Some timing this ...

I have since learned that these bounce games are not that uncommon, as the women teams don`t get that much practise against better opposition in Scotland. I doubt that it was anything official, so no need to keep anything "secret". Truth be told, I wouldn`t have risked Hagi today from the start. He and Wright are needed for Thursday. Bacuna is not up to speed yet, SG said that he hasn`t played a game in earnest since June. I take it that those injured mentioned by Beale are Wright and Sakala, as the latter was missing with a knock against Alashkert. As the line-up will look like the usual one-striker Plan A, I`d sent Roofe on the wing inside-right/left slot instead of Hagi.

You just hope we did not have any clause in our Castore contract saying we have to wear that trash for a fixed number of games. Pains the eye, really. A "couple of players with knocks" probably excludes Katic and Jack, yet we have enough chaps out and about who can beat Ross county. You wonder whether we`ll a) shift to a more attacking line-up (i.e. 2 real strikers, no matter how they align themselves on the field) and b) whether Kent will get a straight starting slot ahead of Roofe, Sakala et al.

Yet to find any note on that apparent pre-season fun game anywhere else.

Regarding Kent (or any other player who currently or occasionally is not running at his usual best), one can persist with him when there is no-one else. But we have people challenging for a starting slot these days. More often than not this season, he reminded me of a "better" version of Gregg Wylde, lots of speed, workrate, but somewhat predictable and quite erratic in his finishing or final pass. You look at that for a while (and we have done for 3 seasons now), then you use other players (which we rarely do). The club does not stand still and if we need more penetration up front, that`s that for Kent in this moment in time. Roofe, Sakala, Wright are options for Kent`s slot, and as I said before, there is no reason to stop playing Kent deeper and let him use his speed from there. Likewise, I would play Roofe - Morelos/Itten - Sakala/Wright as a top three and Hagi behind them. Then bring a new set of players later on. We`ve got the players, we only have to use them more regularly. -

Hopefully he goes there, sits next to a Covid-case and can report from a hotel-room TV set. -

That bit of spark by Wright, then the tenacity of him, Bassey and Hagi really got us going. Next week, Kamara will be back and hopefully stabilize the midfield. You would hope we start with Wright straight away. -

May I add that Tylesdey and Smith are probably worse to listen to than some of their BT / Sky colleagues. -

SG sends on the inexperienced Lundstram (who sure didn`t cover himself in glory), he once more sends on Aribo and Kent hoping that they click. How often do we have to endure this trash of but one striker and fledgling attackers? Hagi on the wing is wasted, as we know. I doubt that we will even notice the absence of Lundstram in the 2nd half. Wright should be on though, at least he knows how to beat a player and hit a shot AT target. -
Official: Juninho Bacuna signs from Huddersfield
der Berliner replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Seemingly a CM with a bit of drive and willing to shoot from outside the area. -
Who was defeated 8-0? Tonight it is a friendly against Manchester United, really hard opponents ... 0-5 after 77 mins.

SFA Compliance Officer Will No Longer Consult Referee
der Berliner replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Clubs should demand that those making the decisions and the explanations for these decisions are made public. -
Latest bit that comes out of the Sun`s tea-bag reading faction is Huddersfield Town`s Curacao attacking midfielder Juninho Bacuna (24, Groningen born and raised), which we were seemingly interested in before. Has a year to run on his contract, as Huddersfield took the extension option earlier this year (so he can`t move for free). Seemingly out of their plans too. Maybe we give this rumour a day or two, the last Sun rumour was pretty far off. Juninho Bacuna overall stats at TM Haven`t seen anything about Boyle so far.

BTW, that Columbian kid with Finnish side Honka, Juan Alegria (19), has so far played 18 games for them, scoring 3 goals and assisting 1. Looks not that much, but he only played some 513 mins, average of 30 mins per game. I reckon he will be one for the B-side at first, with Defoe looking over his shoulders.

Talking about the Sheep, after Brown and Lewis posturing at the Breidablik changing room in midweek, I reckon Broonaldinho will be sprinting for the coach, getting humped out of the League Cup by naughty Raith Rovers ...
