  1. Some deflection excercise in this article, with Thistle being named in the headline ...
  2. For those interested ... the below started a wee while ago over on FF and is closing in on 6k already http://chng.it/5SsQqc2QPk
  3. The word liquidated does not show up in the PDF, Mr. Thomson. "One of the" implies that there was more than one, had we?
  4. One has to start somewhere ... and no, I have no power to implement them, but those at the clubs. "Ever" is a word used far too liberally.
  5. First, make the rules clearer, as currently there is a loophole of re-evaluating cards. Second would be applying the rulebook to all games and all similar incidents. (How can a referee card a player, say why he did it and then change his mind?) Third, if something goes in front of the CO and the 3 refs, the clubs in question should have people there (sporting director spings to mind) to make a point (if need be), ask questions as well as knowing the names of the three refs, and getting a written explanation about why any action is taken (not some rule mumbo-jumbo). For starters. And that is not even difficult and should have been there from the start.
  6. The CO and his shadow cabal are only around since 2012 IIRC.
  7. The main spot of bother for the club probably is that the cabal at the top of the SPFL / SFA wil throw the rulebook our way and whip up funny charges / penalties for bringing the game into disrepute or whatever they can think of. As long as there is no support for change the status quo, it is treacherous ground.
  8. How about this? UEFA Reporting Platform
  9. The point remains that they use the rulebook in some cases (ref saw it, yellow card, move on), in similar cases there is a review (ref saw it, said why he gave a yellow, then it gets evaluated again) and in cases where the ref didn`t see it or gave no foul or card, action is being taken or not, as they see fit. On identical or worse fouls and simulations. As said before, if Roofe gets done for it, change the rules and apply the rules to all and everyone. Make it an open case who is actually reviewing the cases, at least to the clubs in question.
  10. Whatever is the next step it would take needs to be taken. Else nothing will change. And that cannot be an option.
  11. The one below was not even a foul ... nor was there any retrospective action. https://twitter.com/RangersSpares__/status/1357734235218534404 On the one below the three refs couldn`t agree on a unanimous decision either .. Anyone can spot the difference? https://twitter.com/graham1watson/status/1168248330108977158 That was not a yellow card .. just for the ability of the refs to use the rules https://twitter.com/Pena_Cartel/status/1158306556913639425 Yellow cards are not always required ... https://twitter.com/Patigol72/status/1211309734973919232 ... and that`s just the tip of the iceberg.
  12. We need to appeal this and if necessary take it to the courts. Someone has to make the first step or else this will go one and on ( ... maybe they wait for it, so they can charge us and deduct points?). At the end of the day, we don`t want to clear Roofe here, but want a transparent system where the rules at hand are used and not some mumbo-jumbo side-rule that is applied after trial by TV and as they see fit.
  13. Would have to read that rule stuff back, but I seem to remember that UEFA does not look kindly on somesuch and has a rule that a association will be barred from European competition if there is such a dispute. We should have treid that in season`s passed, be it with the CO running wild and referees mad the season afterwards, but nowadays I doubt we`ll risk CL participation. Saying that, the club should demand (and you wonder whether other will join that trail) an even handed approach to all games and assess all incidents, with those deciding on it made public (at least to the clubs in question), so no malicious/biased/strange pattern can develop. In essence, it is no big ask.
  14. When I read the article I thought: Ross Wilson and Southampton had dealings with Israeli clubs before, why not make up a story?! At times you do wonder about the way journalist go about their business. Well, sorry, "journalists".
  15. I wouldn`t put it beyond a SNP party member to force us to forfeit European games, but for the time being, this looks like "training camps" only. Then again, maybe he didn`t say it correctly and three former SNP party members will clarify this ban to extend it to Rangers players too.
  16. The rules are there and need to be applied. And they need to be applied for all cases out there. You can`t have Darren McGregor getting away with a yellow for that challenge and stamp, with the ref clearly seeing what was going on, yet apply different rules to the same incident. Or, indeed, do not cite people for worse when it is not even spotted (or actively overlooked) by the referee.
  17. I`ll cite the last article on that (via FF) 12/12 2020
  18. I doubt they`ll swallow all of the 58m they want and the rest will probably still be more what is needed to pay the debts?
  19. EDIT: Rangers are monitoring the progress of Israel's Player of the Month, Maccabi Haifa midfielder, Dolev Haziza, according to reports in the country. The Ibrox side have reportedly registered an interest in the 25-year-old, who has been enjoying a fine season in his homeland and has less than 18 months to go on his contract.Haziza signed for Maccabi Haifa last year and has hugely impressed this season, culminating in him being named Player of the Month for January. TM says ... mostly right-winger (and we do like to player wingers these days) this season, 7 goals and 5 assists in 23 games this season.Has played a lot as left-winger and attacking midfielder too, TM full stats here.
  20. Wonder what, in theory, would happen to OldCo if BDO actually get anywhere close to the amount they are looking for above. Would that settle most of OldCo`s debts, despite the BDO fees?
  21. The right words and some self-criticism too. Remains to be seen what comes of it. Even though he was not any "worse" than others, given his showings so far and the upcoming signing of Ofoborh and Kelly`s progress, I can`t see us signing Zungu on a permanent deal (I don`t think we agreed to that yet). Jack and Davis are way in front of him, as is Arfield and Kamara (whether the latter will be here next autumn is another matter). Itten was left alone too much up front, with Aribo and Kent far "too mobile" to support him, and the CM/DMs did not often run into spaces. Hagi did okay too. My gut feeling says that Itten and Hagi might be the first on the chopping list though, with Aribo and Kent living somewhat of a charmed life. We are way ahead in the league and pending on the opposition and personal at hand, we should finally start trying something different than Plan A, i.e. 4-2-3-1 against anyone everywhere. We`ve got three clever and lethal strikers now, who can take up postion across the front line. Just let them loose. Hagi and Davis as creative folk, Jack the Destroyer.
  22. Mate, it is the replies you throw my way time and again, suggesting your opinion is more true or valid. It is just your opinion though and I get the impression, as noted, that there is more to it. by that as it may, Kent played up to his usual standard today and wasted too many opportunities. And there comes a time when we need to raise standards and he has to raise standards. Else people will question why he is picked time and again as opposed to try something else. The club is greater than the man, you know ...
  23. In the second have, we had a few periods where Aribo was virtually playing right-back and Tav up there on the wing or even in the AM slot. Maybe it was a test to draw Accies out a bit and/or let the quicker Tav run into spaces, but neither really is what Aribo or Tav should be doing. It worked but once when Aribo put a ball over the top and send Tav away, and that was that. First touches were bad too, even though the match report says it was quite windy ... and the pitch did its job too. But if the "machine" isn`t starting or running smoothly, it could be and sometimes need to be changed. What bother me most is that we have played here and under similar circumstances before, yet somehow time and again struggle to cope. What a difference Jack made, plus Davis' good passing.
