  1. Unbeaten in the league. With Wright we became more aggressive again, would like to see more of him ahead of Aribo, who seemingly needs time to get going right now. I see some remarks about a point stolen. IMHO we pay McGregor for what he did today as much as we pay Morelos and Co. for scoring goals. He is here because he`s a top player and every now and then it is okay that he actually earns his wages ?
  2. Stewart is there for (probably) his final bow at Ibrox, I would expect, but not today. Mainly because he`s not on the bench. Wright, Roofe or Itten it is.
  3. .. but you have to admit, he has done his hair neatly today ? But yeah, Kamara is a bit off the pace, even though he usually looks like that every now and then. Maybe introducing Wright to chase their midfielders and defenders.
  4. McGregor in typcial Scum heartbreak Rangers-keeper form. Pretty even till the goal, then they had their tails up, but we worked ourselves back into it. Sweet strike by Kent, might have been contender for 2nd spot in goal of the season behind Roofe`s. Eagle-eyed Collum at Edouard`s dive, then he missed Helander`s "handball", which will sure be debated by the "experts". Meanwhile, Morelos (for a change) working Brown into a frenzy fit.
  5. He was doubtful before the match after taking a knock on Thursday, so we are lucky that he makes the bench.
  6. He is and we missed him badly against Prague. McGregor Balogun - Goldson - Helander - Barasic Kamara - Davis Aribo - Hagi - Kent Morelos Subs: McLaughlin - Bassey, Patterson, Zungu, Wright, Roofe, Arfield, Defoe, Itten At least Hagi from the off, one would hope that everyone is up for it from the off ... and if not, we change quickly. I reckon we`ll see more of the "peripheral" guys after the split.
  7. Or in other words: Racism has no place on the football field, nor in any society. The events of Thursday once again showed that, sadly, a lot of work is still to be done. Football belongs to everyone and we are all equal. We are fully in your support, Glen.
  8. Again, I agree. Yet Roofe most likely didn`t even see him come out that far, as he was watching the ball. Likewise, on the other hand, the goalie saw him clear enough and looked at the end not knowing whether to stick or twist. It`s not his blame to get booted in the face, obviously, yet he could very well have expected what might happen and acted accordingly too. The end result is that we will miss Roofe for the CL qualifiers, Balogun for the first one too, if we sign him on for another season.
  9. Well, yeah, but was it ever done at a Old Firm game? As for the game, our back-line looks rather thin. Katic and Tav are out, Helander and Patterson doubtful, which would leave us with Balogun, Goldson, Simpson and Bassey as right-back/centre-half cover. Could become interesting, given the "inexperience" regarding the Old Firm style of "football". Too bad that Jack isn`t there, as he would have provided decent protection. You would hope we send out Hagi, Wright and Kent from the off, with Morelos up top. No need to again wait till Arfield and Aribo get going in a match.
  10. It was a made-up thing when the mhedia wanted it some time ago from us, and now it is still a made-up story. Haven`t read any decent article thus far saying that it virtually never ever happened at an Old Firm game before, nor why it should happen now. Only the well known trolls from their side made an issue of it. Let`s see what the German TV chap will whip up come Sunday regarding this, as he fully fell for the mhedia clamour last time around, spouting some rubbish "that the Protestant Rangers would never ever give a GoH to Catholic Celtic". You wonder how they made it this far in the job ...
  11. Wee remark on Roofe`s red card. The pics I`ve seen seem to show that Roofe went in there kung-fu style. The pics we saw of Kent boxing Brown on the chin were equally deceptive, since Kent never touched Brown. Here, as you can see in the moving picture (2.30 onwards), Roofe attempts to get the long ball from Goldson down and only watches the ball right to the last moment. Likewise, the goalie seemingly doesn`t know whether to stick or twist and ends up in a heap. Roofe went in there, hit the player and as such, a red card is a valid option for the ref. Had the goalie stood back, no-one would argue at Roofe`s attempt of getting the ball down with his foot. Just saying. Generally, once I saw the line-up yesterday, my gut feeling told me that this wasn`t going to be our night. I was away at work, but going from last weeks game, keeping up (again) with Plan A was not getting us anywhere with this lot. They have quality and know how to play the game, unsportingly or not. This should have been a night to hit them at their only weakness, their defence. We decided to remove the threat of Hagi`s quick passing skills and creativity, and likewise hoping that Aribo would provide those goods. Whiel Arfield, who has been at best a good impact player for these last few months, was meant to ... well, fill the gap between the striker and the midfield? I don`t know. If it was me, I`d thrown on Kent, Hagi and Wright (whom no European opponent have yet seen) in behind Morelos, or Roofe from the off. As it stood, we handed all the initiative to Slavia from the off and never really got going (again). It might also quite well be the case that some of the relentlessness and spark went with 55, even though players and staff might argue with that. IMHO, since snatching 55, over the 2 legs, we probably only played like we use to do for some 20-30 mins in Prague. Let`s hope we can rally the troops for Sunday. https://streamable.com/ak0nwf
  12. Slavia tweet about Glasgow
  13. Out of my head I can only remember one or two Guards of Honour, handed to us be teams of the lower divisvions after we gained promotion early. I haven`t seen that many games of days gone by, but there sure never was a single Old Firm GoH for a clinched title win AFAIK. Even if they manage that feat on Sunday, it would be a token gesture and pandering to the mhedia who laid into us in days gone by, while antagonizing their hooped horrors outside the ground. If it wasn`t so pathetic, you could almost laugh at the clamour.
  14. Isn`t it some 10 day period to check out any increases in numbers? And people were throwing up stuff like the above after just a few days or so?
  15. Taking a step back and thinking pragmatically, imagine some of the players decide "enough is enough" and stop taking the knee. I can fully envisage anything from strange looks to being downright ostracized from team members, fans and not least, the media looking for a story to blow up. That is where this stuff become "edgy".
  16. Ha!
  17. You see, this is not whataboutery. It was/is mass murder committed on both sides on more or less innocent people/civilians and lauding someone ordering it is sure nothing that needs debated. I fully understand the point you make and also the tactic Harris and Co. used, but that doesn`t make it any better.
  18. It should be rather clear. Anyone de facto ordering the mass murder of thousands civilians need not be lauded for exactly that.
  19. And rightly so.
  20. Some thread necromancy this! But well deserved!
  21. Get well soon! The iconic Rangers manager of my lifetime.
  22. I didn`t. But since we have seen quite a few this campaign, I drew my comparisons.
  23. A night later, I am still rather unimpressed by Slavia. Enough antics to make a Spanish team proud and and for a team running away with the Czech league, less potent in attack then Willem II or Antwerp. Just my humble opinion. Once we started to play our game, we looked comfortable enough - given the low key perfomance levels of quite a few of our players. Still not that impressed by our substitutions, Arfield was okay, yet Wright should have been on to keep them occupied in their half, why Aribo was hooked for Roofe I don`t know, as he just got into his normal stride while Kent was "too sussed out" by Slavia. Let`s hope everyone is back to full duty come next Thursday.
