Difficult game and a real test for the boys and Ally, we all know we will walk Div3 so the cup games are the only real chance to see what this team can do and the fact they knocked us out of a cup last year should be all the motivation they need. The only JJB with a decent Rangers section I saw was the new one in EK kingsgate retail park, but still it was up the stairs and in the furthest corner from the front door and the first thing you saw when you walked in was a filth top.

I know my boys and their mates (the Rangers ones anyway) call themselves 12's so maybe it's a generation thing, I know my boys watch a lot of American sport where retiring numbers is a big thing so maybe they have a different take on it.

Oh well don't play the young lad because we might groan if he puts a pass astray or he's to young to play every game. If we had loaned McKay out to a Div3 team when we were in the SPL would we not expect him to play every game to get experience? Can somebody also let me know when this it's still preseason finishes?

The point I'm trying to make and your not getting is ES are a level below the best Junior teams imo, and we struggled for spells to match their workrate and passing, so 5-1 in the end was a good win but dont be fooled that we actually blew them off the pitch.

Little never was or ever will be a right wing back that's just ludicrous, the lads a striker as his goals showed yesterday, we should be thankful that even tho Ally persists on playing him out of position he still manages to get on the score sheet.

A good win, very very slow to get going and the defence still looks a shambles. A word of caution that was the worst team in Scotland they would struggle in most Junior leagues and for a lot of that game I didn't see the gulf in class that should've been so obvious in fact they outplayed us for spells. Do I think Ally is the man to take us back to the top I dont think so, he will get back to the SPL but that's no great achievement with the standard of football on display in Scotland. Do I think he will win us a SPL title, not a chance.
