  1. We're on our knees precisely because our laugh-a-minute manager couldn't pick his nose. If we had even a halfway-competent secondary school coach in charge instead of a publicity-obsessed professional "great guy", we would still be in both Cup competitions and we'd be further ahead in the league. Not to worry, though. I'm sure Ally and Jig will grow hilarious charidee moustaches for Movember. I can't wait to see the pics.
  2. Unless it every Celtic fan's dream appointement as Rangers manager, Ally is absolutely, self-evidently, manifestly not the man for the job. Ally is a great guy but a shockingly poor manager. If we ever want to regain our rightful place, we need a real manager. As of now, every day spent with McCoist in charge of the team is a day wasted.
  3. He wouldn't give up a relatively toothless fans' liaison role to go on the board as the first ever fans' rep? Why not, does he lack ambition? I notice neither you nor Forlan answered the question. Who do you think is best suited to represent the fans? You must have someone in mind. BTW does Hillhead seriously fancy it? I think he could make a real contribution on the board. Would he fly over every month??
  4. Presumably he'd step down and be replaced as supporters' liaison manager. Who would you think best placed to represent the fans on the board? Have I missed anyone?
  5. Jim Hannah would get the gig. Fury might be considered but I'm not sure he'd want it. David Edgar could have done it at one time but he wouldn't be asked now. Mark Dingwall would admit himself he's not a realistic candidate. MacMillan would be a disaster. Andy Kerr ruled himself out when he was caught drink-driving. No-one else has a chance.
  6. Is this the whole interview, mate? It starts off with Keys saying he'll keep CG for another 5 mins.
  7. "Club have had no one over last 5/6 years to fight corner." What about Martin "been doing a great job lately" Bain, the man who single-handedly reduced the debt to £18m? As did AJ and Paul Murray, of course. Honestly, Charles. How could you forget the contributions of these Rangers giants?
  8. I looked like a twat also thanks to Whyte. I'm sure my ex-sparring partners on FF still sneer at me to this day on the subject. My posts weren't aimed at you, they were more intended to read as, "Yes VB got it badly wrong but guess what? Others got it badly wrong since too." Anyway, I'm boring myself now so I'll shut TF up.
  9. Which as you know is the main reason we have such a splintered fan group. A Trust is the best vehicle for fans to effect change, no question, but it won't happen at Rangers with the RST in its present guise, especially not with the existing long-standing personnel still running the show. That's not sniping, it's an irrefutable fact.
  10. OK, I'll take your post in the intended spirit. What might be considered an acceptable VBer's response to an FFer's Craig Whye jibe? "Mea culpa"? "I'm sorry"? "It's a fair cop, guv"? I presume such remarks are aimed at eliciting a response; I'm just wondering what it is. Yes, it is ridiculous. What do you put it down to? Dare I suggest divise elements within the support? Given your personal history with fans' groups, some might find your post more than a little ironic. Dontcha think?
  11. My first post was in direct response to a GersNet user (who posts on FF with the same username) after he made a less than complimentary comment about VB & Whyte. Almost the same line as he used - "Are VB still backing Whyte?" - is used universally by way of criticism of VB on FF to this day. In any event, VB only came about as a site as a result of several longstanding FF users being permanently banned from FF for going against what Frankie diplomatically terms "the site narrative". Rather than everyone throwing their hands up in mock horror every time FF is mentioned in even the most mildly derogatory terms on here, it might help to understand the context of the posts in question, not to mention the history behind both sites.
  12. While it's true that generalisations should be avoided, it's also fair to say there are some sites whose editorial policy more accurately reflects the views of most of its posters than other sites. FF is certainly one. VB is another, whereas this site contains a far more broad range of opinions with little or no editorial influence apparent.
  13. In terms of their home form, that's true. In which case, McCoist should send out the most attacking lineup at his disposal and set about them from the off. Instead, I predict we'll earn an unconvincing, scrappy one goal win at best.
  14. A post like this wouldn't be out of place on a VB-hating site like FF or KDS. "The Whyte fanboys" is, of course, a term no-one would ever use to describe VBers anywhere other than on an Internet site. The reason VBers were reluctant to condemn Whyte is they refused to follow the lead of FF posters in joining Celtic-loving journalists like Daly using Craig Whyte as a mechanism to heap public ridicule on Rangers. I remember posts on FF praising Mark Daly's role in setting Rangers on the road to recovery. Yeah, right. That was his rationale all along, we all see that. VBers' loyalty to Whyte was misplaced but their motivation was admirable.
  15. I notice what you don't/can't do is argue with anything I've said. The extent of your comeback is, "Tut. Honestly, some people."
  16. VB were taken in by Whyte and they know it. To this day, as you know, snide FFers delight in sneering, "Are they still backing Whyte?" when VB is mentioned. Whereas we all remember that shortly afterwards, the most nauseating acts of sycophancy in the history of the Rangers support were witnessed on FF and the RST site as the Won't Get Fooled Again Loyal first thanked Martin Bain for dropping his legal action (!), before fighting like pigs at a trough to launch their tongues up first Paul Murray's ringpiece, closely followed by Kennedy's, Walter's and most laughably of all, Bomber Brown's. VB were duped by Whyte but at least they didn't act like rent boys thereafter.
  17. Neither did FF, apart from "stopped clock" DylanGer and "Private Fraser" Deedle. Irrespective of VB's unwillingness to condemn White, at least they didn't vacillate from launching smear campaigns against potential purchasers to lifting their skirts for them like the FF/RST did throughout the bid process. Who can forget their twister-like contortions, eg: "It's TBK for us. Paul Murray reduced the debt, you know. They want a Hibby running the club - you couldn't make it up. What's that? Kennedy has joined TBK? Err, welcome Brian, great to have you on board. No, hold on, we want Walter. In Walter we trust, Green's bid is dead in the water. Walter's out? OK, Bomber then. He's backed by T@igs? No problem; anyone but Green. Oh, Green's going nowhere? Err, Charles, can we talk?" Anyone connected to FF having a pop at VB over Craig White is about as credible as George Entwistle/Mark Thompson's, "I knew nothing" defence.
  18. Which is exactly why I refuse to use that abortion of a Rangers site any longer. Who the feck are FF Admin to decide what Rangers fans can and can't discuss?
  19. Not sure whether McCoist wants out but any more statements like this should see him summarily dismissed: RANGERS manager Ally McCoist believes the Scottish Premier League would be wrong to impose a points deduction on Hearts today for the late payment of wages to coaching staff and players. An SPL sub-committee will hold a disciplinary hearing into the Tynecastle club’s failure to pay some salaries on schedule this month. On Monday, Hearts were issued with a reprimand and warned with regard to their future conduct for the same offence in September. Under new financial fair play regulations, which came into force this season, potential sanctions for a repeat offence include docking of league points or a fine but McCoist, who saw Rangers’ financial implosion last season earn an initial 10-point deduction before their summer exclusion from the SPL, insists any penalty which directly affects Hearts manager John McGlynn and his players would be unfair. “The people who are suffering just now are the Hearts players and staff,” said McCoist. “So if there is a punishment put on the club, who’s going to suffer? It will be the players and the staff again. The irony is not lost on me and it’s probably not what everybody would think but I don’t see any sense in punishing the people who are already being punished. “We got punished last season and rightly so, but, effectively, it was the people who were being punished getting punished again. “In our case that was fine but I don’t want to see the Hearts players or staff punished again, or the club because that’s what will happen again. It’s not right, because they’re the ones who are suffering.” Err, I'm sorry? Run that one past me again, Mr Rangers manager? I can only think all that shagging has turned his brain to mush.
  20. That's fine. No criticism intended, nor implied. The offer stands. If required, I can help make any statements appear professionally written. If not required, no offence taken. Best of luck.
  21. Very dignified statement, excellent content. As an offer meant wholly in the spirit of friendship and support, I would be delighted to proof-read any subsequent RTIDNI statements to ensure grammatical accuracy.
  22. Mate, a sporting organisation whose owners received and acted on questionable tax advice is far more deserving of punishment than an organisation whose employees raped children. I think we all see that.
  23. Exactly. The first names are on the team sheet every week will be Alexander and McCulloch. Alexander I'll give you but McCulloch is 34, has a career-threatening knee injury and has no pace. Despite all that, Ally regularly fields him in centre mid where he is literally a waste of a jersey and where we regularly see fitter, faster young players ghost past him as if he wasn't there. McCulloch is a great guy, 100% Bear and is totally committed to the cause. But that doesn't make him a valuable playing asset. The very same goes for McCoist as a manager. If we genuinely want a swift return to the top of the Scottish game, we have to stop making appointments based on sentiment and start making tough decisions based solely on what's best for the club.
  24. Racism has nothing to do with Rangers FC. John Terry is indeed an unpleasant man. If Rangers fans are defending him, why would an Indian Rangers fan see fit to comment on that sarcastically if not to make trouble for Rangers? If he's "dismayed and disappointed" at football fans defending an unpleasant but innocent man, it sounds like Bhardwaj has personal issues which are clouding his judgement.
