I think it has been blown out of proportion to a degree. However, I think there will possibly be a load of smoke etc, then all will be resolved - possibly Green etc just flexing their muscles slightly and trying to stamp some authority. Sandaza was just unfortunate to be the one to fall foul....

Ally McCoist warns young Rangers players they must improve
Darthter replied to simplythebest's topic in Rangers Chat
When was the last time McCoist came out & singled out his "experienced" players for letting the side down???? His statement is giving the impression that the defence did well - another clean sheet.....but don't forget that it was Fraser Aird maintaining his position at the back post that ensured that clean sheet!!!! -
In fairness, McCoist is only responsible for the 1st team. The move to a "unified ethos" needs to come from the top, and pushed down through the various folk responsible for the different age groups. If the current coaches etc are not capable of implementing such a move, they should be replaced.

Ally McCoist warns young Rangers players they must improve

There could be the possibility that they are unable to cope with having to carry the "experienced" players...... -
Teams in the bottom tier of Scottish football should come to Ibrox fearing an absolute drubbing.....instead they are fancying their chances - can The management team not see that???

Ally McCoist warns young Rangers players they must improve

McCoist must be watching a different team - it's grossly unfair of him (IMHO) to lay the blame at the feet of the younger players!!! Cribari, Shiels, Black, Argy, Sandaza, Kyle - how many of them have been shining lights this season??? McCulloch & Little had bagged a sackful of goals between them, but their general play hasn't exactly been electrifying at times. Alexander has been OK, but not outstanding. The vast majority of excitement this season has come form the likes of McKay, Temps & McLeod - The younger players!!! Encourage them, not put them down!!! -
Totally agree. However, a standard system/way of playing should be instilled AT ALL LEVELS within the club. Get the 12/13/14 years olds playing in a similar manner to the first team. Once a way of playing is established, it then makes is easier to spot who will make the grade later on etc.

there's one obvious difference.....the bloke in the blue jacket at the front is the ringleader.
-
I can see the complaints flowing now....it was clearly victimisation of the Ceptic support - The Police never went in heavy handed to the other events, only against the poor, put upon Ceptic support. (the fact that the other events all passed by without incident or requirement for heavy Police presence is irrelevant...)

Hegarty has been fine. Perry, not too bad. I do think they need more of a leader among them though - Boca would be ideal if he returns
-
Sounds like a good Rangers signing.....

I would rather see a dedicated defender, rather than another utility player....

I'm Scottish, and I will support the national team regardless of the eeijits running the game.

don't think Sandaza's effort has been a problem - he just hasn't managed to put the ball in the net too often. Sandaza & Little up front could probably work well, with Temps & McKay out wide. Sheils & Crawford in the middle.

Football At Its Best - The Mudbath Pitch
Darthter replied to chilledbear's topic in General Football Chat
just goes to show how spoiled the players are today!!! -
I would say an average age ideally about 23-25 would be good. However, you don't really want it made up of players at either end of the scale (as it is just now). At what age would folk class a player as "experienced"??? Take you Barry McKay as an example, by the time we reach the top tier, he should have 3-4 years of 1st team experience, playing again a good variety of players, yet he'll only be about 21/22 by that time. Is that experienced???
-
That's part of the problem nowadays.....players are only interested in money (as Sandaza aptly demonstrated recently). It's rare that you have a player who is purely interested in giving his all for his club - there are still some out there, Jig possibly being one.

VanguardBears' - Celtic FC - The Untouchables?
Darthter replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
Why??? Do they have something to hide??? 200 folk @ the illegal march......5,000 anonymous witness statements of "police brutality" -
....but, but. but you have to play that way on these pesky div3 pitches.... someone should tell that to the other div3 teams!!! Ally's grand vision for the future, is a new & improved long ball game - his plan is for the lone striker to actually get the ball at some point.
-
While I'm not unhappy @ the prospect of Daly, I still think they should be looking at bringing in younger players. Having a number of "experienced" players in the team this season hasn't really helped IMHO - they have added very little in most cases. Bring in fresh young blood, who can excite the crowd while still scoring goals - an unknown quantity if you like. We should also be looking for consistent players - like Papac. Never the most exciting or skillful player, but he was reliable & did his job well.

TRS - Green Brigade Disgrace Scottish Football Again

Rather ironically, I'm pretty sure if the correct procedure was taken, and the march approved, the cost would probably have been considerably less than their unofficial actions. If it was planned correctly & Approved, the Police would know exactly how many officers were required to assist with stewarding. Instead they were faced with an unknown number for people causing notable social unrest.... -

The rules are set out for ALL to follow.....If you don't follow the procedure, you don't march. I don't know the reasons for their march not being sanctioned, but I'd hazard a guess that the correct procedure hadn't been followed - maybe they didn't want named people taking responsibility for the action (which I believe is required). Maybe they didn't submit their request in time. Maybe their submission was just mince..... What I find amusing is that their protest was about Police behavior/heavy handedness, they then disobey the Police instructions thus forcing them into action, then complain about the Police behavior.... -

Going by what I read on another report, the marchers were informed that they would not be allowed to march on the road due to not having the proper permissions/authority etc - it would have been deemed an illegal march. They were informed that they were free to stick to the pavements & the Police would assist. The Green Brigade chose to ignore the Police's instructions and proceeded to march on the road, therefore causing danger to themselves and other road users. By intentionally choosing to ignore the Police requests, they were then guilty of wrong doing (kind sounds like something connected with a witch hunt of an EBT trial... ) The Green Brigade basically brought it on on themselves!!!! -
What I have noticed with a number of our Div3 opposition is that they defend in numbers. They are organised and more often than not handle out advances. However, a major difference compared to when we have used similar tactics, is that some of these teams are able to break out of defense fairly quickly and push men forward with pace - this then puts us right on the back foot & leaves us vulnerable. When we break out of defense, it tends to be at a more leisurely pace, giving the opposition time to get men back....
