  1. Then again ... handball overlooked in 2 mins, Morelos clean through and might have scored, like the follow up might have. Kent blasts at the goalie after he scored a much more difficult goal, their 3-2 was rather lucky through both centre halfs and in off the post. Not to mention the dive for their penalty 2 mins (no reason for that) beyond the allocated 4 of extra time. Obviously, Aribo dilly-dallied and gave them a great chance and the Japanese hit the post too and Jack cleared some danger late on, but that was that from their point of view. Alas, it was a decent enough open and good game of football, not least for the neutral. I for one didn`t expect us to be 100 % flawless after weeks and weeks of dire Premiership fare that hardly tested our defence in the way Antwerp or other Europeans have and had. A good wake-up call nonetheless.
  2. 10 mins highlights of the game ... including the handball in the 3rd min. Wonder what the German VAR-chap was thinking.
  3. Said _DON_ over at FF ... Rangers could have made all the excuses in the world tonight. We haven't been anywhere near the levels we were at the start of the season. We lost two of our best players in the first half. We couldn't start Jack and Kent due to the risk of injury. Arfield was clearly nowhere near fit. But you know what? We didn't make any excuses, we just went out and did the job. https://www.followfollow.com/forum/threads/antwerp-fans-reaction-to-the-game.153522/
  4. Dunno why they didn`t include the handball the ref missed early doors, within the first 10 mins I think. Maybe we`ll go "3"-4-3 similar to Antwerp for the weeks ahead, with Balogun - Goldson - Helander, while Barisic drops into the 4-3-3 when we lose the ball. I doubt that Balogun will be as attack-minded as Tav, even though he ventured forward quite a bit against a good team. Speaking of which, how good was it to see us and the opposition play a "good game of football". Not that week-in-week-out attempt of breaking a 10-man defence.
  5. You just got to love them. Incredible in Europe again. And what a miss by Kent at the end!!! ???
  6. I was actually wondering how aggressive Tav went into some tackles, not least after the first. Why he didn`t go off after been down the first time ... well, he got the bill for that. ?
  7. That was 4 mins, plus 30 secs max for the Roofe - Kent change. The penalty was given in the 7th minute, and the Bulgarian wasted no time to point at the spot.
  8. Farcical refereeing. Clear handball not given. Roofe fouled and then it went "homeward". The "penalty" was just the icing on the cake.

  10. Kamberi hit the post and a Yahoo supposedly handled in the area, maybe the highlights will shed some light. Nice run of form by the Scum, the couple of 4-0s were clad in controversy though (and anything swept under the carpet). Aberdeen have been rank since the turn of the year, some achievement when they had the chance to chase 2nd place. 12 points needed. Meanwhile ... “The Scottish FA can confirm the appointment of Andrew Phillips as Compliance Officer.Andrew replaces Clare Whyte and will begin his new role on Monday 1 March. He joins from Jones Whyte Law, where he has been practising as a solicitor advocate in criminal and regulatory defence.Andrew is dual qualified, having passed the New York Bar Exam, and is admitted to practise in the state of New York.“
  11. You would hope that one day the cost for the tax payer will be made public, i.e. the cost it took HMRC to keep the EBT case up, chase it through the courts, go after administrators et al. The possible net gain for HMRC from BDO would be also interesting.
  12. When you think that we have Davis, Jack, Kamara and Ofoborh in the summer, plus perhaps Kelly and Arfield or even Aribo, where would Zungu fit in? He might be a solid DM/CM, but due to lack of game time and adaption has probably not convinced many of us that he is one for the future.
  13. A few new features with our Ladies ... WOMEN'S AND GIRLS’ FOOTBALL MANAGER AMY MCDONALD ON ENHANCING WOMEN'S RECRUITMENT PROCESS LATEST EPISODE OF RANGERS MIND: MALKY THOMSON SCOTLAND CALL-UP FOR SEVEN RANGERS PLAYERS SEVEN Rangers players have been called-up to the Scotland squad for upcoming UEFA Euro 2022 qualifying matches against Cyprus and Portugal. Jenna Fife, Megan Cunningham, Rachel McLauchlan, Nicola Docherty, Sam Kerr, Lizzie Arnot and Zoe Ness have all been named in Stuart McLaren’s squad. It is the highest number of Rangers players ever to be called-up to the National team at one time - with Gers the most represented club in the 23-player squad. 14. I used his words as quote there ?
  15. Someone`s had no sex for a while or tries to endear him for a future job, someone who will surely never set a foot into Ibrox as a journalist ... Graham Spiers @GrahamSpiers While Stewart Robertson, the Rangers MD, bans or bars journalists galore from Ibrox - a hallmark of his time at the club - I am astounded he and Rangers have still not uttered a cheep of regret over historic child sex abuse. That SFA report was 5 days ago now. Sheer cowardice. Maybe I am wrong, but I can think of about 2 or 3 reporters "banned or barred" form Ibrox. "Galore" has a different meaning. Has any of the other clubs mentioned in the report commented on it or offered an apology to anyone?
  16. I take it we are none the wiser as this morning?
  17. "Compliance" has about 15 meanings ... and I assume that it depends on the point of view which one is applicable. Observance, adherence, observation, abidance, strict obedience ...
  18. I trust the club will investigate thoroughly and act accordingly. I do not trust the SFA/SPFL to act sensibly, despite their inaction on the Dubai Debacle and the non-fall-out. As for the "party" itself, best only comment when we know more details.
  19. That`s neatly out of the black & white box. As if you are "forbidden" to make a remark when you feel a player is not at the height of his game and/or can do better. If you think Kent has been fine, fair enough. If others disagree, I would suggest stop dismissing their concerns as "the need for a whipping boy." I in turn refrain, and usually always have refrained, from calling those disagreeing as belonging to the head-in-sand brigade or the like. It is all about opinions. For someone who starts regularly in a certain attacking slot, I would like to see more countable results. There comes a point when workrate and application is no longer enough. As should be the case with every position on the field.
  20. That is all fine and well, and no-one expects us to win game by the canter or show some breathtaking stuff. Yet it was sure not "only inept officiating" that stopped us "winning by a healthy margin". Its not the officials that try to pass the ball into the net, whip balls wide of the target or the like. Alas, with Wright we seem to have someone to push for a starting place, someone with a direct way of playing, similar to Hagi. As I said before, I wouldn`t mind sending Roofe, Morelos and Itten out on the park, as they all do a similar workload if placed into Aribo`s and/or Kent`s boots. They can all play in the front row in a 4-3-3 or with a 4-2-3-1.
  21. Aha. And that has exactly what to do with talking about the lack of countable input from two players supposed to weigh in with goals and assists ... and the question whether tweaking the line-up and try something probably more rewarding? It is almost "funny" to read elsewhere that "thank heavens, Alfredo`s suspension is over", as if the lack of goals* was Itten's fault or Alfredo has score many more since Boxing Day. And if things don't seem to work (unless people like carving out 1-0s no matter against whom for the best part of 2 months), why not ask for a change in tactics or personell? *Aside from one mauling of poor Ross County
  22. We speak of Roebrtson, who gave Taylor a penalty that never was, did nothing at the tackle against McGrath early on etc.. Rules, reason and facts do not stop the Specsavers Union.
  23. Yeah, we saw how well the game plan worked against Motherwell, St. Johnstone, Hamilton and had the ref blown against Balagun today ... When there is room for improvement, why look away? Totally beyond me.
  24. Impact players flanking the striker toothless again. For all their work and endavour, the net stats outcome is poor. Wright looks good, too bad he came on for Hagi, who was a stand-out next to Davis. But it is 3 points again ... so "all is fine". I still hope of a future with Morelos partnering Itten up front and Roofe nearby.
  25. Our impact players supporting the striker have again been rather non-impacting. Nothing new there.
