofe is usually quite clinical. Why again was this game played so early, it still is 30° and sure not too dark over there either?
  18. German referees ... Referee - Tobias Stieler (GER) Assistants - Christian Gittelmann (GER) and Eduard Beitinger (GER) Fourth Official - Harm Osmers GER Missing: Ryan Jack (injured), Nnamdi Ofoborh (rehab), Kemar Roofe (suspended), John Lundstram (suspended), Nikola Katic (not in EL squad), Fashion Sakala (injured), Juninho Bacuna (not yet fit), Steven Gerrard, James Tavernier, Calvin Bassey, Allan McGregor, Jon McLaughlin, Scott Wright, Ryan Kent (all isolating), Jermain Defoe (not in EL squad)
  19. We beat Aberdeen Women 5-2, with goals by Rachel McLauchlan and Zoe Ness before and Jane Ross, Lizzie Arnot and Chantelle Swaby after HT. REPORT: RANGERS SECURE QUARTER FINAL SPOT WITH ABERDEEN WIN
  20. ... and that many staff of the club are indeed double jabbed. Likewise, our able medical staff are all over this too. So let`s hope that those infected have no ill effects and a speedy recovery / return to the squad.
  21. For those willing to watch, the game against Aberdeen is live on RTV this evening, KO 19.30
  22. Maybe the names were odd, as he put Kent and Patterson in his line, not Tav and Kent or indeed Wright and Patterson? Easy enough to see. Anyway, as you put it, missing both Wright and Kent means that Sakala would have to step up, or indeed Morelos and Itten are up front with probably Hagi. We shall see. Roofe's still banned, but available at the weekend. And as for the positive guys, we'll have to wait and see.
  23. Wishes re Patterson and Kent? One is a right back, the other a left winger? Anyway, we should have enough players to take care of a side that barely overcame Connah's Quay, who had similar problems and went there with only 12 players.
  24. They'll board the plane to Armenia at 1 pm, I think. By then we'll know who will be available.
  25. The problem might probably not be those with positive Covid tests, but those who sat next to them on the team bus et al, i.e. people who might have to isolate. But as has been said, best wait till we get any more info.
