As has been said, his wife and her family are diehard Bluenoses and if I remember it correctly, because of that he got engaged with us. You can always ease your distrust by digging info on him up yourself. As opposed to Whyte, there's plenty out there.

Coming to think of it, if we are not accepted back or do not accept a re-entry packed with conditions, the Pars may actually stay in the SPL ...
-
Who actually wrote this?
-
No doubt about that. Though I would doubt that you'd need the full administration team to "run" a club. BTW, now that the SPL vote has been postponed again, Miller is said to have more time to negotiate with the SPL. But who is he actually talking to? And while I am at it, will he speak to these people solely via phone? Might send out a "strange" message to these people ... and others connected to the deal. Then again, he probably made the same with the admins.
-
Yes. People shouldn't get mix things up here though. Being banned from Europe would most likely happen if a newco is founded and takes up the share which Rangers FC plc held thus far in the SPL. Had e.g. the Blue Knights offer been big enough, they could have become preferred bidders and went for a CVA while the club itself would be kept in administration for as long as this takes. That would have meant a 10 point penalty for next season if we were in admin at the start of it, but nothing more. We don't have European football anyway. The "only" downside would be the running costs of the admins.

Yes, there's always the possibility that McCoist was actually a Celtic-Fan when he was 6. The point with most people who are not Craig Whyte is that you can actually verify the information.

Mate, this topic has been covered time and again. He styled himself a Hibs supporter because all people in his school were "Jambos" ... in a school close to Tynecastle. He was done over and over again (hence his good looks and interest in rugby?) for that. Which team he supports now was never said, though he might still hold a soft spot for Hibs. His wife and her family are diehard Bluenoses though and accordiing to himself, he does this for these people and the Rangers suport in general. Just check the relevant statements by himself whenhe first showed an interest.

Then again, there was Lafferty's Law, whipped up in no-time, never executed thereafter (unless I am mistaken).

An FFer remarked this yesterday: SPL powerless to hit Millers Newco Rangers (Sunday Mail) Interesting.

Should We Attempt To Sell And Leaseback Ibrox?
der Berliner replied to caseyjones's topic in Rangers Chat
How would the support get say 50m? Maybe asking Kennedy or McColl to buy Ibrox and then lease it back? That might be an option, even if pretty unlikely. -
Methinks that there's a lot of animosity amongst the other teams' support and sure they want one of the two most successful teams and thus rivals for any sort of trophy gone ... for the benefit of their own club, rather than financial misdeeds. Yet, these people much like many journos targetting us IMHO simply ignore the fact that Whyte is the man who landed us into this, not the club itself. And along with Whyte, it was the SFA's failure to stop any deal between SDM and Whyte, as much as HMRC's unwillingness to deal with Whyte at all - be it the big, small, or general tax paying cases. IMHO, out of the various culprits, Rangers FC the club, the players, and ths support are the last who should be held to account here, but remain the easiest to target. (And that, it looks, is the approach Miller is taking.)

Looks like the SPl runs into some trouble with any possible sanctions (snatched from FF): Just found it and place it in antother thread.

They had to cut their players' salaries for not receiving 80k from our club. He got that from our fans later on, mind you. Now expect the rest of the SPL not reiceiving any income from their games at Ibrox and at home to us. Sure, a promoted Dundee FC will make up for that next season ... On a sidenote, anyone actually checked whether it is actually in the rules that a club in administration is being relegated to Div 3, or for that matter, a newco? The last times this happened was because a) Gretna could not fullfill the fixture list, while b) Livingston was not able to pay their bills. Either commitment would be fullfilled by Rangers next season. On a sidenote, as long as Rangfers FC plc has not been liquidated, its registration to the SPL still stands, does it not? Miller could just keep both companies milling about next season, whether one is still looking for a CVA or not? You do wonder if Yorkston does some mean financial stuff behind the club's back, would he welcome the idea that the club and its fans suffer for his deeds?

People at FF "quoting" Darrell King tonight ... i.e. that Miller might play hardball Well well.

Can he be, under new Scottish legistlation, now being sued? If so, who will take it up?

Should We Attempt To Sell And Leaseback Ibrox?
der Berliner replied to caseyjones's topic in Rangers Chat
Indeed, it was just part (!) of their training ground ... Euro 270m to clear their debts (who stand by some Euro 240m now), and it does not matter who actually bought it. Methinks Spanish banks hand Barca and Real very generous deal anyways, given the state of their country. IMHO, Miller should try to get a deal done with AEG and/or O2 as stadium and shirt sponsors, possibly also trying to sell the area next to Ibrox for another O2 World or the like. Makes sure more sense than casinos or whatnot. -
Should We Attempt To Sell And Leaseback Ibrox?
der Berliner replied to caseyjones's topic in Rangers Chat
Of course, it begs the question about who would by it? Methinks when Real Madrid was neck deep in shyte (which they always are, but no-one cares), they actually sold their stadium to the city of Madrid (I assume the Atletico fans will have welcomed that) ... -
They can't help it, these press chaps.
-
So is it upon us again to save the club's blushes and pay the football debts from e.g. the Fighting Fund ... and calling in some of the pledges made by the support?
-
On a sidenote, you'd hope that UEFA and Co. see sense here. IMHO, Whyte gambled with the future of the club and apparently failed (for numerous reasons, not solely his own). Still, to drag the club and the support into this and the aftermath would be aking to the Nick Leeson affair and Barings bank. While questions should be asked about Whyte's behaviour in general, who could have prevented him from doing this and who actually failed all along the way as well ... namely HMRC and the SFA? If they want to charge Rangers FC and its support for sins of essentially one man, wouldn't it be consequently right to charge themselves too? As strange as it may seem.

Make that Stuart Munro, Bears, and I'm with you in this! ;-)

On the park consequences...off the park turmoil.
der Berliner replied to Juancornetto's topic in Rangers Chat
For the time being, I refrain from making any comment on the staff situation. We know next to nothing about Miller's plans and how he wants to tackle the wage and other bills. I do assume he will have enough companies and enough experience to know that there needs to be some "high earners" to get some quality of money. He's not even here yet. -
I was actually not solely referring to the Trust failing, but why people rather target the Trust and mark its "failings", while keeping quiet about the other big two organizations, or the support in general. Its a bit like people rather leave the talking and "sticking the head in the firing line" to others ... instead of doing something active themselves ... and if the chap / orga in the headlines fails, they give them a good kick along the way. Thus it seems and I'm not referring to all people in here. In the whipped up climate people were and are bound to make mistakes. And sure there should be critique where it is due (and not driven by personal animosity). Still, for the sake of the club, people should rather look forward and for answers of how to make things better, rather than start squabbling amongst themselves again.

Just to clear this up ... Whyte bought Rangers, i.e. Rangers FC from SDM for 1 pound. Wavetower and later on The Rangers FC Group Limited (wholly owned by Liberty Capital, owned in turn by Whyte) bought 93m shares of/in Rangers FC plc.. The shares in Rangers FC plc are thus officially with The Rangers FC Group Ltd.. With all this business mumbo jumbo, you start to understand why it is quite difficult to unravel who did what to whom and who owns what to whom.
