  1. Colombian striker from Sochi linked, even though right now the Russians look for 8.5m ... IN - Mateo Cassierra (25) - ST, Sochi, contract 6/2023 + 1yo - LINK - TM
  2. Nah, don`t get me wrong. It`s not a grudge, but it is one of them defensive blips that cling to mind. He also managed to shank-in an own goal during his first seasons, when he was banging in goals on the other end from open play and free-kicks for fun. It was a belter.
  3. YOUTH - IN - Cameron Cooper (16) - ST, Partick Thistle - LINK - TM
  4. That back-pass from Tavernier a couple of seasons back, when he handed the Scum a goal (while we were on the up in that game) for a defeat that de facto ended any chance of the title before Covid-19 struck will blemish his career in my mind. Only a little. IMHO, his only "problem" was that he can`t keep his own high standard up for a whole season. This and last season were really good ones for him and let`s hope he continue it. Speaking of which, you would hope that we actually go 3-4-3 next season, not least against the brickwall sides. Three true attackers, then Tav on the right MF slot. For that is his territory. He can attack at leisure, as he has back-up, and defend if need be. And if these 3 defenders are of the Bassey variety, they can join the attack/MF as well, if opportunity arises.
  5. Lowry is a raw gem, while Ramsey is some sort of broken gem. Imagine to have a midfield with these two and Hagi feeding the attackers or having a go themselves ...
  6. Who knows what his problem was. If he was injured by opposition players, same as Helander, there is little what you can do in a pre-transfer examination. If people are on the bench at 2 cup finals, I expect them to be fit or not to be there. For the rest of my days, I won`t be able to fathom Gio`s logic to try and win these games without a striker or more offensive power.
  7. Teamtalk links us with a centre-half from Waregem, freebie next months and with ManCity`s youth before IN - Cameron Humphreys (23) - CH, Zulte Waregem, freebie in June 2022 - LINK - TM
  8. Meanwhile ... IN - Ross Stewart (25) - ST, Sunderland, contract 6/2023 - LINK - TM
  9. ... and obviously, Mr. Sands is also on loan.
  10. Truth be told, I didn't read the whole post ... no disrespect, just lack of time. Kent is fine, as long as we use him as the winger he is. Use him as a "striker" and he will do exactly like the winger he is: score too few goals. Exactly like he does now. But since he will be termed "left-sided-attacker", all the focus of the people will be of the fabulous amount of assists (including all the penalties he won in Europe) and the 3 goals he scored. 46 games (3,800 mins), 3 goals, 20 assists. Terrific stats for a winger. As I stated the other day in the EL game and cup final: if Sakala would lose, over-play, over-trick and miss-hit only a quarter of the attempts as Kent did and does, he`d be drawn and quartered. We use Sakala as left- or right-sided attacker in 50 games (2,200 mins) and he`s ended up with 12 goals and 7 assists. Imagine Sakala (the striker turned attacker) gets 1,000 mins more and Kent just shifts back a little to a left winger slot. Far too inventive a thought against packed Scottish defenses, against whom Kent`s inability to hit the target has been a problem for years. I know, you know, and we have talked about it before. But on the field of play, we toil on in Scotland.
  11. Doesn`t take long for more rumours, three added to the OP, inlcuding one Columbian striker ... IN - Mateo Cassierra (25) - ST, FC Sochi, contract 6/2023 - LINK - TM YOUTH - IN - Zak Lovelace (16) - ST, Millwall u18s, contract 6/202x - LINK - TM IN - Vladan Kovacevic (24) - GK, Rakow, contract 6/2024 - LINK - TM
  12. So do I with something that is visible by even the most blind horse out there. By that "yet he scored a goal" line of thinking, Garner, Waghorn and some others would all be deemed fine strikers ... though I would assume that some one here will still tell us to this day that they were never Rangers quality. I actually explained a few times why Aribo was not suited to that role and hardly impressed there. I would have to do some research on these pages, but I do assume you and some of your "likers" had a go at Itten for not doing enough (yet scoring quite a few goals). Yet, I spare me that, since your replies essentially are just a little bout of trolling again. If that makes your day, fair enough.
  13. Regarding the centre-half positions, we do have Lewis Mayo (22) and Kyle McClelland (20) from the B-team, who have been away to Partick Thistle and Ayr United this season, hence the appearance of Leon King (18) every now and then. These two are old enough to make the step up, either with us or elsewhere, I would assume, given that Sands is 21 and Bassey 22. I have no idea how they shaped up at their respective clubs, though I reckon that they will get properly checked by Gio and his staff now.
  14. Hogarth has a contract till 2023. Transfermarkt is your friend ...
  15. Our one season in ... now 4 attempts. Our European exploits are second to none. Our domestic exploits leave a lot to be desired, not least when much of our shortcomings result from using a less than optimal line-ups and not exactly in-form players time and again without little or no adjustments. MW`s tactics were sussed out be the Scottish brickwall teams after about half a season. SG used effectively the same tactics, better but far too often the same players, changed little and thus made it easy for these teams to block us out. You may see it totally different, but the results and performances in Scotland speak their own language, as do the facts. As for Aribo, I remain utterly unconvinced of him in that lone striker role. He didn`t provide much of an outlet, didn`t really press the opposition or set up chances for others.

  17. Roofe, Helander and Itten will most likely be here next season. Gio actually said that he would not have sent Itten away. That said, both strikers will speak with Gio about his future plans, as this one-striker stuff saw them frozen out of teams while we toiled along against the brickwall-gang. These last two finals, being played with essentially no-strikers for long spells, won`t enhance Gio`s position in that case.
  18. How sweet. Obviously, "Scottish football and all those wee clubs will have to pay" for Rangers being so naughty and make a stand ...
  19. That sentence included "potential", even if I did not spell it out ... and sorry for that. He is - of course - not the finished article, but at 22 I wouldn`t expect that.
  20. Sorry, I can`t follow your line of thought here? Are you implying that the Eintracht fans were akin to Nazi hordes or ideologically influenced Germans hailing the Führer or something? Their fan displays, songs and whatnot are not dissimilar to what you get in nigh any German football ground in BL 1 and 2 week in and week out.
  21. Rest assured, Eintracht will have no clue about the standing of the DR amongst us and their reporters. That said, the latter may very well have spilled their breakfast (much like their preferred audience) when seeing that advert appear. As for their displays ... well, that would mean that those of Roma, Lazio, Red Star, you name it displays are also akin to "Nuremburg Rally" stuff. What a strange strange comment ... not least since Frankfurt (and its fans) is probably the most mutli-cultural city in Germany next to Hamburg.
  22. This lad has all. Over the course of the season, he did his work as a centre-half and left-back, is willing to attack if space presents itself, can flank a ball and the way he skipped past three (admittedly) Hearts players late in the game was just superb. Doesn`t shy from big occasions or teams. No matter the money offered, we should keep this lad and built a team alongside him.
  23. Looked a solid chap, would sure add to the team as a squad player, not least with some better coaching.
