No need to get intimate and personal here. I'm no "no-matter-what RST man" or "defender", just wondering about the open and continued animosity by some.

Well well.

Looks a right good fellowship has gathered in here.

Should the Bill Miller bid worry Rangers fans?
der Berliner replied to Bluedell's topic in Rangers Chat
Facts? ... no really, all I hear or read are these assumptions, which may well be true. But when it comes to facts, not necessarily broken down into full statistics, but at least tangible stuff, the replies run on empty. -
Should the Bill Miller bid worry Rangers fans?
der Berliner replied to Bluedell's topic in Rangers Chat
Anyone has a few numbers with relevant info with regard the money SDM made with Rangers. I see these statement coming up every now and then, only to remain empty when probed. Hence the questions about facts and figures, not assumptions. -
Well well, my current FF count looks like this: And as some people on here will know, I'm hardly the sort of chap who agrees to everything and everyone. Yet, not once have I been hunted by an admin, been sin-binned, or the like. You will always and everywhere get idots and lunatics, not least during such emotional days like these (or after Old Firm games, for that matter). Some are more, some are less outspoken. And on FF, where we currently have some 2,300 users logged on (compared to 47 on here) right now, you are bound to stumble into far more of them.

I would assume that he ain't 100% happy with the TBK bid either, but of these two evils, he openly supports the lesser. He is not the RST, nor is he FF though. If people think otherwise, I'm not taking on the job to make them think differently.

Rangers retire the number 12 shirt in tribute to the fans
der Berliner replied to bigy's topic in Rangers Chat
The fans much like the players were there when the club was in dire need of them. From now on, this gesture will not be forgotten. -
This has been Hooped propaganda from the off. Despite the fact that you can easily see through their ploy. The club and its tradition ends when the club is shut down. As it happened with Third Lanark, to name the most prominent team in Scotland. There is a decent books series about now defunct clubs of Scotland. When you go through these, you find that the circumstances were pretty different to what we face. Despite all the deeds Whyte and SDM have done in the past, we still have a striving business, fill the stadium with nigh 50k each time we play at Ibrox, draw big (moneywise) media attention to Scotland and whatnot. You wonder why it has to be repeated so often, but Rangers FC will only lose its history if the club is being closed down, the assets sold and the players' contracts ripped apart. The "liquidation", a misleading word in many ways, in any case forseen by the admins and/or potential buyers, will see the assets (name, history, Ibrox, MP et al) being moved to a new company before the old company is being liquidated (in the true sense of the word). Miller's idea is that a new or subsiduary company takes on said assets, while the old company of 1899 keeps the nasty stuff, much like a "bad bank" would. He'd offer a CVA for any creditors who can accept this or get nothing. Alternatively, he could propably keep the old company as it is, so the club has two companies in the background (similar to the Hooped Horrors). In any case, "we" are the club and should not let others tell us differently. As has been said above, various clubs have been newco'ed or ever folded completely, yet carry forth the history and titles of the "liquidated" or even wound-up club of earlier days.

Out of love for Rangers, maybe? (Or have some already cast the runes over the Grandmaster of FF and he's now another devil in disguise?)

Should the Bill Miller bid worry Rangers fans?
der Berliner replied to Bluedell's topic in Rangers Chat
Of course, once the takeover is done and we are rid of Whyte and the baggage that goes along with him (and HMRC), nothing prevents the BKs or Ngs of this world to take the club out of Miller's grasp again. It's not like Earth will stop rotating the day after any takeover. -
Should the Bill Miller bid worry Rangers fans?

Generally, no matter who owns a British football club, these people will hardly make any money out of them. And even if the odd club does make a profit, the money hardly goes to th chairman. I would assume (!) that much the same holds true for baseball or ice hockey teams in the US. Hence you are bound to ask questions about the motives of a foreigner with regards to the club, and IMHO it doesn't matter whether you support other bidders or favour a different owner model or not. The big difference with TBK is that we know that these people are Bluenoses and most likely, business-men or not, are not in here to make money. That is probably their big plus in the eyes of the support. No fault in here. If the new owner - again, no matter who he is / they are - is willing to speak to the support or have them amongst the directors, even better ... and a welcomed change from the previous regimes. That all said, I doubt that the RST was offered an exclusive seat amongst the directors, if anything, the supporters were offered one, all big supporters groups included. Furthermore, hardly anyone but the admins and the manager have spoken to Miller, so we hardly know what he has in mind with regards to the supporters and their influence in guiding the club. Is there a great need for all bidders to speak to the support ere they actually have a clue about their chances of buying the club? Quite a bit of water will run down the Clyde ere we'll know what plans the various bidders really have and whether they are willing and/or able to fullfill them. -
Sorry for disagreeing here. 5 posts and all s/he's done is having an open go on FF, the RST and Mark Dingwall. Methinks one of the prime rules of Gersnet is to stay neutral and not antagonize members or onlookers of other boards. That was what I was referring to. And coming up with a claim that MD is in here essentially for monetary and personal reasons actually beggars belief and brings the name of this board into disrepute.

Snatched from FF (again) Marc @MarcAnderson_1 @rangersfctrust Bumped into Brian Kennedy, asked him a few questions and got this response Marc @MarcAnderson_1 @rangersfctrust ''Delay of Process is due to the administrators and also the SFA. The Blue Knights and my bid has a new-co as a LAST RESORT' Marc @MarcAnderson_1 @rangersfctrust ''We hope that we will be named as preferred bidder by end of the week''

Trollng again. Antagonizing again. ...
-
Maybe so, Zappa, but within 5 posts on Gersnet 3909 04 manages to antagonize people more than two dozen other posters have done since I joined up. Edit: Make that 6. Where's the igonre option?
-
There's a certain clutch on here that is strictly anti-FF, and I find the statement above quite astonishing, if not even bordering to libel. You're sure your not having an agenda here?
-
People on FF say that CY of the BBC talked to Kennedy pre-match and the latter told him that he tries to get Whyte's shares. Whatever that means.
-
You make yoursellf a big target though ...
-
IMHO, you've got a big axe to grind with either Mark Dingwall and/or the Trust itself. For whatever reason. I don't want to know. The point is that without supporters groups the fans have no face and no-one to organize them right now. If you'd ask me, I'd gather them around and tell them to organize a big membership scheme, with a representative (or more, if required) talking straight to the board (if not being part of one) or even the club's owner. The members' fee goes to the club and thus they get some factual power based on fixed annual income, and have actually a say in the running of the club. As it was and to an extend still is, the broad masses will be lead around by some chosen few (i.e. the board of directors) ... and these people were not chosen by the support. That there is dislike towards some of the supporters groups is pretty normal. Yet, if you don't like the RST, there are acouple of others about ... and no-one stops you from starting your own.
-
But honestly, that is no RST thing and we all know that FF has a host of bampots inhabiting the place - which is no disrespect whatsoever, and GS will admit that too.
-
Very simplistic view on the activities of the RST, and I for one would like to get the "contribution" part explained. After all, the RST are only a rather small group and what makes them look big is their prominence in the media. They have the club at their heart and chose to support people who do likewise. No fault in that. On the other hand, the baulk of the support also looked on and did essentially nothing ... only after been organized by the supporters groups did some get their act together. Finished? Far from it! After any sort of takeover these people should get into serious contact with the new owner and make their ideas felt, ere another Whyte-scenario of cloak & dagger stuff behind closed door can occur. For one thing is for sure, if the supporters groups are gone, Miller and Co., much like Whyte and Co. or TBK and Co. can do as they please with Rangers FC.
-
In the end, you can just hope that Whyte is not silly enough and demands ridiculous sums of money. Like it or not, he will make money from this deal. Yet, even he will be sane enough to understand that this is not some minor company with 100odd people going to the wall.

Bill Millers advisors, Cloud9 are going to release a statement today
der Berliner replied to Bears's topic in Rangers Chat
As has been said a few times, there is a) not much known about how Miller's bid will proceed, b) how it is valued by the SPL, SFA, and, for that matter, UEFA, nor c) what is actually being meant when people speak of "liquidation". I always assumed that Kennedy's intention was to save the club from going bust. This will, as it looks, not happen. No need for him to throw money at HMRC, Ticketus and other creditors then. IMHO, there is a lot of dust being thrown up and a host of dust devils milling about. Once the dust settles down and people know for fact what is going on, well get a clearer picture. Not least since people will be watched at every turn here, and very closely ... after the Whyte debacle.
