  1. There does appear to be plenty of free agents - get the scouts out to look at as many as possible!!!
  2. and quietly....don't tell the media before hand!!!
  3. Definately.....McCulloch ain't the answer - to ANYTHING!!!
  4. Ally's first decision this morning - get on the phone to Jaager!!! Offer a similar deal to Aluko....till end of season, with extension options if he does well!!! Bartley is clearly not a RB - where was he for the 2nd goal yesterday??? As for McMillan, according to reports, he knew that when Bartley was put into the RB slot ahead of him, there was no chance he'd get a game!!! I don't blame him either. If you believe your 3rd choice, and the first 2 choices get injured its only natural you expect to play, but when you get overlooked in order to play someone out of position, is it any wonder he felt enough was enough???
  5. As the season progresses, I think it is evident that something needs to change. The team appears very unsettled & uncomfortable. They appear to be struggling to perform the footballing basics ie. passing to a team mate. The question then is "why???" Is it connect with what's happening in training?? Is it a general team mentality - are they lacking drive or a true leader on the pitch?? Is it tactical (or lack of??). What really struck me was the real lack of options on the bench yesterday - there didn't appear to be anyone there who could come on and allow for a change of formation, tactic or creativity. 2 left wingers (Wylde & Kerkar) 1 totally unproven striker (Little) 1 defensive midfielder (McCulloch) Is that REALLY the most creative options that McCoist has @ his disposal???? Kerkar has been at the club for god knows how long, and how many times has he played - never mind started??? The current crop of players seem completely incapable of dominating the opposition. I believe they have the skill/talent to do so, but they appear lacking mentally and/or tactically. I have never been one to blame the management - after all its the players that are actually on the park kicking the ball.... - but I feel that there are an awful lot of questions being asked of the entire coaching team. I think McCoist is trying to be Walter Smith (he's even got the came cardigan!!!), and doing a poor job of it. He needs to start being himself, and bring his own ideas. On the other hand, that made be just what he's doing....
  6. Hell freezing over springs to mind!!! The thing that really gets me is the constant references to a small squad, and not having options hence playing folk out of position. However, when you look at the squad (30 players according to Mr Whyte), there is options and cover - it just appear that McCoist doesn't want to play a good number of them. Opting instead to play favoured folk out of position. As for Celik, I think he needs a few games to get sharpness/fitness etc sorted out. You could see him trying a few wee tricks etc here and there, unfortunately none of them came off. As for position....I was under the impression that at his last club, he was playing a central role, just behind the striker and bagged himself a few goals....
  7. I'm guessing it was contractual....
  8. Even if it was only on Sky/ESPN, then turn out would have been more....
  9. Don't think so.....it was a miserable, cold day and the game was on cooncil telly.....
  10. wasn't overly impressed with what I saw today....then again that ain't saying much!!! At the moment, I would still put it down to adjusting to the game. Thought he got caught in possession a lot and appeared a little bewildered at times. Hopefully that will sort itself with game time!!!
  11. I would be inclined - if confirmed that his club did mess up - to offer a token sum....not the full amount. That way it keeps them sweet for possible future business...
  12. Some thoughts on letting a number of younger players away on loan..... Trying to think positively on this one: I think it may turn out to be a positive move for next season. Get the younger prospects out to clubs where they will get regular 1st team action. The players then return ready for action next season. In the event that other more established (or expensive) players are moved on in the summer, some of these youngsters are ready to step into a regular 1st team slot. I have a feeling that we may see a radically different team on the pitch next season!!!
  13. I think Whyte knew he was gonna be in for a rough ride from day one. He has come into a helluva mess, and hopefully doing his best to sort things out. Unfortunately, while he is doing that, the fans are still wanting progression ie. spending wads of cash on players. this simply can't happen until the underlying finances are sorted out.
  14. I think the optimistic answer is that he felt he could get things sorted out. The pessimistic answer is that he felt that money could be made (somewhere....) As to which one (or both) is the correct answer, I don't know....but I'm an optimistic person....I would like to think that he believed that he had the knowledge/skills to turn things around. As for all the previous directors - they certainly appear more vocal about the club finances than they have ever been, even though they now have no connection with the club. They appear eager to criticise the way Whyte is going about clearing up THEIR mess, but didn't appear overly concerned when they were making the mess in the 1st place!!! To me, is shows a real lack of character - they seem unable to keep their heads down and just slink away.
  15. I think it is really just a poor piece of journalism....which if taken to the courts may just prove a waste of time.
  16. fair enough....I was thinking along the lines that the whole thing wasn't true!!!
  17. Don't think he is saying they are lying....its more to do with the manner in which it has been reported - sensationalising the issue and creating a mountain out of a mole hill
  18. They may have been better sending Bartley back to Arsenal, and keeping McMillan!!!
  19. From stv....figures for the past 5 years transfers What has your team spent on transfers Over the 5 years, Rangers making a £13m loss.....
  20. Don't have an issue with them QUESTIONING anyone....but showing them "evidence" - that's a different matter!!!
  21. but showing them "evidence" between Wavetower & ticketus???? Fair enough questioning them about any dealing involving Rangers, but from my understanding, Rangers weren't involved officially at the time!!!
  22. Just read that as well - good to see the journo's doing their research!!!! We couldn't afford him anyway...
  23. ....but the official line was always that he was injured!!!
  24. Maybe not the doctors themselves....time will tell though. He is ALWAYS injured, or carrying a knock - it'll be interesting if he goes to the end of the season without a problem, playing regularly etc, then returns to Rangers. Andy Webster is a prime example - constantly "injured" with us, then goes to Utd and pretty much played every game in the season, then returns and is "injured" again....then sold!! Also, why would Ross County take on an injured player???? That then raises the question IF he isn't injured, why isn't he in the squad???
  25. and there-in lies the problem - he's never fit!!! Hopefully 6-months away from the Rangers doctors will get him sorted out & some regular playing time!!!
