  1. Did any of other pedestrians put a crunching tackle onto the space Willie had just vacated?
  2. We’ve got one of those as leader of Scottish Labour. I always thought his name should be spelled like the footballer’s.
  3. Always been my opinion, compo. But he’s never 80, is he? The wee bauchle who could weave at speed past three/four defenders with the ball tied to his bootlace? Alex Scott was always the man I wanted to see but Henderson was the better and better than all the rest too.
  4. Which proves stattos don’t actually go to watch the games.
  5. To the Scottish football fan, all players are big John or wee Jimmy. I’ve often wondered about the median. It seems from the above I’m ok to change my username to Big 7.
  6. In a nutshell. Sometimes it’s better not to win the header so long as the other guy doesn’t get an easy go at it.
  7. Stuart McCall must have headered the ball bit I can’t remember it.
  8. Shankland to appear against his starter club?
  9. That’s a great username. A Simpson for the rest of the season would be good. No frills, just work and goals head and foot and no peace for the centre half.
  10. Rangers’ only player of value didn’t play yesterday. Saving for Easter Road, I hope. @Bill did hint at a surprise departure this week.
  11. I liked the old high terrace opposite the main stand at Easter Road. Fine panorama of the city if the action on the pitch was dull.
  12. Anchors for sailors, daggers or “Bydand” or equivalent for soldiers. Only South Sea Islanders can get away with the demented pen designs.
  13. It’s 5,000. Buckie won’t sell them all but however many turn up, they’ll out-roar the tims. Trawlermen are noisy buggers.
  14. In a SC Final, they toppled a much fancied Aberdeen team that had taken six off Rangers in the semi.
  15. True beyond doubt but some of them think they are. They do the gym work and have fancy outfits and special watches and things. Then the rain comes on and they have to go home.
  16. Luton next at home. I recall when the Hatters were cup-finalists, losing to Forest. Tie of the round is at the Hawthorns with Wolves visiting.
  17. Thanks. No wonder it all tastes the same. Even Innis & Gunn. O tempora, o mores.
  18. Dowell had injury trouble at Norwich, did he not?
  19. “Bloody tunnel’s come up four feet short”
