I can live with them being a decent side and had enough good opportunities. They sure deserve their victory. But our line-up and performance and substitutions ... ach well, sick and tired of this. 🤮 -

Another summer and another great gesture from us, giving free Champions League money to another team. Dreadful, just utterly dreadful. -

Colak does well enough and gets near to no service. Tillman does well enough too (in the Aribo role), but since we have 3 workers in midfield of whom only one works, we look rather blunt. I would chuck in Arfield from HT for either Jack or Kamara, maybe even add Wright and only keep Lundstram. And BTW, Aribo has had poor 30 to 60 mins spells often enough to get over his departure. -

He does and well enough. But Kamara is hardly involved ... and Jack, well, somewhat off the pace it seems. -

That looks like our typical work-football away-game selection. Would have liked 3 attackers plus a creative man, now we have to see how Lundstram and Co. get into free spaces ... -

Wow ... Monaco or Eindhoven, should we navigate the Union ties. Would have been nice to face them in a month or two, but ... -

A quick look at our squad can easily reveal who will play where in the front line. Colak will be the spear-head with Lawrence or Wright on the left (both left wingers by trade) and Matondo or Sakala (or makeshift Wright, pending on Matondo`s fitness and the willingness to play Sakala) on the right. Tillman plays down the middle, whether Gio trusts him from the word go is anyone`s guess though. Obviously, Arfield is also an option in Europe. -
You would hope the next time we don`t need changes against brickwall teams. Just play a solid attacking threat from the word go and change it later to a more regular shape if need be. I know that Arfield is usually not that good a starting option, but Tillman would do nicely. Suss the opposition out ahead of the game, not after 40odd minutes. It`s not like we haven`t played them before ...
-
He is not needed, its as simple as that. We need attacking players in the opposition`s half, people who shot at goal or create. It doesn`t matter to me whether it is him or Lundstram, get Tillman or some other attacking player on. Tillman and Sakala will always go for goal, not for the next best player.
-
Its like watching icehockey, with one team crossing and playing itself to death in the opponents half, while the opposition takes one odd counter attack and has all the fun. Kent another no-show, two DMs who play the ball between each other and the centre-halfs, and crosses that bare any sort of description. I`d bring Sakala and/or Tillman on instantly, remove Kamara or Lundstram.

Noted that the club`s homepage doesn`t list the youth players any longer, its only first team, women and B teams ... and Lovelace ain`t mentioned in the latter. REPORT: RANGERS 3-2 QUEEN'S PARK The report somehow mentions to name the scorer of our first goal. If the pic is that of Lovelace, the guy looks much older than 16 ...

Gut feeling also says McGregor, but I hope not. Tillman will be eased into the British/Scottish game, so I would assume Lawrence going into the creative slot. Kent will sure get his place on the left, but you would hope that we, every now and then, put him on the left-midfield role and have a more lethal chap in front of him. Right now, I wouldn`t mind Sakala - Colak - Matondo, as Sakala has the pace and trickery needed to get through packed defences, as well as shoots if the opportunity is there ... while Kent time and again overruns balls or takes on one defender too any. Let him come from a deeper area ... though that may soon become Ridvan territory. Once Morelos is fit, I`d place him in the left attacking slot next to Colak, who is very central. IMHO, certain people do not have to start every week, every game. Kent has his plusses, many of them, yet, we need goalscorers up top and for all his assists, the end product for that attacking slot has to be goals. Against packed defences, his pace often becomes too blunt a weapon. EDIT: IMHO the defence will soon be Davies and Goldson.

Some of the kick-outs by McGregor and the kick-about around the area even when faced of a hint of press was again terrible. We sure needed some DM who offered an option ... or indeed a simple kick up the park. Dunno why Kent is excused from being dropped. Spurs sussed him out early doors and he never really got out of that one-dimensional mode of his. One step-over too many, a step too far and all the running was pointless. Would his name be Wylde, he`d be slaughtered. You do wonder whether Yilmaz will be deployed further up the park, as he is quite good at attacking. Sands looked better than Souttar*, though the latter probably needs some time still and won`t play up against the likes of Kane and Co. anytime soon again. IMHO, pre-season or not, Spurs never really looked like getting out of third gear. They cut us apart in midfield rather easily time and again. *Gut feeling says that Goldson and Davies will be our first choice centre-halfs, Souttar and Sands (who is more of a DM) back-ups.

A bit of flesh to Patrick Cutrone`s rumour. He is only 24, in his last year at Wolves, who have 3 more centre-forwards, who are seemingly ahead of him in the packing order. He`s played 213 games, 79 goals, 18 assists, of which in Serie A 120 (21 goals, 8 assists), 14 in the EPL (2, 0), in Primavera B 31 (22, 3) and Primavera A 22 (19, 3). All in all, some healthy stats for that age, experience and goals-wise. We might try a deal for a loan here, or a cut-down fee, which we are likely to recover from a future sale. Cutrone`s stats at TM
