More info about the last match et al to follow ... ... but a few players have now gone, as their contracts run out. O'Neill was IMHO some sort of PR/luxury one, but Bourma and Girasoli are a surprise, as they sure were amongst the better players. Then again, one might be wanting a club closer to home while the other might have private reasons too ... RANGERS Football Club can confirm that Sonia O’Neill, Daina Bourma and Carly Girasoli will leave the club upon expiry of their contracts. Captain Clare Gemmell will also depart as she retires from a 20-year senior football career. https://www.rangers.co.uk/Article/rangers-wish-departing-womens-players-well-for-next-stage/6EKtf9M40kMwd4FTYqxqOx

Somewhat surprising, actually. A company does not play football games, a football club does. A company may very well "run" a football club, not least when it becomes too big to be handled by a chairman, a secretary and the tea lady, like East Fife* or the like for many many years. *No disrespect to East Fife.

Back in the day, 2014, Keith Jackson whipped up this article. If true, it makes you wonder why Whyte, upon setting a foot on British soil, never mind the streets of Glasgow, was not snatched up by these tax-enforcers and HMRC looked on how, in a rather "unspectacular and not-that-well puplicized fashion", as the fraudster took over at Ibrox: https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/ex-rangers-owner-craig-whyte-being-3992415 Why did HMRC not act? For ... any action from them would have made Murray et al aware of Whyte`s background.

gersnet article (image) The Great, the Good and the Unacceptable

Aside from other things, one idea might be "fan-stewards", i.e. dedicated supporters of the club who act as front-line stewards and people to talk to and talk to fellow, out of order supporters ... before the normal stewards or police step in. These people could spot and target those stepping out of line or doing things that may harm the club, be it FTPing or BillyBoying. It works quite well over here, e.g. in icehockey, where these fan people know each other quite well, know who in their block may cause trouble, talk to him and have a beer with him afterwards or guide him outside immediately. The whole "ultra" / "hardcore fan" stand is primarily watched over by such "fan stewards" ... ... and they travel with that lot near and far. It takes some time to get going and you will sure have some folk who will do silly things nonetheless, but those can be - over time - weeded out and barred from e.g. less "policed" away games. -
Well, Der Kicker usually does not spread rumours unless they have some facts. The original article states that we have made contact with Köln / Cologne about the player and what sort of character he is. We seemingly want to wait and see how our midfield developes over the coming days / weeks before adding him straight away, but he is on our list of targets. The player wants to prove himself at a higher level ... and would have been with the U21 European Championship, had it not been for the Bundesliga playoffs. He will be with the German side against the Dutch in the semi-finals, so you might get a glimpse on him there. Salih Özcan (wee advice: any letter with the double dots on top of them (ä, ö, ü) can also be typed with an e behind the initial vowel, if you keyboard lacks the letter: ae, oe, ue ... though in names this is not commonly done)

They also have cut out a few parts, return, departure, Caixinha et al in 15 min bits.

Actually, while there is hardly any doubt about that goal, I feared that his sending off and ridiculous ban had diminished his chances of getting that well deserved prize.

... while being with the Columbian national side. Is in good health. Rangers star Alfredo Morelos tests positive for Covid RANGERS striker Alfredo Morelos has tested positive for Covid-19 on international duty with Colombia. Morelos joined up with the squad ahead of their World Cup qualifiers with Peru and Argentina in the coming days. But it has now been confirmed that he and a member of staff will have to self-isolate after returning a positive test in the Colombian camp. A statement from the FA read: "The technical staff of the Colombia male senior team reports that, following biosafety protocols, RT PCR tests were carried out and two positive cases for Covid-19 were found, the player Alfredo Morelos and the kinesiologist José Rendón. "After knowing the positive results, following the protocols, the respective isolation of the two people was carried out, who at the moment are in good health." https://www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/sport/19337699.rangers-star-alfredo-morelos-tests-positive-covid/

Actually, I thought McTominay was one of ManU`s better players, and the German commentators were raving about him. Funny how they berated ManU for not doing enough when Villareal were leading and essentially flooding their own half and doing virtually nothing to attack. HEard the same sort of "accusations" when we were up against the trench-diggers in Scotland ... somewhat bizarre. Bizarre that the commentators et al were not having a go at the "defending" team for wrecking a game of football. But there you go. ManU had a few really good opportunities via Cavani too and deserved the win more than the Spaniards. Hardly ever saw a penalty shootout with so many clinical finishes, even from the Villareal goalie. Though de Gea made a total mess of his shot. As for McBurnie, he might be worth it, as he is a good striker and more importantly Scottish. But the fees in England are absurd, his contrat runs for a coule more years and they paid some 17m for him not that long ago. And we wont invest so much money on a single player, not least when we have Morelos, Roofe, Itten, Sakala and seemingly Defoe too.

An FFer noted yesterday that Humzah and Co. might have went against the Ministerial Code of the Government (2018) ... https://www.gov.scot/publications/scottish-ministerial-code-2018-edition/pages/2/ A freedom of information request would show whether there were any arrests et al for the behaviour in question, anti-Irish or -Catholic and if the police or SNP fail to provide significant evidence in all of this, then there may be an opportunity to lawfully discredit the SNP government on the matter.

Given how much money we spent "helping" the wee clubs while climbing through the divisions (compared to what the get from the authorities) ... and now this impressive promotion of the Scottish game in Europe, the amount of backstabbing coming from the Scottish game (not to mention authorities, media and politics) is quite sobering.

We sure have lost ourway since the turn ofthe year, can`t tell how much influence the loss of the players had. What I did note yesterday was the reluctance to substitute players, but wo knows. We have 6+ attacking players, at least three of which sat on the bench and we played but one up top. Then we sub like-for-like late on ... Over on FF it was remarked that the ref allowed quite a few "strong" Brownesque-style tackles without taking action. That said, this is the second season that the club really has taken to the women`s team and we may look for more strength in depths next season.

Going by how quickly this was out of the news, the Police seemingly has enough evidence (yet to be lost) that it were Yahoos doing it.
