  1. A bit of word-mongering on both parts then. Maybe it is not "stereotypical" ... yet the lad even notes that the club / assets were sold and then feeds the trolls he talks about himself that line? Pretty poor. Do note the tense he and you use. Rangers were not "liquidated".
  2. Perhaps we should surprise Feyenoord and start with Defoe and Morelos up front ... would probably be regarded as a revolutionary idea though ...
  3. ... were Rangers liquidated, as is written?
  4. As of Tuesday ... ID 10 a.k.a. Stevie_4lads I would assume that if he's fit, Jack will play. Kamara or King are the options ... the Finn had a bit of a sub-standard start to our campaign, while King remains an unknown property to this Bear. You do wonder who will make up the central attacking midfield, Arfield or Aribo ... or whether we'll actually see Arfield, Aribo and Ojo line up behind Morelos (or, IMHO less likely, Defoe).
  5. Interesting read, some in-depth knowledge shared, but then you end up with stereotypical rubbish like "when Rangers were liquidated" or all the sectarian stuff later on. You'd wish some would get his act together over this ...
  6. Watching only the highlights and having had a talk with those who saw it over on the German board ... Livingston sat deep and soaked up pressure ... while we were again unlucky with our first chances, Arfield post and Morelos two really good efforts. They scored against the run of play, started trying to play football too, but essentially fell into the trap SG has warned us for, i.e. wanting too much when you shouldn't. Our luck returned with Tav's goal (when did he last scored a goal from open play or via a really direct free kick?), then we got what we deserved. At the end of the day, we had these kind of games for decades, but usually block them out of memory. Getting three points in this style or these kind of games is all that matters. We can try the fabulous stuff in the big games or Europe, but at times you also have to work and graft for title winning points.
  7. As we know, due to the ban of senior reporter McLaughlin, BBC Scotland is sadly unable to provide a full quality report nor correct updates from Ibrox. We thus had to send an apprentice junior reporter, since all senior staff was still on their way back from Hamilton or celebrating at PQ HQ.
  8. BTW, the US ministry of Justice is now investigating the affair below and check for more abusers US-wide. Maybe their colleagues in Scotland take note. Michigan State University fined $4.5m in Larry Nassar case Investigation found the school failed to take interim measures to protect students while complaints were pending The US education department is fining Michigan State University (MSU) a record $4.5m and demanding sweeping changes, after determining that it failed to respond to sexual assault complaints against Larry Nassar, a former sports doctor at the school who also worked at USA Gymnastics. Nassar has been sentenced to decades in prison for sexually assaulting athletes, mostly female gymnasts, at Michigan State and a Lansing-area gymnastics club. Former Olympians said he molested them in Texas and overseas while he worked for USA Gymnastics. Is the US finally taking sexual abuse in sports seriously? Read more The education secretary, Betsy DeVos, announced the penalty on Thursday after Michigan State settled with the department to resolve two investigations. DeVos said Nassar’s actions were “disgusting and unimaginable” but so too was the university’s response. “Too many people in power knew about the behaviors and the complaints and yet the predators continued on the payroll and abused even more students,” DeVos said in a call with reporters. “This must not happen again there or anywhere else.” The fine is the largest levied under the Clery Act, a federal law that requires colleges to collect data on campus crime and notify students of threats. The previous largest fine, $2.4m, was imposed in 2016 against Penn State over its handling of sexual misconduct involving former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky. The department’s investigation concluded that Michigan State violated several key parts of the Clery Act along with Title IX, a federal law forbidding discrimination based on gender in education. Michigan State did not immediately provide comment. A department investigation found that the school violated the Clery Act by failing to disclose crime statistics, failing to issue campus warnings about security threats and failing to establish a system to collect crime statistics. The school says it will hire a “Clery compliance officer” and create measures to protect athletes and children who participate in youth programs on campus. A separate Title IX investigation found that Michigan State failed to respond to reports of sexual misconduct against Nassar and his supervisor William Strampel, failed to take interim measures to protect students while complaints against both men were pending, and failed to take steps to end any harassment and prevent it from recurring. As part of its settlement agreement, Michigan State says it will make “substantial” changes to its Title IX procedures and will provide a process to help victims of Nassar, including offering counseling services, grade changes, tuition reimbursement or the opportunity to retake classes at no cost. The school is also being ordered to “consider appropriate sanctions” against current and former employees who failed to take action after being notified of sexual misconduct by Nassar and Strampel. Kenneth Marcus, the department’s assistant secretary for civil rights, said the agreement represents an “extensive and robust” resolution. Unlike most Title IX investigations, which are usually triggered by complaints submitted to the department, Marcus’s office launched an investigation into Michigan State in 2018 based on the severity of the allegations, he said. “This message should be heard loudly and clearly by all universities so that the tragedy at Michigan State University is not repeated elsewhere,” Marcus said. Michigan State last year agreed to a $500m deal with Nassar’s accusers. Most of the money, $425m, was for 333 people, mostly women and girls, who had already sued. Michigan State so far has settled with 72 people in the second wave of litigation. Dozens remain. Strampel last month was sentenced to a year in jail for neglect of duty and misconduct in office. He was accused of failing to monitor Nassar and using his job as a medical school dean to sexually harass students. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/sep/05/larry-nassar-sexual-assault-michigan-state-university-fined
  9. There sure is some internal controlling body as well as some pressure that can be applied via a decent MP, is there?
  10. https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1171466917543985155 Translation: According to Corriere dello Sport, Claudio Marchisio is close to signing with Scotland's Rangers. The 33-year-old Italian midfielder was close to signing with Monaco, but last-minute contract details prevented the deal. via sregnar from FF post 213. Seemingly out after a knee-operation ... https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/claudio-marchisio/profil/spieler/44716
  11. The twittering that pops up every now and then is this: https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1171352274855182336 It has been rubbished a few times, but it is probably for our local ITKs to verify. They have been rather quiet thus far.

  13. It would be cool to get them as they were ... somewhere. Had some older files but they refuse to open for some reason, probably too large for my PDF / xls programme at the time.
  14. I dread the day when Liverpool comes calling and SG removes all his Liverpool-folk with him ...
  15. As night follows day ... the cowards at the SFA follow any mumblings of UEFA. As we had it in 2007. Job accomplished, F.A.R.E. - placemen. Now, before the club or anyone associated with it should debate anything with the SFA / SPFL or accept anything, it should be made publicly clear what is considered "sectarian". And after that debate - in public - it should be applied euqally to all clubs and supporters equally. Right now, we seemingly have a rather context-free, new West-of-Scotland definition of "sectarian" that essentially solely means any loyalist, pro-British, anti-IRA songs, regardless of context, meaning and when it is sung and to whom. Once police and authorities startetd to apply the naughty behaviour bill in equal measure, those who pushed it into being - hoping it would only go against us - cried foul and had it abolished. These days, pre-UEFA verdict, Humzah and Co.(nspiritors) started that strict liability campaign, which IMHO has but one aim: demonizing and punishing us and our club on vague arguments with virtually no basis, while leaving the terrorist-minded having their freedom-of-speech singalongs. Club and supporters need to be pro-active here, or else we get f@cked again.
  16. You long for cameras in PQ the day we snatch 55. Imagine we beat them at the Scumhut to clinch it. Karma, do you copy?!
  17. Regarding Jones' injury, ID_10 a.k.a. 4lads_Steve said: Double checked on this - medial tear 4-6 weeks is diagnosis ... seemingly straight from Jones' mouth.
  18. Wouldn't it be irony in the extreme if it was Jordan Jones` assist for Alfredo`s goal against Legia that meant us being able to afford Kent due to EL-income ... only for Kent to take up Jones' slot on the left. Be that as it may, I would SINCERELY hope that we will utilize our squad from now on and actually play folk like Stewart, Barker, Jones et al more often and for longer than 5 mins. In fact, against the brick-wall brigade, we could go 3 at the back and play Stewart as the 2nd striker. Current substitution schedule seems to swap the striker from 60 mins onwards, with the rest very much open ... but usually a DM/CM for someone else.
  19. Methinks the 4lads chap said that Jones will be out for 4 to 6 weeks. Too bad that he misses the next Northern Ireland games (Germany included, methinks). Grezda ... wonder what SG will say about him now and whether he'll get another chance. We sure don't need another Lee Wallace scenario till the next window. Left wing ... imagine Kent kicks on and we have Jones, Barker and Murphy watching on.
  20. Have to look it back, but wasn't he tryong to win a penalty here? Methinks Aluko got done for actually being fouled ...
  21. Including the likes of Grezda, Murphy and Halliday, we have a first team squad of 27 now. Kent ... I'll be up in orbit once he kicks a ball again and showns the form he had at the tail end of last season. His position in the side was/is occupied by no less than 4 guys, Jones, Murphy, Barker and Grezda. With Stewart, Ojo, Arfield and Halliday also able to play left midfield-ish. One may assume that we return to a line-up with Kent on the left and Arfield instead of Aribo in a more central role. Should have tried that on Sunday with Jones on the left, no Aribo but Arfield behind Defoe. I would assume that the first and second choice list would go like this now ... 4-2-3-1 GK - McGregor + Foderingham, Firth RB - Tavernier + Polster, Flanagan CH - Goldson + Edmundson CH - Katic + Helander LB - Barisic / Flanagan + Halliday DM - Jack + Kamara, Polster DM - Davis + Docherty, Halliday (Seen too little of King to know where he fits in best) RW - Ojo + Stewart, Barker, Docherty, Kent AM - Arfield + Aribo, Kent, Murphy LW - Kent + Jones, Murphy, Ojo, Stewart, Grezda, Arfield, Barker ST - Defoe / Morelos + Stewart, Jones, Murphy
  22. Not in the real world, but the world of 25m Tierney or 17m Solanke or the like. Hope Harry Wilson runs down his contract and then joins his pal Kent up here ... on a free.
  23. ... would rather have loaned him out, so he is not available against us. On his day and with games under his belt, he's a dangerous man. Hope that pitch doesn't ruin him though.
  24. Paul Joyce .. Glasgow Rangers close to agreeing permanent deal for Liverpool's Ryan Kent. Fee would be in region of £6/7m. Personal terms and medical to do once club agreement.
  25. Hard choice between but three guys, McGregor, Davis and Flanagan. Gave it to McGregor for his brilliant reflexes, but Davis was sure up for this, challenging and spraying passes. Flanagan solid as ever.
