  1. A couple of strikers linked today IN - Kemar Roofe (27) - striker, RSC Anderlecht - contract till 2022 - (Scottish Sun) - TM IN - Terem Moffi (24) - striker, Kortrijk, Nigerian - contact till 2023 - (Turkish media) - TM And Kelly has signed a contract till 2023 and is off to Ross County for the season.
  2. ... "partly" due to some other goalies at the club at the time, some of legend-status.
  3. Donalda? That is really a name?
  4. Actually, there supposedly was interest from us and the Scum, he said he wanted to stay in Britain. Interestingly enough, after all the discussions of these last few days, this morning I thought the next signing might be of this very category, i.e. some "no-name" where everyone's first thought would be "WTF"?! Alas, another blinder played by the recruiting team.
  5. Might be that someone from a nicer and warmer climate have come in for Hladky, methinks a German teamwere amongst those mentioned.
  6. A SIGNING!!! Jon McLaughlin - (32) - goalkeeper, AFC Sunderland, freebie
  7. The problem for most strikers will be the utterly defensive attitude of many "lesser" teams, who usually build a Scottenaccio from front to backline, with a maximum of 4 players trying to hit on the counter while the rest digs in. You need a certain type of striker that can live with that, either by being similarly physical or having the technical ability to get through those 2 or 3 players that look after him all game. Add to that the "physical approach" of Scottish referees that favours the defenders and you see why many strikers who have good careers elsewhere don't click here. What bothers me most is that ever since Warburton, we simply don't adopt a certain line of approaching these dug-in teams, but essentially go 4-3-3 time and again and hope for something special. Even when it quickly becomes clear that we don't have the players for that role/tactic. You would hope that no matter whom we sign, we change tactic, personell and shpae depending on the game at hand, not trying to make Plan A better.
  8. I want Friday's Euromillion numbers too, please. ? We sidenote, Lyndan Dykes has 12 goals and 11 assists to his name in 33 games for ... Livingston.
  9. That's xactly the right term for anything that has to do with K-Pop ...
  10. You would hope this thread does not descents into another pro-Ally vs contra-Ally debate. Has been done to death before. That Eamonn guy seems a bit strange though ...
  11. A few more murmurs that we have started talks with Toney, may really look at Lyle Taylor and that Morelos might be away. Well, let's wait and see ...
  12. L'equipe linking us with Haris Belkebla, 26 year old midfield player who currently plays for Brest. https://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualites/Transferts-les-Rangers-ciblent-haris-belkebla-brest/1144761 Central midfielder at Stade Brest, contract till 2022, according to TM
  13. Sport Witness@Sport_Witness Aliou Traoré | From France: Celtic and Rangers ‘clearly interested’ in Manchester United youngster. http://sportwitness.co.uk/from-france-celtic-and-rangers-clearly-interested-in-manchester-united-youngster/… #mufc #celticfc #rangersfc 19-year old defensive midfielder with a contract at ManU till summer 2021, according to TM Daily Star Sport@DailyStar_Sport EXCLUSIVE: Dion McGhee attracting West Ham, Rangers and many others after Man Utd release | #MUFC #WHUFC #RangersFC http://dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/dion-mcghee-attracting-west-ham-22216418… 19-year old attacking midifielder - he's a freebie soon, according to TM
  14. Hibs are seemingly in a bit of financial trouble due to their parent company. But lets wait and see.
  15. Nicola Sturgeon has declared that from Monday onwards, sports events can go ahead behind closed doors. bbc.com/news/live/uk-scotland-53049825 Nice (snatched from FF) ... July 1 - Rangers v St Johnstone July 4 - Round 31 July 8 - Round 32 July 11 - Round 33 July 15 - Round 34 July 18 - Round 35 July 22 - Round 36 July 25 - Round 37 July 29 - Round 38 Based on a return to training last week coupled with UEFA' timeframe of trying to get league completed by the end of July for 2019/20 it would have been a hard task on the players after a 3 month break. ... oops, not in Scotland! Since a certain SFA/SPFL advisor doctor at the start of the Corona crisis said that no football can be played again till June 11th, which was accepted as hard fact and the season declared over, a guy that was pictured a few years back in his full Celtic training outfit.
  16. So far, Leverkusen has played 7 games, tonight they beat Cologne 3-1 and the snippets again showed their class. According to TM the game has been scheduled for Wednesday 8th of August, by which date they will have played two more league games and the DFB Cup Finale. Then there is a 4 week break till our game. AFAIK, we won't play a competitive game till then.
  17. Ryan Fraser ... played left winger for Bournemouth. Currently playing this position at the club are ... Kent, Murphy, Jones, Barker, and Middleton, even Hastie can play there. Fraser has hardly been prolific in that role and if someone'S seen him and can tell a bit more on him, why would he be special? Some murmurs that we are in talks with Bayern's 2nd/3rd choice goalie Sven Ulreich, who is looking for a new club. 31-years old, 1.91 m tall.
  18. A few murmurs that Leicester and some Qatar team are looking at Alfredo, though the former has been toned down to tentative enquiries while the other is deemed highly unlikely as Alfredo has said that he wants to prove himself at a higher level.
  19. Meanwhile, Sonia is checking out Toronto
  20. They are superiors of the SFA, not the SPFL, IIRC. In any case, the whole scenario would have to be put to them in a civilized and legally sound manner. If anything, they might say that unless anything is been cleared up, the Scottish national team and membership clubs will not take part in any UEFA event next season. That would set fire amongst the p(h)igeons. IMHO, it is right that Rangers are not forerunners in this legal debate regarding the ending of the season, as we would be (and already have been) labelled as self-interested with regards to winning the title but not caring about the rest of the game - obviously not true, but we know the script. So it is important that those who now challenge the SPFL do it - obviously out of self-interest too. But that is their right and theirs greater than ours anyway. What needs to be done is a total removement of the cabal that effectively ruined the game in Scotland for years now and ruined the end of last season too.
  21. And unless I am mistaken, the SKy, BT and BBC claims were not mentioned ahead of any voting to end the season. That is corporate mismanagement of the highest degree. How clubs did not vote for an independent inquiry is utterly beyond me.
  22. You would have thought that people are at the University for higher education, but Crilly is sure not there for anything that has to do with history. Rangers and Fascism ... over on FF he was identified as another Yahoo sitting in a glass house filled with fellow brigadieri verdi. As a FFer once said ... never get in an argument with an idiot Dhim. They drag you down to their level and beat your with years of experience in asshattery. The problem is that creeps like him are the next generation`s Haggerty et al, people others will listen to ,,,
  23. Transfermarkt is a nice tool. They keep stats on people, including where they have played most/often/last and you can check that for the entire team. For us and 19/20, the position-stat would look like this: https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/glasgow-Rangers/kadernachposition/verein/124 In e.g. Jordan Jones´ case it means that his main position is left wing, but he could also play as right winger or attacking midfielder. You would obviously have to cut out those who will or have already gone (Foderingham, Holt et al), but you can see that some positions are well covered, loaded or otherwise. Its just to keep people posted about what we have and what we lack. A Kamberi would sure not come in as a "replacement" of Ojo or Jones, as he is no winger. If anything, he would be cover to one of our quantity-wise weakest positions. The number of strikers we`ll sign will probably also depend on SG`s tactical plans for next season. If he goes 4-3-3 again, we don`t need many strikers, but strikers able to fill that role. I doubt that either Defoe or Kamberi or even Toney are made for a one-striker-role. Put the likes of Defoe and (!) Kamberi as a dual-partnership up front though and they will do damage to Killie and Co.. Quite a few of our recent "failures" would have, but we stuck to 4-3-3 and the "rewards" were there for anyone to see. At 150k, Kamberi would be a steal. It is up to SG and Co. to decide though.
  24. But he polymorphed into DCI Barnaby, who is clever enough!
